How to use tie ups the correct way? I sometimes get a penalty. And also how to do net battles properly?

So tie ups only work when you can pin a player (With the Puck in their possession) along the boards. Once they've kicked the puck away or its been dug out of their feet, you will get a penalty if you continue to pin them for holding. For net front tie-ups, its more a matter of not allowing the net front player to get positioning for a rebound or pass. Simply holding down Left Trigger and Y or Triangle together will do this properly if I'm not mistaken

How to defend when your opponent is always shielding the puck or spinning around?

Line them up with a strong body check

Whenever i go for a bodycheck it feels like when two postitive magnets are put against each other and the game pulls me left or right its extremely annoying, im angling my analogs in the direction they are clearly cutting to and the game does this making me look lost on the ice @@Etanyos

Switching player sucks this year and NHL 25 I've been playing since 2017 and honestly this is the worst year we've had especially for Hut their rewards suck the XP path is garbage The cards are garbage you're forced to play NHL moments if you want the cards the markets are in this I was just watching this video to give you views

this is exactly what i've been saying. ea really fumble with this trash game, everyone just spams one timers and my ai players can't play defense for shit. we don't get rewards for rivals or SB, it feels like i'm working toward nothing other than seeing a xp bar move on my screen this fr the worst nhl

How do you not talk about tie ups in front of the net for stop tip ins or one timers???? Literally the most important thing defensively in the game and you don't talk about that lololol crazy

Hey i would like to ask you which controls would you recommend to play with Total controls or skill stick? I was long time Hybrid player however i decided to give new controls a try… I was div 1-2 player with Hybrid and i feel like i actually play worse on Total controls i guess because I’m not used to it 😂🥲…

@radeon_7745 honestly, I love total controls. I only really use the face buttons for performing breakouts, long stretch passes and cross crease tap ins with the vision passing. Beside that it's not very different from Skill Stick so I think if you can master it you'll be an even better player than you were!

@@Etanyos I agree with you i noticed how much better the passing is on total controls over Hybrid.. However for some reason i am just not used to Pressing RT instead of A to switch players… I ordered a Xbox Elite controller and il try to remap some buttons 😂 maybe that will help..

@radeon_7745 ooh yeah that could definitely help. Just give it time too, it won't take long for you to adjust to the new layout

@@Etanyos For some reason its just that RT button makes me defend worse too i could poke check and position my self way better when all i had to do is press A to switch and for passing too no idea why that is but i guess its just matter of getting used to.. I hope they patch the one timers though those are annoying atm
