This video is so great! The amount of advice and tips you give are surreal. Thank you Will for what you do for the music community. Looking to see if you might drop an ep of synth wave music. Would be so dope!
dope vid and track is a vibe! Question - why do you resample the group w/ out effect, then add effects to the resampled audio and then pitch it back to the -4 original? wouldnt it be better to just be better to keep the effects all on the group directly and avoid pitching?
My dude. Another dope tutorial!!! I had a Mac Plus with the 1mb(yes you read that right, lol) upgrade!! Methinks I gotta put Ableton on my iMac... loveandpeace.
He did that in order to basically save time. I mean instead of loading the same effects to individual tracks he just routed all the clips to one group and then resampled from group. And to achieve that old vibe he transposed the whole track 4 semitones down. Instead of going to each and transposing them.
I find it so sad how commercialized and soulless lo-fi hip hop and now synthwave have become. What were once creative and quirky movements in underground music production are now revenue-generating meaningless pieces of ambience being churned out as if there's some kind of machine producing it. Faceless artists, a faceless scene, with a faceless objective. Just music for the sake of music. This attitude is why AI generated "music" will eventually take over. I mean, if you want some background music while you study or wash dishes, that's obviously no problem. But I just find it sad how these genres in particular have been reduced to that status. Entire scenes of producers now working to effectively create "nothing music", sometimes solely for the reason that it's easy to get attention from (compared to other styles). Reminds me of what happened to bossa nova once Americans got ahold of it :/ No hate to the creator of this video btw. This is a great tutorial and the end result is pretty accurate to what was intended.
One of the few channels I drop a like for without having started watching the video
Dude, that means the world, it really does. Thank you!

Coming from the Chillsynth community it was very interesting to see Lofi Girl start to a Chillsynth sub label.

Really cool idea to resample with RC20 and pitch it. Definitely the vibe! I’d love to see an inspired by A.L.I.S.O.N. if you do more synthwave 😊

I did!!! Well spotted, thanks!
@@WillHatton Thank you. I made a track that I like a lot thanks to your tutorial
Fantastic video. I would love to see how to make the kind of tunes featured on Mark Farina's Mushroom Jazz compilations.
Good shout, that's that kind of Downtempo sound right? I dig it. Writing it down for an idea for the future perhaps!!
@@WillHatton It certainly is. I recommend starting with Mushroom Jazz 4. So good!
how would i do what you did for the analog synth chords, in fl studio?
cool vid could you maybe do a com truise or tycho tutorial
Love both artists! Absolutely adding them to the list!
Not very clear why you resampled and how you do that…exported the group as audio and reloaded it? Thanks as always very good food for thoughts here

could you maybe make a 2 8 1 4 tutorial?

Agreed. Nothing against this video (nice stuff here) but I think things like Lofi Girl aren't good for the quality of the genres they get involved in.
Usefull as Always! Whats that website you mention at 6:18? Gogoaudio?
