Oh gosh, that tip about: 1) matching the outer tip of the wing to the highest point of the middle of the lid, and 2) matching the angle of the wing to the nose-to-eyebrow line ... ... ... Ma'am, that is the geometry I needed to vastly improve my wings and my confidence in creating wings! Thank you for sharing such a valuable tip.
I use this method on my deep-set eyes with the Revlon Colorstay, Line Creation, duel-ended pencil/liner, for anyone looking for an excellent and affordable alternative to the Valentino. It has long-staying power! Also, the Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara adds to the smokey eye-lined look. It's a softer look, especially for day time 🙏
I appreciate the minor struggle and short strokes applying the liner because it shows that I'm not alone with the way my skin is on my lid. You demonstrated exactly the way I thought was only my struggle! The smoked eye looked more beautiful. You teach less is more and I think that is why you're techniques always stand the test of time. Never a fad. Thank you!
This fabulous woman is the best teacher on RUclips and instagram 🥰 I’m 50 and the liner first method and placement WORKED 🤩on my 50 year old deepest eye , I’m so happy
Sunday morning not even 9 am and i'm wearing the smudged eye pencil/eyeliner wing above my yoga outfit. I watch your videos during my sunday breakfast and 9 times out of 10 immediately practice what I learned. Thanks for again a great informative video!
Love this video & so perfectly instructive. I love the natural smudged look. You are so patient & caring for those of us who are not makeup artists. Thank you so much for sharing this technique. 💖💫💫💫
I always thought I should be able to apply the liner in one swoop. I’m so happy to realise that it will take me a lot of time to achieve this! Now I know I must practise. Thank you for your expert tuition ❤
Wow, thank you so much for this video. I'm 34 years old and while watching this, I was able to do my eye make up in a way that I feel so confident in. I haven't been able to do that since, like, age 20! This video helped me realize I can't just use a run of the mill eyeliner tutorial because of my eyes being deep set and the shape. Working with what I've got, with your tips I was able to do my best make up look possibly ever. I'm going to a holiday party and my husband can't stop complimenting me! Thanks so much.
This video was perfect! Thank you Andrea! I have almond “squinty” deep set eyes and I avoid eyeliner because it’s so hard. I’m looking forward to playing with makeup in the morning. Your channel is wonderful, I love the feminine, classy vibes you portray, it is what I’m always trying to achieve with hair and makeup. ❤
I love both! I think it more depends on the particular look I am going for but I love the pencil when you want the eyeliner to be part of the overall look rather than the wing being the focus of the look. Thank you for the great tips!
Dear Andrea thanks for the class, I prefer the smudged one! And regrading the eye sight I got operated at the eye clinic in the champs Elysées and I'm soooo happy I did it! It's a life change you won't regret!
Hi Andreea, Thanks for the lesson. You're so talented, plus you're a great teacher! You're so good at breaking down the steps in any process. I like your smudgy eye better, and it just might be something I could achieve. I'm in my 70s and there's a lot of loose and crepey skin on my lid, so wish me luck! Lol ❤
I really appreciate this! I used to have that crisp sharp point down (i literally did my wings before a surgery I had to have, and the nurses thought it was tattooed on). But as I’ve gotten older (I’m 40), I’ve found doing eye makeup has been more challenging! My eye skin can’t tolerate much of any anti-aging creams, so all I can do is hydrate. I have smaller almond shaped eyes & lately I’ve just been putting on a tight line of shadow… i’m also SUPER blind without my contacts… I can’t get close enough to a mirror & hold the liner! Im excited to play around with this since my old technique can’t really cut it anymore!
I used to think I could never fill in my eyebrows. Now I do it with confidence. I used to think I could NEVER do a winged liner but I’m starting to do it. Some days I laugh at myself and roll with it but I will try the pencil. It looks soo good. ❤
girl, this is wow! You explained and showed everything so clear. I have hooded eyes, and I'm still figuring out how to do my eye makeup and still failing with the eyeliner. But I have hope and really want to try your tutorial, I think to start with the pencil only. Thank you for your videos!
You are really a true artist. I love the makeup you do and I adore the way you explain the use of all products, for beginners like me it is so helpful😊
I do prefer the smudged side. It gives the look of thicker liner toward the outer portion of the lash line. When I was a teenager, I "studied" the makeup of the actresses in the classic movies, especially the eyeliner. I have almond shaped eyes (but large eyes), and I mimicked how Audrey Hepburn wore her eyeliner to achieve that doe-eyed look. That's pretty much my signature look. lol
I really like the smudged liner. That is what I do. Pencil first then liquid liner. I have to work very hard because my eyes are also downturned as well as hooded…that have become more hooded as I age (just turned 60). I really like the way you demonstrated the technique. I will definitely have to try it. Thank you
0:38 I’m partial to the smokier eyeliner technique. It is a softer look and it would be easier for me to perfect. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise with us. I enjoy your videos so much.
Hello Andreea, thank you for your tutorial. I must admit I prefer the more smudged eyeliner technique, especially as I am on the more mature side. I really appreciate your technical approach and the way you describe the process in such detail. It leaves nothing to the imagination and gives a clear idea of how to achieve the look. I wish I had had a tutorial like this when I was in my 20s:} As always you look stunning before and after you have delivered the look you are going for. More tutorials like this please. xx
