I’ve watched a few other guys and they didn’t help what so ever, I always stockpile draft picks hoping to hit on a few but other than the top 30 players the rest r a hit or miss. I was scouting players why too long and only what there “potential” was going to be nothing else. Great videos and keep them coming!!! 🙏
I use 10 scouts in the United States 3 OHL, 2 WHL, 2 QMJHL and 3 in USA central to start I make sure that the scouts I hire for the central have A+ or A in the central and A or A+ in the east or west and hopefully they have an A in both east and west or an A in one of the Major Junior leagues so I can move them around once they are done in their specific region. In Europe I use 2 in SHL 2 in Liiga 2 in Russia and 1 in DEL and one in NLA there are always at least 2 scouts that have all A’s in DEL, NLA,XTRA and Iceland so after I scout the DEL in all 5 categories I move them to Iceland or XTRA league to finish up I also go to 300 so in the DEL for instance you are only scouting 9 or 10 players. The more A’s the better for Europe so you can move them to help other regions. I find the most any scout has is maybe 20 players. The OHL usually has 60 players to scout about 20 a piece. So I count from the first number from a given region as close to 300 and then split the duties and then when the assignment ends I rinse and repeat the next scout assignment until all 5 categories are done then move them elsewhere if time . This way they become efficient in other regions as well. I should say I actually play out all of my games so the pace is easy enough to stay on top of it all. I’m sure if you sim it would be a bit of a challenge. But this way you get the most out of your scouts
Even with Fog of War off, is there not value in having 1 or 2 Pro Scouts to scout NHL players? I thought Pro Scouts helped uncover player scheme fits with your head coach (ie. Line 2, Powerplay 1, etc), so you have a better sense of which players fit your team before you trade/sign them?
Just subbed. Great video. I want to do franchise mode with everything on to make it as real as possible. I'm also messing around with the sliders to make the cpu vs cpu games as realistic as I can. Are you going to have a series with Franchise mode everything is on?

The ability to hire scouts disappears between the end of season all the way to July 1st. It then opens again on July 1st. You'll want to check on July 1st every year, as AI GMs will grab the high quality scouts very quickly.

Great video, I've been playing franchise mode since Nhl10 and always used auto scouting. Never thought the scouting was this deep

Am I blind I don't have hire scout button... Just select, back, fire scout, change region, sort and scout info ...
@@dougiejdm it only appears at certain points in the season. I believe it goes away between the rfa deadline and the free agent re-signing phase

Why would you play like this though? Completely ruins the randomness of drafts and just adds tedious unenjoyable gameplay.
Because it's realistic you really think a irl franchise will just guess on pick? No they'd watch how they play
