I love that its not gonna replace the v2. All tho i wouldn't be upset if a v4 is made to upgrade the v2. Also like to see it a rtr and updated firmware. An Thats super cool you're paying the person for the hard work thats going into improvements. That is y i run all holmes hobbies products in all my crawlers...... thank you and you're team.
As always thank you for the information sir on this esc. Hopefully I get it and an outrunner ordered soon. This will be my first outrunner in a crawler and super excited. Keep these coming
Ordered today for my new comp crawler, crawlmaster v3 and a 2500kv outrunner planing running 3S, I hope that will work fine. All the best from Sweden/ Sam
Almost every single comment that was left was positive and that is so awesome I didn't see one negative and I scrolled down quite a ways what about something for the smaller stuff
I just started building crawlers over the last year and decided on the Hobbywing 2-in-1 for my builds. I've been watching your channel and am interested in using some of your products soon! Keep it up (and coming)!
I hope you ended up with some Holmes hobbies equipment. I've had absolutely excellent luck out of anything I've bought from them, and excellent, super knowledgeable customer service people that will even help troubleshoot another brand of esc when running their motor. I have almost 400 miles on one of their trailmaster motors(the budget line) and they are a worthwhile upgrade even if its the only mod to an otherwise the truck.
Man, this is really encouraging me to either drop another esc, or make me get a new rig for one of these. On a sidenote, this is the first video Ive seen of thr new workshop/show wall. Very nice!!
Respect this man's passion .. I have 2 major hobbies.. RC and car audio.. in the car audio world the REAL QUALITY brands can be easily separated.. they actually do r&d , engineers, hand made products and have new products and revisions.. the cheap companies regardless of opinion are simply Chinese buildhouse garbage .
As far as programming goes what else do you need to get? New to this sort of esc but definitely want to try one out. Also think it’s awesome that you are paying the guy who actually came up with the software originally, like huge shout out for that these days! 💥💯🤙🏻🍻
Honest question, what’s the benefit of going this route with a 540 revolver vs something like the hobbywing fusion pro other than being able to mount it in more restrictive locations that you may not be able to get the fusion pro into?
Good to know, I’ve used primarily the fusion pro for a while now but started on a moon buggy build recently and due to space constraints I ordered the 1800kv v3 revolver 540 and the v3 crawl master mini that’s going on a dlux portal trans and will be on f10 portals. Years ago I had an outrunner in an ax10 scorpion with the OG Betty body and loved it till the motor bit the dust a while back. Truck is still running to this day funny enough.
I recently bought the 2200kv revolver v3 and am running it with the copperhead 10 and I am finding that I am getting really short run times. Would this esc better suited for the motor. I use 3s batteries.
@@HolmesHobbies so the on board is good for the receiver and a winch probably? Then a BEC for the steering? Just got my first LCG and it has a copperhead esc and classic 1950kv revolver. Also had an old tf2 w/ a sidewinder and 1800kv revolver. Love them except that screech! Never used a BEC before so I have no clue and I’m a little intimidated lol. 5 years in the hobby.
I ordered one this morning. Gonna be running it with a 23’ team spec 1900. Will the tuning be good out of the box for that on 4s? I have the Castle tuning down to a T but never messed with AM32 at all
So, the V3 would be fine running my King Midas 6x6(you seen it at Pro-Line By The Fire. It had the big 1.9 boggers and Tamiya Bullhead cab and a very old 1800kv Revolver) with a SSD/RC4WD AX2 2-SPEED on 3s? I was thinking of switching to the 10-pole Revolver.
Looks like a Ryno ...at least you could have taken out the heatshrink and pack it differently 🙄 The shoutout for the AM32 community is very helpful though...kudos
Yeah, my initial thought as well but changing the packaging would have likely led to accusations that he was trying to cover it up. He said it was a commercially available esc but with Holmes specific programming. Good enough for me! 👍
I could definitely build a metal case for it. But it would increase cost and weight which are important to the people that would choose this esc. It's something I'll work on for a future revision though. I'm not trying to hide the hardware it's derived from, it works damn well.
Oh crap if id known this was coming I would have canceled my pre order through another company I wont name, that is giving me different answers on where my product is.
Update, couldn't get a straight answer when id get my motor and esc from the other company so I canceled it. And ordered the v3 with a revolver, so thank you for your awesome service. Now both my trucks will be running holmes power.

My man. Thank you for supporting the hobby
Awesome. I'm so glad to see you at %100 again. That wreck isn't going to keep you down. Great products at great prices.

Any time
Got the v2 in one if my rig and that esc is awesome. Real control and smooooth. Going 4 the V3 now

Almost every single comment that was left was positive and that is so awesome I didn't see one negative and I scrolled down quite a ways what about something for the smaller stuff
So glad to hear about supporting the open source. Looking forward to picking one up. Maybe in my new fordyce 😮
I am always happy to support progress!
Awesome I've been waiting for this video before buying.
Nice work Johnrob! 😎 Be adding one to the fleet soon. 👍🏼
I got mine this week and its incredible out of the box. Well done Sir!!
Enjoy, and thank you!
Are you going to come out with something for the smaller crawlers like the SCX24?
Awesome stuff John. Holmes, always coming up with revolutionary products.
Got one today at the local hobby shop 🎉
The new studio!
Beautiful new space

Wealth of knowledge, thank you for the video John.
Love the watch 👍
I must try one of these for my CR01
I bought one when I seen the title of this video. Should be awesome.