Pro tip - Glossier brow flick is phenomenal for sketching the shape or wearing as a wing. Esp in creased or hooded eyes. Only time I've ever been able to get it to look like I wanted. The tip is perfection for this.
Hello Ali Andreea I am really a huge fan. I dnt know if someone has told you this before that your voice is a healer it so soothing and refreshing I was having really tough times and then I came across your makeup tutorial video and when I listened to you I felt so good you are such a divine soul. Wishing you and your sweet family lots of happiness , good health and success ahead.Thank you so much.
This is also a great tutorial for us with shaky hands 😅 I do my eyeliner with both pencil and liquid eyeliner for years now! I would also add that small angled brush can help you create the guideline for the wing - just use it to draw the wing after using the pencil and then go with liquid eyeliner on top. It's much easier to use the liquid one when you have a guideline! 🥰
I prefer the more smudged as well and will do my eyeliner this way when going for a soft winged looked. I have been on the hunt for the perfect product to create this perfect soft smudged winged look. I love the product you used here. Would love to try it for myself. 👌💕
Dear Andreea, you did it perfectly, I can't even see the difference. 🤓Both sides look almost identical. 😍 Thank you very much for the detailed explanation.🙏 It's very useful for those of us who may not be so skilled, to know how we can achieve the desired line more easily. 🥰✨❤️🌹
I like and have naturally transitioned to doing the smudge style for my daily look. In my earlier years, I def preferred the clean sharp style. I'm in my mid 40s now so I do see my skin not as tight as it once was so that's a factor as you said and overall you are right and did a great job at explaining the process❤
Thank you for this video. I am always looking for techniques to shorten the time I spend getting my eyeliner just right and you have proven to me that it takes time! Perhaps you could do a quick version of a 5 or 10 minute eye liner look? It takes me too long to get out of the house! Thanks 😘
I love love love the detailed tips you share. I absolutely love the pencil/liquid liner combination. Not only is it easier, especially because I’m blind 🤓, but I personally think it adds dimension & gives a glamorous look.
I love this Andreea! Very precise explanation. As I am maturing, my right eye is more hooded than the left. When I create a wing liner, it suits each eye, as the shape of wing is more suited to each eye but they don't match/ or look balanced. Any tips for that please?
I am loving pencil eyeliner on myself these days, esp for the summer heat, stays on longer. But I also don’t draw the line all the way to my inside eye. I only do the ends, the wings. Know what I mean? You’re beautiful 😊
Same. Going all the way to corners is not good it closes my smaller eyes too much and they are slightly narrow set so I just keep from pupil to outer corner.
Brilliant tutorial. I can't believe there is an eye pencil/liquid with both as I do exactly this use a lighter pencil dark navy or dark brown pencil with my black liquid eyeliner. When I was younger just the liquid eye liner used to be ok but now one of eye lids is folding a bit and not super tight so this combo of products works perfectly (well on the ye thats not drooping anyway) Thank you Best wishes to your little one and family. xx
Ha! Just now seeing your video on eyeliner. Love both, but smudge is definitely my favorite. You have gorgeous eyes! Thank you, so much for the advice and the great tips. Beautiful lady 🌺
LOVE THIS Andrea ❤, but it looks good on you because you don’t actually have the hooded eye. It would be really good if you can do this same thing on a hooded eye model. You were the first beauty RUclipsr I ever started watching because of your technics, but eyeliner was something I was never able to do on myself because i have the most hooded eyes 😢
I prefer the smudged! I’ll try it..I’m getting into my late 30s but I’ve been doing winged eyeliner since I was 20.. I don’t wanna change but my skin is definitely drooping more..I feel like smudging a liner is much more forgiving!
Hi Andreea! Can you please provide the nail polish color/brand? Love the way the glossy lips and nail color pop against your bronzed skin 😍 so gorgeous!
Thanks Andreea for the comparison, I definitely will change my eyeliner routine to be more natural look, love your right eye look. Quick question, do you still recommend lower eyeliner?
Thank you Andreea for this video. So helpful for doing an eyeliner on hooded eyes. For me the combo pencil and liquid liner is fave and most suitable. Also he e small eyes and pretty hooded and a bit downturned also. Always ❤ your videos!! So much useful information!!! Thanks and have a nice weekend!!! 😍👍😁
Just recently I was thinking I have an eye shape that can never work with a winged liner… they’re very large, round, deep set, and increasingly hooded. I did the angles using the pencil and the height of iris as a stopping point (what was I doing before??) and voila, the perfect wing. I do have to smudge it inward and keep it light, but it’s first time I looked at myself after an attempt and thought, wow! This looks nice :)
I agree with you that smudge type of eye makeup makes the eye look more open. It makes the eye more prominent than the eye with just precise eyeliner.
And it's so much easier and more forgiving for those of us with an essential tremor 😢
Oh gosh, that tip about:
1) matching the outer tip of the wing to the highest point of the middle of the lid, and
2) matching the angle of the wing to the nose-to-eyebrow line ... ... ...
Ma'am, that is the geometry I needed to vastly improve my wings and my confidence in creating wings! Thank you for sharing such a valuable tip.
where did you get the second tip from in the video?! I cannot find it.

