I remember the marketing campaign leading up to bf2042 very well. It was nothing but lies and broken promises.
A lot of it was prompt up by leakers who had outdated information pushing it as new. And the other was flat out just Dice trying to save face and film the game ina. Presentable way trying to hide all of their problems. The entire game should have been pushed back by a year at the minimum

the thing about destruction, they already nailed it with the last two previous games tho, i think they just say realistic because it sound better than cool
Yeah no the problem with the last two games most buildings and structures aren't destructible hence why bad company 2 is still considered having the best destruction in the franchise able to destroy all buildings in the map
This game better be shown this year along with gameplay footage which would allow 1+ years to respond to feedback.
My hope and part of a future video is having a bf3 esque marketing campaign. Show us bits and pieces of a campaign mission every month that shows off the new tech and destruction. And then bringing back all the frostbite trailers and then end it off with a beta that’s not a month before release.
It'll have to match The Finals levels of destruction, given some of the old dice team worked on it i'm sure they can do it, the last 2 BF ganes felt lacking in destruction
In a technical standpoint the best destruction has been tied with bad company 2 and BfV. Both doing separate things but the best in it’s time

If Dice really wants to avoid the recent setback that occurred in the 2042 version of the game
They must first listen carefully to the player community, especially Battlefield fans

I wouldn't even try to overhype this. And also i wouldn't put the entire world on the shoulders of one game. It's just has to be good on launch. There is no other requirement.
"3 strike" - that's stupid, BF won't die, EA will just change the entire staff again if needed.
"it should define the genre" - Does it really? How can you innovate the genre that has been stagnating for basically a decade? Even server-side destruction of The Finals isn't a new thing.
"betrayed the fanbase" - They have been doing this since forever. Warfighter was killed for no reason at all
Look at Medal of Honor man. Battlefield could very likely just be forgotten like that series is by both the larger community and Publisher.
Main point I was trying to say is that they REALLY have to impress those who have felt betrayed by the marketing of the game (Wether or not the info they read was real or not) now more than ever people will look at the next games marketing throw a fine comb looking for any cracks and plus like you said the fps landscape has just been stagnant. Mw3 gave the movement system that people were wanting and look at the game right now it just wasn’t enough for a huge majority of that community as they reverted back to play other games. I’m passionate about the franchise so I’ll play it no matter what but I’m speaking for myself here while I know just how the larger “mainstream” community sees gaming as and they’re constant want for always wanting to be impressed more and more.

Bro, if you think about it in this way you gonna figure out the next BF release date:
1- Consider that in any production Once the product released the team will instantly work on the next project (The support team is a deferent story).
2- Based on BF history every release usually takes 2 years in the oven or 3 years at max .
3- BF 2042 been released on Nov-2021 so up to Nov-2024 that's will be a full 3 years and i don't think EA would extend the production to 4 years (They need Money).
4- Do you know Tom Henderson ? His leaks about the next BF has begun and if you remember how he started leaking news about BF2042 early 2021.
5- Conclusion: The release of the next BF will on Nov-2024.
Everyone in the community has pretty much agreed that a Holiday 2025 release is very likely

DICE LA is the only hope for the franchise if the other DICE studios don’t get new and better developers that know what the players want, how a battlefield game should be made, and how the games were made in what’s known as the golden age of battlefield. (BC1-BF4)
i want WW1. I hope for a Battlefield that has all the historical periods represented for maximum fun. Of course there will be serious single periods game modes.
If they bring back full on destruction back with building leveling i would play it again and they better add a campaign to show off all the wonderful destruction or else its gonna fail again
the team behind this new battlefield is lead by the creators of titan fall + apex legends which also made the best cod game ever in mw2 an mw1 so this next battlefield is in good hands its just ea an their stupid executives ruining everything because they want to chase trends
I’m pretty battlefield players want a modern war setting like bf3/4 and bc2 but have to destruction and movement like bfv, but I’m not optimistic about the next game until we the players see actual gameplay and not marketing trailer to draw excitement and to draw players to preorder the game which what ea wants, the standards need to be high, but the player base morale is low it shows

2042 was cross gen on ps4 and xbox one this is part of the reason why it didnt live up to the hype.

Doubt anyone is gonna buy until the reviews actually say it's good. In the meantime, the finals will take off. Given how shitty 2042 has been, I am no rush whatsoever to continue the franchise.

What was wrong with the "old" Frostbite engine, the one that worked and supported the most visually awesome release BF1? Instead, we got a busted "new" engine that couldn't barely surpass BF2 destruction, not hold a candle to BF3\4 destruction, and could only dream of BF1 level of visual fidelity. Some have said 2042 engine does better weather, but I would just point you back to BF1 weather. BF2042 tornado is just a gimmick which you ride to see how high you can go, then novelty done.
With VinceZ leaving (he was helming DICE LA aka Ripple) I think we can safely say BF is looking screwed. VinceZ saw something coming that he didn't like, and decided to leave, reputation intact.
Stop chasing loot boxes (sell cool skins forchristsake) and Battle Royale (Death Match by any other name), others do it better, at best you are VERY late and the trend will most likely have moved on by the time you get there... and no one played Firestorm, so no one cared about BR.

I'm gonna stay cautiously hopeful. It could be great, or it could be another disappointment. It would be an absolutely amazing surprise if they're able to bring back level destruction to its former scale and glory and bring interior and exterior wall damage precision up to or beyond the level of R6: Siege.
Also really hoping they'll give some attention to interior and urban environment close quarters maps. Sniping is cool and all but to build a whole game catering to sniping is wack.

A return to generic military looking class system is what we all want and is very likely to be returning. Specialists can be done in a small competitive game mode but should never be the class system replacement
People need to stop preordering games. Unless you get a free weeks demo like bf3. Peak bf in my opinion .

Was disappointed with BF5, was disappointed with BF2042.
