Dimash is a 29-year-old Kazakh vocalist and composer; He speaks Kasakh, Russian and English and is learning Mandarin Chinese. He sings in more than 14 languages, plays 7 musical instruments. He graduated from the Kazakhstan University of Arts with a master's degree in composition and a doctorate in musicology. He also dances, acts and is an advertising model (he is 6.3 feet tall). He has received countless awards and honors around the world. He was in Los Angeles, USA, working on his new material that his fans (he affectionately calls us "dears") are eagerly awaiting. He is a kind, polite and compassionate person, proud of his culture and his country. He is known as the "best singer in the world."

Great reaction. You have absolutely no idea what you have uncovered. Dimash is the rabbit hole of all rabbit holes. I am 73, a musician and he is without a doubt the best vocalist currently alive. He has a 7 octave range, sings in 12 languages (most of his newest music videos are all in English) and is currently collaborating with David Foster here in the US. Fasten you seatbelt is going to be explosive ride. Taylor Swift may be looking over her shoulder! LOL

I have to say there is ONLY Dimash. He has well over 100 songs, in 15 different languages, and all are masterpieces. We in the US are almost completely ignorant about him but he has 1500 fan clubs in 135 countries. He is particularly huge in China where he first became known on a "Voice" type show called "The Singer 2017". S0S was his first appearance there. He quickly became very popular and almost immediately needed bodyguards. All his performances on that show are wonderful and a good place to start. When he released his first album in China it went Platinum in 37 seconds. His fans whom he calls his Dears follow him all over the world to his concerts. His next one, May 4 in Budapest has people coming from 61 countries. The one after, May 24, his 30th birthday, is in Istanbul in a stadium for over 42,000. Sinful Passion was "early Dimash" and has a few interesting aspects. The Eastern section was a funeral lament as a tribute to the band's dead lead singer. The man in the white shirt standing at the end is Igor Krutoy, a multi billionare Rusian composer who decided to come out of retirement to write songs for Dimash. You will see him at the piano in many of the older songs. And that slender "tiny body" is over 6'3 and he often looks like a giant in crowds.

He uses techniques from opera, modern lyric, ethnic, glam, hard rock and pop environments. Registers don´t apply to his voice. Not only male voice, no female voice, no alien voice: Dimash´s voice.

This is a cover of Sinful Passion originally by A´Studio. The bass and the piano players were part of that band and the second was one of the songwiters.

The man in white is Igor Krutoy. He is a very wealthy retired composer. He came out of retirement after hearing Dimash and began to work with Dimash regularly. Igor writes music that will showcase Dimash’s vocal abilities. If you’d like to hear one of the latest look up Strangers. The lyrics was written by a lady from Texas I believe but Igor wrote the music to it. You’ll be amazed I think. Also Dimash was first showcased outside of Kasakhistan in The Singer 2017, a Chinese talent show. You would really enjoy his singing in that show. He did some amazing covers like Queens, The Show Must Go On and Adagio. Two of my favorites.

There is an essential "other" about Dimash. I was a touring violinist for 30 years before I suffered a serious brain injury which all but ended my career. I could'nt bring myself to even pick up an instrument. Then SOS, Autumn Strong etc etc. I picked up my violin! It also amazed me how he would perform to thousands of people waving lights that lolooked like fireflies on steroids, He reached you as if he were in your living room. He is uncanny, ethereal.

DImash, the 8th wonder of the world. That is just the tip of the iceberg. You did not see all of his range. He sings in many languages while being fluent in his native Kazakh and Russian with English now a third with a little Mandarin thrown in for good measure. However, you will see him sing in about 15 different languages. You will also see him sing a host of genres, do unbelievable MV's, play instruments, dance, compose and even rap. The song he is most known for is SOS. Try the version from 2021. It will be in French and then hop on over to his latest MV.... When I've Got You which he composed. Welcome to the Dimash journey. Yes, we know he is the most brilliant vocalist in the world today. You first must be aware that the piano keyboard is unable to contain his vocal range. His range is C2 to F6, but he also has that D8 whistle register, the like of which you have never heard before. Control. Training. Stage presence. Passion. Immense range (you might think him a Castrato, but he isn’t). He is the complete package. It’s as if he possesses the next evolutionary step in vocal development.

Dimash sings here as a guest on the New Wave 2018 (international competition). Igor Krutoy, the man in the white shirt at the end, a famous Russian composer, music titan and initiator of the New Wave had invited him. Now, both are a "Dreamteam" and work together from time to time. They are friends, have a father-son-relationship.
... and of course Dimash donates the many flowers to hospitals and retirement homes.
The band that Dimash accompanies at this performance called A’Studio, who composed and performed “Sinful Passion” in 1998. The band is also from Kazakhstan (Dimash's homeland) and this Dimash performance has revived the song.

The World first saw him on Chinese show "Singer 2017", when his first performance was "S.O.S.". In THAT performance we had a 6 foot 3 inch young guy from Kazakhstan, singing in French, to a Chinese audiences, and... he had them in tears. Worth seeing that, or his even better 2021 Digital Show version.

Dimash is a 29-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And this in all registers (chest, mixed and head voice up to the whistle register). The transitions from one register to the other are so fluid that they are sometimes not recognized even by vocal coaches or professional singers.
His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of daily hard training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. And at his concert in Almaty, Kazakhstan on September 23, 2022 he sang in 7 languages in one concert! And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 16 or 17 languages so far).
He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how.
Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, intelligent, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this.
His concert in September 23, 2022 in Almaty, Kazakhstan was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong.
He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills.
He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. The gentleman at the end you see standing and clapping is the famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter Igor Krutoy. His and Dimash's collaboration created true masterpieces. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship.

SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione.
SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. What ever you do, do NOT stop now.. FIRST, go back to his first exposure to the outside world of his homeland. Start with the Chinese competition called 'I Am Singer-2017'. He performs 12 songs during the competition all of which are brilliant. Some you may like more than others but all are excellent. His first song is a French song from the mid 1980s rock opera called 'S.O.S.' followed by 'Opera 2'. He also sings Freddy Mercury's classic 'Show Must Go On'. AFTER you've heard his debut songs you might listen to a song he wrote when he was 18 called 'Unforgettable Day' at the GAKKU venue where he hits an incredible high of D8. Dimash is also a multi instrumentalist and he is also very emotional. Listen to him sing 'Daididau'. The lyrical translation can make one cry as it's based on a real couple. To hear him sing his bass notes, try 'Stranger' and please don't forget 'Samaltau' and 'Ikanaide'. The last 2 are incredible as they are sung in their native languages.
Enjoy your journey. I an older guy who comes from a career military father and an operatic coloratura soprano mother who sang all over the world. Before she passed at the age of 97, she got to hear Dimash and smiled at the 'angel' who was singing to her.

As I like to say; You have been Dimashed. Suggest you start at the beginning and watch SOS (2021 version), then "Stranger, and finally "Olympico." From there you can go down any number of genre rabbit holes as he can and has performed it all , including rap. A very humble man from Kazakhstan, classically trained, Multi instrumentalist, multi lingual (speaks several languages), sings in many languages, sells out his concerts in minutes, has a worldwide fan base of "Dears" whom he loves as much as they love him. There are a number of commenters who have attended every concert to date. Folks fly in from as many as 60 countries to see him perform. Once you fully understand how amazing he is you will realize two things. 1; he is the greatest singer alive today, and 2 he's an alien!