Best makeup techniques teacher on RUclips, hands down..Been watching for years and still learn new things. Love you girl ❤️
So absolutely true!
Totally agree, I just absorb so much information from her videos. She explains everything so well. ❤
Can we talk about that great nail color????
But what is it?! 😩
It's a softer look, especially for day time 🙏
❤
Revlon has great lipsticks as well. Really underrated brand.
I appreciate the minor struggle and short strokes applying the liner because it shows that I'm not alone with the way my skin is on my lid. Yes, love the pencil smudged look with winged eyeliner. Perfection! Love the Valentino twin eyeliner and lipgloss looks great on you!
It is FASCINATING to watch you do winged liner. I have NEVER been able to do it on myself. I'm going to try the pencil first!
I wish we could post photos in comments. I tried this and it worked out amazingly well. You keep revolutionizing my make up world.
Andreea, could you possibly do a video on the best way to line the older eye lid? Thank you so much! A tutorial would be so helpful.
As usual, informative, interesting and charming
This video was perfect! Thank you Andrea! I have almond “squinty” deep set eyes and I avoid eyeliner because it’s so hard. I’m looking forward to playing with makeup in the morning. Dear Andrea thanks for the class, I prefer the smudged one! And regrading the eye sight I got operated at the eye clinic in the champs Elysées and I'm soooo happy I did it! It's a life change you won't regret!
Dear Andreea, this is probably the best tutorial i have ever seen!❤ Could you please do a series in this style of explanation? Just wow and thank you.