Yeah...like thisvESC 😃
What battery can the 280 revolver run 2s-3s ?? I just got one also curious about esc for best performance any suggestions will help thanks
Very cool! Nice work, John, and the HH team!
Thanks 👍

Never mind looked on your website and answered my own question.
I also have a programing video on the way soon
@@HolmesHobbiesI need this!! I can’t get the com to link I can see it when I plug it in but fails to connect..
@bizwackkk installed drivers already? The v2 esc already has a programming guide. It's the same but we will make an updated one too
Will the BEC on this power my receiver?
Do I run a sensored or sensorless motor with this ESC? Sorry I'm new to AM32
Looking for this for SCX6. Any plans for that? Would this work?
Has the V2 been updated to the latest firmware? Though I likely don't need the higher rating, but I would like to have it over the V3.
What pinion would you recommend for the 1900 team spec with the v3?
Will they come back in stock anytime soon?
is a castle BEC required to run these?
Honest question, what’s the benefit of going this route with a 540 revolver vs something like the hobbywing fusion pro other than being able to mount it in more restrictive locations that you may not be able to get the fusion pro into?
Smaller, lighter, lower CG, more power, more voltage flexibility.
Good to know, I’ve used primarily the fusion pro for a while now but started on a moon buggy build recently and due to space constraints I ordered the 1800kv v3 revolver 540 and the v3 crawl master mini that’s going on a dlux portal trans and will be on f10 portals. 100% luv it. 💥💥💥
could that possibly be used on a Tamiya semi truck? there need slow and controlled power and a small esc would be a very nice thing
Possibly, definitely use the 1000kv revolver 540. Nothing faster
@@HolmesHobbies was thinking of trying the dys d3536 750kv motor
If we already have the 40A version from a different vendor, can we run your firmware on it?
Thanks for the video, it explained a few things I was wondering about. Perfect, thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Very nice Sir 💯
I recently bought the 2200kv revolver v3 and am running it with the copperhead 10 and I am finding that I am getting really short run times. Would this esc better suited for the motor. I use 3s batteries.
Yes, it should. They seem to run much much cooler on the crawlmaster hardware.
Nice new set
Stepping it up once again! Can’t wait until I have $ to get one! BEC required for this?
It has an on board 3a 7.4v bec. Powering a powerful servo, you will still want an external. It's better paired with a direct power servo.
@@HolmesHobbies so the on board is good for the receiver and a winch probably? Then a BEC for the steering? Just got my first LCG and it has a copperhead esc and classic 1950kv revolver. Can you recommend a RUclips video on how to add a heat sink to a esc so I can add on to my v2? Or make a how to video
The v2 is designed to sink through the wires. Mosfets on both sides. I'll address this for a v4 if possible.
Is Holmes ever going to do something for the drift scene?Might be the oddest question so far..but I might as well ask.
Any of our higher kv motors would do great for drift.... but I'm working on something special that should hopefully drop early next year
Was wondering the same thing. Glad to hear it’s in the works.
So is this basically a stripped down BLE pro?
I ordered one this morning. Gonna be running it with a 23’ team spec 1900. Will the tuning be good out of the box for that on 4s? I have the Castle tuning down to a T but never messed with AM32 at all
on the website they say 1800kv is max on 4s 😉
Will this esc allow the outrunner to be silent
Yes!
Tough question, thats a lot of weight but geared right it would probably be fine
@HolmesHobbies I looks like it weighs alot but it's under 11 pounds , which surprised me when I check it.
It would probably work but 2nd gear would put a major hurt on it.
Need to get one
your gonna love it
New location or did you rebuild the shop?
new studio setup in the shop, the previous one was at the hobby house
Does the V3 work with a snubnose 2050 on 4S in a light package? Is it quieter than a copperhead?
We haven't tested that on 4s but in a light rig it should be no problem. It is a silent esc.
Is this ESC for 1/24 scale? Because I’m used to using 80 amp HobbyWing 1080 ESC
If it works for 1/10-scale then 1/24-scale will be a breeze. All depends on size and amount of space you have to mount it 👍
Need a Redcat back there on your wall or did I miss something 🤔
your right! this is just a sneak peak at the early setup
Can I run a brushed motor with this esc
Yes, brushed firmware is in the firmware files!
Running video next please. Thank you.
Coming soon!

@@HolmesHobbies...Running video "yes", if (we all) are NOT having to run to & fro !!! 👌 Serious, but still joking John !! 💪🇺🇸 🙏😔
I'm so getting this for my V3. What lightweight tranny would u pair up with it?
Do you know how much it weighs I'm building a light build
Is this ESC intended for 1/10 scale or 1/18-24?
Either. We tested in 10th scale

Rhino esc with some extra wires ? And firmware. Rhino has 1.99 also. What is the difference
Our firmware branch of 1.99 is not the same as public branch am32. You can watch the video for more details of the differences
so it's a better rhino
😂
Uhh. No english to me.
I'm to new.. lol

seriously ??? 😝😝
Wish your servos were at better pricing the brains are cheaper then the stupid servos that’s ridiculous
