      I have always had a weak spot for Alias and her companions. In a way it would be nice to think she just got to live out her life and had her happy ending, of course, but she just never got mentioned again.
      I also thought that Halaster Blackcloack deserved better than what Dungeon of the Mad Mage did with him.

    As a teenager I got my introduction to D&D rooted books with Dragonlance, but Spellfire was the first Forgotten Realms book I ever picked up. Spellfire was one of the first Forgotten Realms books I ever read and had no idea what the Forgotten Realms really where. Back then Any RPG books were hard to get here in Germany. For example, the Mystara Setting was practically unknown around here. But back to Spellfire. What I like about that novel the most to this day is that we see what happens, probably to many, adventurers in the Realms. They simply die, because they walk into something they have no hope to beat or survive. Not that I dislike the rest of the book, but that is something that, to this day, is rarely shown.

    This was a lot of fun! I've been a total Forgotten Realms fan since the late 90s, and frequently tried to absorb as much detail of the heavily detailed setting as possible, so hearing the neat, detailed backstory of this NPC was great! I find it also funny as two of my favorite "recent" characters I have used only exist because Manshoon (one of them; the one who remained in Zhentil Keep, in 1370 DR) created them. Each is a mutually exclusive variant of clone he made; one of an enemy he sought to control, and the other one of his own backup bodies, that gained sentience without the soul of the individual moving into it, so I guess I'm more fond of the Manyfaced Mage than I probably should be, and learning about another of the people associated with him was a great way to spend time!

    If I understand Mulhorand correctly, some of the egyptian gods rule together through mortal incarnations, setting aside personal conflicts. But do they play these conflicts out in Mulhorand on a minor scale, or do they put them aside entirely and play them out on other worlds instead? Also, is there a clear hierarchy to the gods’ incarnations or do they all have equal political power?

    • @edgreenwoodofficial
      @edgreenwoodofficial  8 месяцев назад +3

      Neither. They vie for power all the time, their influence waxing and waning, so not equal--but also, not a clear (undisputed) hierarchy. The gods dispute among themselves all the time. Other incarnations of these gods fight each other on other worlds, as well.

    I've been a fan of Forgotten Realms even back during the original gray box days, and Manshoon and the Zhentarim were always my favorite baddies- kinda like Spectre but in DnD. But it was relatively only long after did I ever find out what he actually looked like, that he was pretty much Cobra Commander lol. Even the Spellfire novel never really mentioned his appearance, just that he 'shed tearr' when he learned of Shadowsil's death (which was noticed by someone, who must have had sharp eyes to see that with the mask). Anyway, intrigued at the Shadowsil book, but she came off as just an evil, nasty villain in Spellfire, didn't ever show any sympathetic or redeeming side, just that Elminster said she was nice when she was younger... well, she changed a lot lol

    Hey Head Wizard 🧙‍♂ Yes it's me Lord Rodney from the novel I'm writing, Congrats on the book mate. I have sort of a dilemma Head Wizard naturally as to why I'm using this platform ATM. I have a power creep problem, what else is new, right, I have everything like at a +10 out of 10 - Shiny and glowing, you bet your ass they are, I've added Magic metal powder which does 15% to only a varied of stats, to all things it's near, excellent in gardens as you imagine and opposes darkness, makes them feel like they have bugs attacking them, mixed with Revel powder does wonderous up on the tower walls and from the Airships as well. Now comes the StarLight Mana of Quintessence as The planet was promoted to make Hero guardians for The new realm under the Heavens, Ahem, Yes the point well, since the One True God has done the recycling of the First World and the Shadow World, as they were not connected I know, I was wondering or pondering to take out Asmodeus the lawful devil first since he is the easiest or to take out, or Chaos of Evil of Demons, well since I'm the 8th Element the, a weaponized weaponry, and Avatar of the One True God in Spiritual form.
    Or Is there a tale or story I'm missing out on from the ancient past, that would allow some more creativity for us as Hero Guardians to say battle firsthand. The Demon Kings and Portal Demi-Gods as they're not quite up to par anymore, naturally and we need experience not skill points, as we have them by the truckload currently. We might be looking for our Death Star battle as it were, to make a name for ourselves as hero stories go. And well yes the Starlight Mana THC.. one lick is all it takes and you flying absolutely. yes, it was reduced into a buff potion that allows one to see other's silver cords and strengthens your own by 10X its normal size and gives off a protective glow doing it, repelling darkness, and even breaking the Queen's cursed ring, family heirloom thing.
    With my "Meta" P-leveling system I have fashionably coined and being the weaponized weaponry, of course, we are going to have power creep, The One True God is not going to send someone from the other side of the Multiverse to give someone a band-aid and a hug. Never give a Sigma INFJ Savant, Death Experienced, Magic and make them a Wizard 🧙‍♂with a AI simulator, that's just asking for trouble to start, naturally.