I personally love the smudge side soo much better ❤. Thank u for teaching us. I love eyeliners and I already watched this video twice. Love love 💕

Thanks I love the smudge look..it is more forgiving if you aren't perfect at eyeliner. Great instruction as always.
Love your tutorials and your natural. Could you please tell me which nail color do you wear in this video ? Thanks 💋💕
Definitely the smudged eyeliner look. Gorgeous

Wow never realized how much of a difference it was with and without pencils smudge. I love the right side with the pencil! Thanks for ahaieng
The smudged eyeliner is the technik for me!! Thnak you Andreea!❤
0:38 I’m partial to the smokier eyeliner technique. It is a softer look and it would be easier for me to perfect. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise with us. I enjoy your videos so much.
I like the smudged softer line. Thanks for sharing these tips!
Hello Andreea, thank you for your tutorial. I must admit I prefer the more smudged eyeliner technique, especially as I am on the more mature side. This doesn’t work for me cos I’m half Asian (hooded but not deep set eyes.. winged liner isn’t my friend lol) but I had to say how beautiful you are 😍
Pro tip - Glossier brow flick is phenomenal for sketching the shape or wearing as a wing. Esp in creased or hooded eyes. Only time I've ever been able to get it to look like I wanted. The tip is perfection for this.

Wow, did this work for me. Just starting at the top of my eye made a huge difference.

The challenge is with downturned eyes where the crease/hood goes down past the outer corner. Classic wings dont work .
Exactly
I really enjoy Enjoy your sense of humour, Andreea.❤

could you please do a video about your favourite makeup brushes? i’m really confused about them and you are like the only one i truat in makeup ❤❤
I like the smudge eye! I'm so glad it's the easier one too! Thanks for teaching this to me darling! 🤍🤍🤍
Both are beautiful. I believe it depends when and where. For a night out I would prefer clean and sharp but for everyday, smudged.
I love love love the detailed tips you share. I absolutely love the pencil/liquid liner combination. Not only is it easier, especially because I’m blind 🤓, but I personally think it adds dimension & gives a glamorous look.
Both eyes look really good. For everyday wear the pencil is more doable, especially because of time.🌺
First one. Love all your videos, thank you for posting. Please tell us the name & brand of your nail polish! 💅🏻💅🏻
Excellent advice and teaching Ali!! Thank you! ❤
I love this Andreea! Very precise explanation. As I am maturing, my right eye is more hooded than the left. When I create a wing liner, it suits each eye, as the shape of wing is more suited to each eye but they don't match/ or look balanced. Any tips for that please?

Best tutorial of all times. Thank you!
Alli, you are wonderful! Thank you so much! I have not seen before any person who so deeply and carefully could explain the eye lineling! 😊😊🤩
Definitely pencil one💟
The smudge eye is my favorite ❤
I adore your makeup tutorials! Your nails look stunning! Can you please share the nail polish brand and color you are wearing in this video?
The smug is better. Never have seen that before. I love it
I love the smudged eye. I have shaky hands so it seems like smudged would be a better option for me. Love, love, love your personality and videos!
I miss your long videos, it's always such a great pleasure to listen to you❤❤❤ pupici
Andrea, please share the color of your gorgeous nail polish! Thanks. 😉

Love it, just ordered the liner
I like the smudge it looks so much better & makes the eyes pop ❤
The clean one! Classics never die!
Love the smudged options
I really like the nail polish. What is the brand and color, please?
Definitely the smudged!!
You make it look so easy to do it,but is not! And i prefer the smudge one. Andrea you are the best!❤
I appreciate your explanations, i have deep set eyes too and usually videos are about hooded...
Eye with the pencil + feltip...Love it!❤❤❤❤ Thank you Ali.....❤❤❤
LOVE THIS Andrea ❤, but it looks good on you because you don’t actually have the hooded eye. It would be really good if you can do this same thing on a hooded eye model. Hi, I prefer the smudged line look, particularly for my hooded eyes. Thank you for the very helpful tutorial!
You are such a good teacher. Thank you so much for all you do.
I adore your nails! I don’t think I could be so brave but they are beautiful on you! Is it the manicurist brand?💕
I was just thinking a week ago that I need to do a combo liner look like this. It was a natural evolution of thought for my eyes,
I absolutely love both but I love the smudge much better New subscriber
Definitely, the smudged combo!
Hi Andreea! Can you please provide the nail polish color/brand? Love the way the glossy lips and nail color pop against your bronzed skin 😍 so gorgeous!
I like the eye with the pencil first.
I prefer the smudged liner with liquid over it. Both are beautiful and love the technique tips!
You’re the best there is by far! Would you change anything for a more mature eye?
Thanks Andreea for the comparison, I definitely will change my eyeliner routine to be more natural look, love your right eye look. Quick question, do you still recommend lower eyeliner?
I think both eyes are beautiful, I however do like the smudged way better. I can't wait to practice this way.
I like the smudged look more ❤
Thank you Andreea for this video.
