Very helpful tutorial! Clear, concise explanations and I also like the arrows. This video has made me really understand the reasoning behind everything. Thanks a bunch!
I cannot get over how incredible your skin texture is! Can you please share this base routine up close? I have never been able to get makeup to look that natural!❤❤❤
Thank you! It’s more down to skincare, I’ve been working on my skin with prescription strength skincare for over a year which I think has made a huge difference. This base makeup is like many of my others, if you watch my other tutorials you’ll see when I zoom in for the eyes it’s the same. Sits very natural on the skin due to the application and the less-is-more approach. Although, it will always look more natural in this lighting as it’s strong. On a daily basis for this very natural finish I use No7 Restore & Renew foundation and I apply it with my fingers.
I always get so confused on using liquid liners or gel pots on the waterline. Some brands say you can't use it there etc... Could you possibly do a video in the future with the different liners and their purposes/uses? Loved this vid! Will deffo help me improve that cat eye look 😊
This is the only eyeliner tutorial that isn’t a massive strike on top of the eye- that look does not suit me at all, this dainty wing you have is so much more flattering honestly ♥️
Haha, okay try curling your lashes first so you can fully see the waterline without the lashes getting in the way, then blink onto the belly of the brush instead of trying to use your hand to manoeuvre the brush. I find that really helpful! Glad the arrows are helpful 🤗
@@ShonaghScottwhat about those that pinch their skin using a curler 😂😂? I don't like them and I never felt like they did anything the few times I've used one.
@@ShonaghScott I think the exact reasons why your video is so helpful are that you showed both eyes which most people underestimate how helpful showing both eyes is. Also your voice was so calming. It helped my hand to remain still and able to create the sharp and precise liner. Again, your video changes how I do my liner forever. Thanks.
Thank you! You could just apply some mascara if that’s your usual go-to. I don’t really wear it on my lower lashes unless I’m wearing eyeliner along my waterline too - that’s why I didn’t both in this tutorial.
Hi Shonagh, your eyebrows are stunning. Did you have them laminated? Can you recommend someone in the Los Angeles area? Your tutorial is perfect for me; we have similar eye shape. Excellent tips, an easy-to-follow breakdown, and I love your execution. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Maria, Thanks for the kind words! No, I don’t have anything done to them. On the odd occasion I’ll tint them for holiday but that’s once a year maybe. Here is how I tint them, and then also a tutorial on how I fill them in: Tint ruclips.net/video/FacdsR8bCCc/видео.htmlsi=IVCN-NClBbCFxDzx Fill-in ruclips.net/video/w1kYBVx4KnA/видео.htmlsi=x9Qziztet2_aT7fh
This is a great tutorial! I do have a question though. How do you remove the eyeliner from the upper waterline? I keep either stabbing my eye with q-tips or getting eye makeup remover in my eye 😬
I use this method: How-To Remove MASCARA With Just WATER | Shonagh Scott ruclips.net/video/cD7u29WwogE/видео.html Wrap either a cloth or cotton pad (with some remover on) over your forefinger, and place horizontally to the base of your eyelashes and then blink on to while simultaneously swiping upwards. You can also zigzag upwards to really work it between the lashes. Don’t overload your pad with remover or you’ll get in your eye like you said, that’s why I prefer to use just water and these microfibre style cloths.
Keep trying Maria! Even try with a dark brown eyeshadow, as that’s easier to remove if you make a mistake. Once you’re happy with the guideline, go over the top with liquid liner!
Yes definitely! Even I achieve different results with different products, some I really dislike as they make application more difficult. It’s definitely worth trying alternative products!
@@ShonaghScottNo matter what I try, they always end up uneven. Even the trick with the trajectory doesn't seem to work - I have the feeling my fave is to asymmetrical, as the angle is different on each eye when I try that...

Hey. What eyeliner are you using? I'm looking for a soft black eyeliner for every day look. All the ones I found are too dark. And I don't want brown
I’ve linked it in the description bar - it’s Sepia Ink by Bobbi Brown which is a deep muddy brown shade. Not Black I’m afraid.
Do you need to use a eyelid primer? Will the liner slide around without it after a long day?
No in my experience but if you have oily lids you most certainly can apply a lid primer :)
