I bought a 55 inch s90C as my PC monitor last year. If you are concerned with the size on your desk and want to make the picture smaller, you can adjust the pixels to 21:9 mode in the gaming options for 3840x1600. My Nvidia 4090 interprets this as native resolution and will go to 144hrtz. This results in a ~50 widescreen image with black bars on top and bottom. If that is still too big, you can set the resolution to 2560x1600 or 2560x1440 (while still in the 21:9 game mode) and you will get a 16:9, 35 inch image with black bars around the screen. I can't measure brightness but it seems even brighter like this which may be the ABL not dimming as much since you are not using the whole screen. So you get a very flexible device for full 55 inch 4K (with full TV app features and PS5 and Xbox series X 4K compatibility), about 50 inch widescreen, and 35 inch 16:9 reduced resolution display all at 144hrtz and all from the same device. Its much brighter than the new 32 inch QD OLEDS and when I figured out the 35 inch setting (albeit only at 2560x1440 resolution) decided not to purchase one.
@Games_and_Tech It's simple. Much higher brightness for HDR, noticeably richer color volume, better game mode that maintains HDR brightness and color saturation. People that own these (such as this person and myself) along with reviewers keep trying to sing the praises of how superior QD-OLED is to WOLED but there is still an army of loyal LG fans fighting that good fight I guess. I have a aw3225qf but I’m thinking of returning it because I can get a 77“ s90c for 800 bucks more I play only cod / wz on ps5, so I feel like I’m wasting the 240hz of the Alienware, I mean I have a 4090 pc but the game is unplayable on pc because of cheaters, for console I think this tv is much better than the the oled 240hz displays, cuz u are limited by the 120hz refresh anyway
Go for the S90C. Seriously. QD-OLED totally trumps non MLA WOLED. DV or not. The higher peak brightness means they don't need dynamic meta data for HDR the way the C3 needs it. And the wider color gamut is very noticeable. Also if you game at all, that too looks better on the S90C
@@raphaelmuller1919 DV in gaming continues to be buggy as hell and not recommended. S90C also has 4x 2.1 ports and 144hz support. You seem to make your recommendations based off of spec sheets and not actual research...
I look at various reviews from HDTV-TEST, RTINGS etc. and the only argument for the Samsung seems to be the more intense colors of the QD panel. I would then buy a QD-OLED from Sony, as Samsung usually does not have authentic color calibration and does not have Dolby Vision. What about long-term burn-in tests for the QD-OLEDs?
My concerns with this TV are two fold- the processing and the reliability. Buying a TV (and selling off my old one) is such a hassle. I don't ever want to have buyer's remorse as the process of selling/ returning one is such a pain- especially at 77"+, where it can't fit into a standard passenger vehicle.
I got burned by an S95C with signal dropout at 120hz and 144hz. I'm having trouble trusting Samsung again, but no doubt their picture quality is incredible.
That was a specific issue for some reason with the S95C one connect boxes. Don't think other 2023 one connect models had that issue. And it seems like it was resolved for the S95D. But yeah wouldn't recommend the S95C for that reason. Luckily the S90C is just as good for less money. Really was the deal of 2023 and now still a few months into 2024 it's a best buy. Just gotta learn how to deal with Samsung's UI quirks but that image quality is worth it for me
That's due to the 40GB max HDMI ports vs the normal 48GB needed for 144hz. If am not mistaken 120hz at 10bit is like 39.8GB and 144hz 10bit is 47.8GB but some people managed to get 144hz without issues.
@saadhero9107 It's not that. The boxes had buggy boards in them. People that have had the boxes replaced/repaired and people with S95D haven't had issues. Also other one connect equipped models didn't have that issue. Was something specific to many (but not all) of the boxes included with S95C

I play only cod / wz on ps5, so I feel like I’m wasting the 240hz of the Alienware, I mean I have a 4090 pc but the game is unplayable on pc because of cheaters, for console I think this tv is much better than the the oled 240hz displays, cuz u are limited by the 120hz refresh anyway
wish Samsung would support Dolby vision. Probably gonna go with a c3 65in as the deal on that is really good. Im coming from a c7
@@stephenpatterson8056 is there a for sure way to know that its a gen 2 version?
G4 is best for gaming. Also it has 144 hz + Dolby Vision + 4xHDMI 2.1
Too late. Already mounted my LG C3 😂. It still looks good tho
Anyone have flickering issue when you watch sports like football or see speedy motion? I have s90c 65 inch and it has this flickering issue.
What do you mean by flickering? Do you use Filmmaker mode and motion offf?
C4 👑
Dude when are you going to do the tutorial on buffing out the matte finish on monitors?? Nobody cares about these TVs. You got to start making more unique videos to stand out on RUclips. You will be the first one on RUclips to post it. How do you not see a golden opportunity here??? If you don't do it soon I am...
but but but I just bought the acer 4k mini-led xD
Just wish Samsung supported Dolby Vision
My s90c has the v1 panel :/
That unfortunate
how can you tell if its v1 or v2. is there another way other than the secret menu?
What's the FA0X value on the back?
Is the X = 1 or = 2 in your case? But that aside your panel won't be that much different compared to v2.
@@saadhero9107 FA01
Yes.me too, but I'm happy with it )
S89c is the same panel just a different stand for way less
I find it funny you feel it can't be beat yet even Samsung recently partnered with LG because woled with MLA is superior to qd OLED and they want those panels in their displays, why is that 🤔
It is not really superior. Colors are better on QD OLED, also the viewing angles are better (no tint).
I agree, and annoyingly I waited a year to buy it for cheaper and it isn’t even available anymore, at least not th 55 inch I’m after. And sites that do have it overcharge. So yeah this whole world just sucks ass
I can still get the S95C through my distributor but they are running low price is almost that same
💀💀💀
@@thedisplayguy why skulls?
@@thedisplayguy yeah $1400 now instead of the $1300 a year ago I should’ve just bought it then! I considered buying the LG C3 from Costco for $1300 but even today the s90C is still the better choice. Idk.
Do not buy if you have a Denon receiver.
Why? I'm about to buy one and have a denon amp
@@bigcoupie55 it won’t pair the eARC connection, so you can play media on the TV but you won’t get sound from the TV tot he receiver. I’m about to buy a different receiver. Wish I had known.
@@bigcoupie55 the TV won’t push sound through the receiver, it isn’t a two way connection. And using different ports doesn’t work either.
Bought 65inch S90C for just 950 euros (Germany). Good tv, but Philips OLED (series 8 and 9) has better picture quality, DVision and better audio support and stronger sound.
From Germany...
Where did you buy it for 1k euro? At otto its still 1500 euro for 65 inches..I want to buy one.
@@lanreariwayo6416 I purchased from other EU country on sale (905 euro exactly, with 5 years Samsung's warranty). That was just one time big sale.
