the way affordable housing works is that there is a range limit for incomes. lets say the range limit for this building is $15,000 to $49,999. for this lady. than as long as her income is in the range as stated then her rent should be no higher then $875 no higher or less. now if her income goes above the income range stated by a certain amount. then she no longer is allowed due to her income being too high. but if her income drops too low then so would face the same problem too. due to her no longer meeting the lowest income range for her family. the fact that her rent keeps going up when she is not only in the income range limits. but her income keeps going down tells me that the affordable housing owners are doing not only funny business to her and her family. but also to everyone else. which now makes a audit mandatory.
Denied lease renewal. Meaning regardless of the reason, the apartment complex chose not to renew her lease. They had every right to evict legally, the lease up. I don't think rent should have increased the way it was. I don't think citing her protest was a fair reason to evict but just like a tenant has an option not to renew a leasing agreement once expired, the landlord/business has that same right.
There's no such thing as affordable housing. It is just a term used by investors and slum lords to get permits to build over size project and get grants and subsidizing to offset the cost of contruction and kickbacks.

It is the insurance that is needed for the property that is forcing these increases and not greed from the land lord. It's not fair that rent increases. It should be the same price for life.
No. Cost of living goes up. Not fair for the landlords or companies take a loss.
@@autumnfragrance6326 You mean ‘fair’ like Candyland? Grow up. Life’s never fair. Understand cause and effect, statistics, visit other cultures, and don’t vote until you do. Learn calculus, read Solzhenitsyn, learn about the Holocaust, take a course in physics, bike 15 miles in hilly terrain, move a refrigerator or rotate a mattress, learn how to change a flat tire, carry 5 gallons of water (that’s over 40 lbs),` and unclog a street drain. Do volunteer work. Visit a ‘memory care’ ward. And then a children’s hospital. Watch nature programs of exactly what wild animals have to do to survive. Come back and tell us what progress you’ve made.
