What kind of campaign would you run in Veldorn? I'm curious what your party's aims would be. 🤔

A party of monsters (kobold, kenku, orc, etc) that work for one of the local lords. Nice shifting political intreague campaign (ala Game of Thrones) but with more beholders.

If the country is stable among the tribes with undead, giants, and all other monsters being good neighbors. It would be hard to set a group to go in there. I have an NPC I was thinking of that the players can escort quest the diplomat cleric that is blind but not completely defenseless. I don't know what objective they would be aiming for as I'm not too familiar with Veldorn. I would have to find a group of lore egg heads and mind link with them to come up with scenarios.

Perhaps an archmage has tasked an adventuring party with locating research notes and arcane items linked to the wizard who first summoned the monsters into Veldorn? The party therefore must be careful to keep their heads low and their presence undetected by all the monsters.

Mr. Greenwood, I Can see a new campaign were a group of displaced people led by great adventurers and perhaps an exiled noble/heir to the throne/a king or queen that lost their old kingdom either by war or some other disaster. The players who have to carve a home out for them all by either battling the monsters, teaming up with one group against another or some combination of them. The final goal is to tame the land and get rid of those that prey on the people and bring peace and order to the land.

I conducted my largest and most successful campaign, to date, in Veldorn!
The party entered the fractured Kingdom in the months leading up to the doom. They had to uncover both the murky past of the divided royal family and the dark plots which were building quietly. Deciding ultimately on whether to unify or divide the land, whether to side with good or evil, whether to seek a rightful leader or whether to instill a party member on the throne.
If the party had done nothing, history would have played out as expected and Veldorn would become the Beastlands, however their actions would directly affect the outcome, in a sense, reshaping the regions history.
It was a very fun campaign to write, especially blending my own material with the preexisting forgotten realms lore.

This is great stuff. Always been a big fan of the Shining South, and it's great to know more about Veldorn.
If possible you would do more videos on the South, would be great to know more about cities and tribes of the Shaar (how do their society compare to say the totemistic Uthgardt for example?), also perhaps Ed's take on faith of the Adama in the Shining Lands. Also... what is modern Dambrath like, and are the Crinti all truly gone?

I just look inside my head and there they are.
Seriously: names always pop up into my mind. I say them aloud to see if they're unintentionally funny/too close to something real, then try spelling them in a way that doesn't look "real world modern." And that's it.

Another great Lore video. I wonder how long until a Rakshasa send someone to infiltrate my campaign's colony in Anchorome.
    ...
Do a video on Anchorome! The colony took a major hit when a player went AWOL and headed south to Fort Flame with a kidnapped party member. The player was good enough at RP to pull off being a villain so I let him and he was probably one of the best characters I've ever had in a game. He didn't sell the colony out to the native Wild Elves whom he now calls "savages" with real world disdaine. Greatness! Come Thanksgiving they meet the natives Elves again and then they'll have to survive the winter. The Elves meanwhile agreed to let them rent the land for some prayer beads but the colony thinks they purchased it permanently so come Summer that is going to be a thing.
I have been keeping a story on the Beyond forums but it would be awesome to do everything right and submit all my tables for an official adventure.

This was so cool-thank you! And here I was thinking I was well-versed in Faurunian; never even heard of Veldorn. So many possibilities…
P.S. Might you point me in the right direction for a cool color-coded map (dig that alliteration?) of Faerun like the one you used in this video? Thank you!

Please do more videos like this. I would love to run more adventures that take place outside the Sword Coast so these are great videos to get inspiration from. The only thing I might ask is can you list any known adventures throughout all of dnd that we might be able to look at for more inspiration.

hi Ed, I hope you find my comment and even more importantly find some time to think about it and gave a reply :)
So, you are probably aware of Baldur's Gate III success, would u consider working with them, giving them amazing story material for upcoming games set in your wonderfully crafted Forgotten Realms ?
All the games are afraid to go away from Sword Coast or Icewid Dale/Neverwinter Nights regions, I think it is perfect time with graphics being so amazing in this age and day, and a Larian Studio who has so much passion for creating wonderful games to explore more of Faerun or even further :)

I like adding lawful evil minotaur in to most of my campaign worlds. When I run the realms, this is were they come from. Militarist tribes of minotaur who have broken away from baphomet and now instead cultishly venorate Bael. The culture is 'Spartin' with a Mesopotamian aesthetic. And the bulls seek out ways to 'return' thier wings they beleave were taken from them when minotaurs when they were tricked into demon worship by baphomet. Objects that grant flight are highly valued, and wile full wizards are rare, they see the utility of magic in war so have a higher number of eldritch knights, war clerics, and artificers then you would think minotaur tribes were capable of, and they experiment on themselves to try and cultivate more sorcerer based bloodlines.
