my mom gave us a hot jello drink when we were kids and had a really sore throat. (let child choose what flavor they would like). mom used a coffee mug and we are seated safely at the kitchen table. open jello packet and put 3-4 heaping teaspoons of the jello powder. seal the bag and save the rest for later. add boiling hot water and stir constantly until very well mixed, not gritty. Let this cool before letting your child sip, depending on your child's age do not leave them alone with a hot beverage. Use your common sense. You might need to supervise every moment. Kids love this because its sweet, its very soothing because its gelatin and it coats the sore throat. Plus its warm, it feels very nice. Good for adults too.
