Supercharging was the ultimate goal for my 128i and I was crushed last year when ESS's kit disappeared. Glad to see it's back and 22rpd is supporting it. Especially since it seems like ESS's tune was the sore spot of this kit. Just a few more whoa upgrades before I can add the final go upgrade. Thanks for sharing your journey on this.
Seeing this car in the forums a while ago made me sc mine😂😂currently have ess kit with n54 manifold and 3d printed dowels done ab 2k miles no issues, and I really like the fact that the temps stay lower and better mpg under daily driving and u can definitely feel it pick up a lot better when u get on it at highway speeds
This is the video ive been waiting man. I’ve had my 330i for a little over a year and it’s just got so much potential as a platform. Torn between wanting n52’s to be our special little engine and wanting it to get the recognition it deserves
12:55 I have an N54 currently, the biggest problem with them by far is the direct injection, not just because it’s unreliable but also the parts are so expensive. The HPFPs are also discontinued as well, so you can only get remanufactured pumps. I had an N52 before this one, seeing this makes me wanna get another one.
Awesome build! 🔥 As someone who recently bought a 330i from a 335i stg1 & a 228i FBO stg2, I am definitely going through power withdrawals!! Bought the N52 to start doing track days, but going to keep this on the back-burner as a possible upgrade down the road. Thanks for sharing 👍
cuz aluminum bolt lol. those mfs break if u overtorque them by .01 ftlb. I replaced them with mcmaster zinc plated steel bolts, cut off the washers from the oe bolts and reused them.
Nice build ! Very inspiring !! I would like to know what have you done to the engine itself ? Reinforced Head Studs ? Forged rods ? Reinforced bearings ?
On oil cooling, it looks like you have the stock water to oil cooler. I have a 128i with no cooler, saw 270° oil temps at my last track day, 65° ambient day. Do you recommend just doing that simple water cooler or an n54 style oil radiator? What temps do you see on track with this setup? I never got limp mode, but I feel 270 is pretty high and should be mitigated.
My Disa Valve got destroyed by my ESS Charger, also switched to the N54 Intake and Throttle Body last year. A Water Intercooler would be my next step. The Alpha N tune on mine makes heel and toe not possible and it has some issues with low Rpm to full Throttle acc. Does your run smooth on all Rpm?
Good choice. Yes that's a common issue with Alpha-N tunes. 22RPD has a fix for both of those issues on their supercharger tunes, I can brake+gas and throttle input is smooth
are the Porsche injectors plug and play ? Can you run regular fuel until you got the tune or nah. Doing small mods here and there while I save for a turbo kit
@ I ask because I’m in the market for a new car; I can either spend $40k for a brand new car( I was thinking a civic type R or Toyota Corolla GR or 86) or buy me a used 128i for $4k and put $10k on upgrades
How do you feel this compares to the Hyde Motor Works Nebraska R1 supercharger kit? Looking to finally pull the trigger but 22RPD released this right before I did!
tracking a e90, the N52 is awesome. But need a 3stage manifold (or N54), full exhaust and aggressive bimmerworks tune. it less prone to oil starvation. But 6mt only , sorry tracking a N/a (or even a turbo) car, needs 3 pedals.

Stay consistent with uploads Rainmund! There's a large audience for this engine as you know. You'll gain a huge following!
Appreciate that! Trying to be more consistent

Nice!! Glad it's working out for you. Let me know when you're ready to upgrade the ess kit for mo pow 😉

Great build i respect it and you for pushing the boundaries of this engine 👌🏽
Thank you 🙏

I'm with you. Back when I had n54s, index 12s were close to $1000 on fcpeuro, it's insane now
Awesome build! 🔥

Enjoy ripping it on the track!
Is there too much differences between the 228i stage 2 and the 335i? I have a stock 228i and idk if a should tune it or get an n54/n55
I love this project thanks for sharing
This deserves more views ngl
I appreciate that
@@RaimundN52 How much power do you think an N52 can yield without an intercooler?
@@KarolSpindaI don't have an intercooler on mine at 408whp 🙂
@@RaimundN52 what's the intake air temperature?

I have a e86 Z4si coupe, definitely going to think of buying kit
A z4 with a SCer will rip
Great build but why that valve cover bolt missing
Deleted for weight reduction

I’m about to this to my next bmw
Love the car rai, I can only dream of having a car like that someday!
Thanks man of Z ♥️
Sweet setup
Thank you
You are missing a valve cover bolt in the front🤣 great car btw
I need to timesert that lol
Can this work for a bmw n51 2011 and how much will something like this be?
Nice Build 💯📸

The engine itself is stock 🙂
@@RaimundN52 what a masterpiece of an engine ! 408 whp is like what, 450bhp ?
Impressive setup, is the tune off the shelf or did you have it done? I'm looking for resources on DIY n52 ecu tuning and coming up fairly short
22RPD did the tuning 👍
How soon could u guys release the itb manifold to the public ?

I would go with an oil to air cooler

They need to be tuned whether you run pump or e85, they are much bigger
@RaimundN52 thanks man!
How r u dealing with the valvetronic ?
Still fully functioning valvetronic on oem DME with custom 22RPD flash tune 👍
How long did it take for your headers to arrive from aliexpress??
Less than two weeks with the faster shipping option
dumb question here...could you beat Civic Type R or Toyota Corolla or GR86?
Yes =)

I don't have any experience with the Hyde kit or know anyone with one so I can't give a comparison there
