The best instructional video I've ever watched... peaceful even, just listening to you work, and the birds in the distance. Not talking, yet understood entirely. Thank you ✞🕊
Loved this video! Was against a restoration prior because of the gasket issue. Was presently surprised as this is the same technique we use for our buggy wheels. Leather coils. I’m off to buy a pump we saw yesterday at a flea market. Awesome! Praise Yahweh for He is faithful and just.
What an excellent lesson , so well detailed so clear no Words and such pleasure to see how you achieve your job and the birth of that pump quite real ! Thanks a lot from France ❤
I’m going to do the same thing to my pump. After removing the rust in the inside did you try to paint the inside too ? Or leave it bare cast iron. I’m not sure what to do
Hello, I use it for gardening, I left it without paint. However if you use a two-component paint it might be a good idea to paint the inside too. Have a nice restoration 😎👍
Great and useful video... for gaskets: did you use 6 thk for both gaskets? Your pump is #4 ...do you know if the leather thickness 6 mm is suitable even for the Elephas type 3? Thanks
for the color there are many types, but if you buy something professional you don't have to think about it for a long time, mine has been in the garden for more than 4 years in the heat and cold and it is still in excellent condition.
Il mio Italiano e arruginito come quella pompa, Ithink I will switch to English Capo! I was surprised to see you use the pump to make the cup leather-prcise measurement, but risky(?) if a defect in the barrel. I have made these using two pieces of wood using the same procedure. The pump has evidently been repaired before since it has hex hardware. Most pumps are really rusty and I just replace the bolts and nuts, but with the original 4-sided version. Buona notte e Ciao.
Hello, it's a subjective choice, if it is functional and has no rust inside you can always do a conservative restoration. Mine was very rusty and the bolts were stuck as you can see on the video.
Well done 👍. Thanks for sharing. How much time did it take you over all ? One of my customer asked me to do the same work on his pump. I have no clue how many hours to quote. Thanks a lot
@@HobbyTimeRestoration thanks 👍 I estimated 10 to 12 hours for full renovation including painting and fitting it into the water well. Let's see where I land 😉.
Really nice restoration, I was hoping for some inspiration to undertake my own repairs, unfortunately most of my pumps components have rotted away. Very nice job though, well done!
Hello Thank you for watching In the garden they give a nice nostalgic touch, functioning or not. You should trying to make it work, it's a lot of fun 😉👍
Did you remove this pump from an existing well to restore or did you sink a new well ? If you put in a new well, what permits did you need ? I want to restore mine but also want to sink a new well. Great video !! Thanks.
Hello J, I have a rainwater tank underground in the garden which is used to water the plants and the lawn, the water pump it is directly connected with a straight pipe, a very easy connection. Thanks for watching 😉👍
Kind of sad that he removed the mounting tabs, pretty sure that it would have been mounted to the side of a building, and that the pump handle would have been mounted parallel to the wall

Thank you for your support 😊👍
Ottimo lavoro
😉 grazie
Excellent video, thanks

Hello, many people complained about the cut I made, but as you can see the final result is perfect with the cast iron stand mounted in the garden.
What thickness is the leather and where did you get it ? ty
Hello Joanna, thanks for watching
6 mm, I got it from a shoemaker friend, it is used to make shoe soles 😉👍
Lovely restoration and nice to see it in operation as well
Thank you for watching 😉👍

pardon me once more.. any brand suggestion for the 3 spray cans: the anti rust primer, the green paint and the cover?

Hi I’ve a similar old pump, and it’s got lots of age /patina should I spray or keep as it is

I restored it in my spare time, I never look at the clock, unfortunately I can't really help you with that
@@HobbyTimeRestoration thanks 👍 I estimated 10 to 12 hours for full renovation including painting and fitting it into the water well. Let's see where I land 😉.
wow 😲
Nice work!
Thank you 😉👍
24 ore
Buon restauro 😎👍
Grazie

Beautiful job! I have one in red that my father in law painted for me. Not sure it would still work. I just use for decoration.

Hello Bill
Thank you for watching,
mine it is connected to the underground rainwater tank.
Have a nice restoration 😉👍
Love the videos of your restorations
How did you install it?!!!!!!!
Hello J, I have a rainwater tank underground in the garden which is used to water the plants and the lawn, the water pump it is directly connected with a straight pipe, a very easy connection.
Thanks for watching 😉👍
I want an old well pump just like the one in this video. How much do you charge for one? I’m in Alabama.
Hello Anna
I don't sell it, I fixed it to keep it.

Back to life 💧
How would you remove a pump out of the ground. I know where one is and it's a little bit loose at the base
You essentially have to cut or disconnect the pipe that goes down into the well
Kind of sad that he removed the mounting tabs, pretty sure that it would have been mounted to the side of a building, and that the pump handle would have been mounted parallel to the wall
So....can you show it actually pumping water?

I did on the end of the video
That's amazing! Great job.
Thank you for watching 😉
😍
⭐️🔥👏👍

How much are they selling for
Now restore that bucket.
