    Guys I'm so grateful for this video 🙏I only recently discovered chili crisp and I'm like "how have I never heard of this as a hot sauce fan😅" I went down a rabbit hole and discovered so many Brands I don't know which one I like. I know I don't like too much sweet. I like Savory with medium levels of heat. To go with my Momofuku noodles. Which ones would you say is the best for that?
    Also your tongues must have been so numb after this😅

      We welcome you to the Chili Oil Gang 😂 Depending on how crispy/crunchy you like your chili oil/crisp, you might like Zindrew (regular) or Boon Sauce (depending on the batch as some are more spicy than others).
      If you like it more crunchy, Kari Kari might be your best bet.
      Our latest taste test had a lot more medium/mild ones so you might wanna check that out too :)

    Lol I can’t afford all these expensive chili crisps, I got two fly by Jings at Costco for $16 on sale which seems to be a good price and I still was like ‘dang that’s a lot’. I like it but I’m not sure how much better it is than Lao gan ma. I’ll have to buy some and do a comparison. Plus the fly by Jing seems to be about half oil which is kinda lame. The oil itself tastes good but that’s a lot of money for only a half full jar of bits.

    • @whatsup968

      I work at an Asian grocery store and FBJ sauces are one of the things I'm in charge of ordering. Idk how much Costco buys them for (they can buy more at a time than us so they might get a better wholesale discount), but at OUR store that would be us selling them at a loss! So from that perspective you got a great deal and I totally would have leapt at that sale
      Also my boss was also confused as to what makes the sauce worth the money
      But people have even been buying the massive $32.99 jars I ordered lol

    🙄 Jing is just good at marketing and jacking up prices to convey false and unwarranted quality that haven't been verified. Unlike Huy Fong Sriracha, which is Made in USA with ingredients grown in California, Jing's sauce is made entirely in China. She dropped buzz words like "high quality, locally sourced" foods. That only works if we also live in Cheng Du and know how these chili and ingredients are actually grown. Otherwise, it's NOT local and the well-known poisonous quality of Chinese produced foods have been well-documented. The reason these "fly" restaurants she referred to featured such "cheap" prices that customers gathered like flies is because they weren't always above using gutter oil, vegetables, meat, and seafood awashed in chemicals, even cardboard "meat". China's bad food quality is so well-known almost everywhere that during the recent Olympic, warnings against eating food there were given to all athletes while only specifically grown foods from farms with stringent inspections were allowed in. On top of this, a 28 oz bottle of California-made Sriracha is about $5-$6 retail but 3 6oz jars of Fly by Jing sauces direct from manufacturer is $42, EIGHT times more expensive! Kinda ridiculous if you think about it...

    • @PeterLisaKim
      @PeterLisaKim  Год назад +3

      Hi there. There's a lot to unpack here but we'd like to chime in.
      One thing we can agree on is that Fly By Jing is great at marketing. Everything we purchase is emotionally driven and 'buzz words' help customers on their buying journey. Nothing out of the ordinary there.
      However, in the same way, using words like 'poisonous' isn't fair and although likely unintentional on your part, does harm to the brand and anyone who does business in China.
      We'd be naive to think that there aren't any cases of health/safety issues in China but Fly By Jing is doubling down by becoming a Certified B Corp (which was revealed to me by a member of their company after contacting them). Which is achieved through strict compliance.
      As for the price, it doesn't make sense to compare Fly By Jing to Sriracha. Especially if you're comparing 1 bottle of Sriracha vs a 3-pack of Fly By Jing.
      We know that it sounds like we're being Fly By Jing stans here but we appreciate their efforts in fighting against stereotypes that Chinese foods/products are low quality and must be 'cheap'.
