Thank you, the ones I found on Pinterest show the tubing hanging out of the spout and I don’t want that. Could not believe directions are so hard to find on this. We have an antique one we are going to work on.
Omg, this is exactly the project I want to make. I have an old pump, but I wouldn't know how to insert the hose because the pump I have is closed at the bottom. Was yours like that too?

Susan Locklear I didn’t attached the wood to barrel. I made the platform larger than the barrel. The pump is heavy enough to hold it down and it does not move.

What are the adapters you used and how far up does the tubing go? This is exactly what we are trying to do with our pump.
Hardware store should be able to help with ftgs and adapters. I think I used a 1-1/2 bushing to 3/4 and a 3/4 hose barb and a few feet of vinyl tube

No mine was threaded on the bottom to except a fitting and adapt to a hose

Also you can see I put wood on the bottom of the platform to try to help it from moving side to side or fall in if it was hit
