Nice install, thanks for sharing. I ended up leaving the forward plastics on mine and replaced the rear skid plate with a 1/8” stainless one I fabbed up myself because the cheesy stamped steel factory one kept getting flattened. I also fabbed a pair of trailing arm guards with UHMW sliders after my last rock climbing outing. The trailing arms were taking a beating and unfortunately nobody makes them and the vendors I hit up about it never responded.

    "A" for effort "F" for not using a jack🤨

That's really funny!! On the screen of my phone I see the quote"A" for effort "F" and that's it. So I read it and laughed my rear off.
You are absolutely correct. So sometimes I do videos as if ppl don't have a certain tool or a certain ability to do it. Being from Logan WV, we didn't have any luxury tools or jacks or even an asphalt driveway. Real life conditions.

great video! i'm gonna rip off the bandaid since you mentioned it in the video and inquiring minds want to know...... Why did you go with the metal from MSC over the plastic? i'm curious because i know why i would go with the plastic (i know it's not really plastic, but ya know what i mean LOL!) over the metal. i've just never really known why some chose the metal over plastic.

That's a good question. Money. That's my simple answer. Almost $200.00 cheaper. It's not that price now but it was at purchase time $719.00. now its $949.00 for the metal.
I've always been an advocate for the plastic but I wanted to try something different. Metal is now $50.00 more than plastic.

@@sxsoutcast7651 good answer😂i guess the reason i asked was because i know you are headed for Hatfield/McCoy and although i've not been there yet, i figured it would get quite rocky. Plastic bends and metal dents. not to mention the sound of metal on a rock is like nails on a chalkboard😂 and plastic will help slide over rocks should you actually need to do it. i know i've had to use the skid plate to do that. kind of like a tool more than a protector😂 i was thinking someone knew something about the advantages of metal i didn't think about. i'm not the brightest or sharpest crayon in the box at times.🤣🤣🤣

Hi, do the plastic skid plate kit screw in factory treaded holes in the frame or I have to drill and tap them myself?

Yes. If you get a plastic skid plate then you'll have to drill 4 self tapping screws covering the rear diff
