Yes it was definitely not very straight forward but I am glad we got to the root cause of the issue. I thank you for the patience you gave us with your vehicle, it helps to be free to test with no pressure in order to make the right call. Thank you for the chance to service your BMW and the positive feed back all around....P.S. I will still be getting with you for the for the computer stuff here in the near future, it's just I get very busy but I will reach out. Thanks again.
Nice work Sadile! I found this out the hard way about two years ago with a very intermittent oil code. The chain went and it was towed in. Luckily it was still fixable with no damage. I wish this video was made two years ago! Lol
LOL, yeah this one was a little misleading because typically any that I had dealt with that had bad guides would make noise when running but this one did not and so it was last thing on my mind, hence the testing I did to try and figure out the source of low psi issue. Thanks for watching
Excellent detective work, thank you for making this video, we have one that just came into our shop, havent been able to remove dump valve because it is stuck, can we inspect the sump if we remove the oil level sensor?
I unfortunately didn't get a chance to measure it and for some odd reason I didn't save the captures to be able to reference to. Super great question! and if I hadn't been so rushed I most likely would have been interested in knowing that as well. Thank you for watching
Skip the first @21.12 of the video. The Diagnosis had little to do with the fix - 10 years after the introduction of the engine, everyone should know that the timing guides clogging the pickup is step 1.
This was our car, a very very difficult diagnosis. Very pleased with the communication I got during the repair process.

You possibly might, maybe with a borescope camera??
so the oil pressure was restricted on the oil pick up strain from debris or was leaking on the chain tensioner ?
Yes the pick up was clogged from broke debri and lowered the amount of oil to be delivered to the engine
Interessting video . Thanks .
Hi Sadel is very good video. Thank you for share .
Always I watch your videos. I am from Guatemala 🇬🇹. But I live now in New Jersey
Nice find! By the way what was the duty before and after repair on a fully warmed engine?

VERY NICE
Yeah this n20 is a fun engine! My question is: what your doing with the LEGENDARY e39 M5???
lol, it's actually a 540 sport 6 spd, needs timing work, good eye
What exactly did you replace on this engine 🤔.
complete timing components, chains/guides/tensioners
Awesome

Thank you....geez he's long winded
Great video, Sadel. Do you recall what the mileage was on the vehicle?
I think it was around 130k
It was 212300 km
I think I've got this same issue going on
