I would recommend you to hold on a little longer until Apple release MacBook Air with M4 Chip. I have one with M3 chip 16 GB memory 1 TB SSD... It's really fast and never any problem to edit pictures or 3D. But to be really sure to get an even better work horse is to hold for the M4 chip. It's crazy fast. And don't cheap out on memory, that will cost speed when editing. MacBook Pro is of course even better, but the price is so much higher so the question is if it's worth it.
I planned on taking my Chihuahua/ Miniature Pinscher mix Pancho with me while traveling in my Model 3 but he unfortunately died unexpectedly a few months ago before I planned on leaving. Until 2 years ago I also had a Pomeranian (Buster). I planned on getting another Pomeranian but Pancho was so small that he was perfect for Tesla camping. He only weighed 4.5 pounds and loved sleeping and hanging out on the bed in the back. Buster loved going in car rides but I don't think he would have liked living in a car for long stretches. He was big for a Pomeranian though (13 pounds). Maybe a smaller one would like it.

Have you considered getting a Chihuahua/Jack Russell as a companion. This size of dog is very easy to care for and provides so much Love.

MacBook Air 15 should suffice everything you needed 16gb 1tb or more. Quite workhorse of laptop
