      P.S. I really enjoy your colored pencil playlist! I would love to see you do a colored pencil tutorial on your live Friday show and I think others would enjoy it too because it's something you haven't done for it. (sorry-I would leave this on your blog but I cannot remember my password). Thank you Lindsay! I really appreciate you and your generosity! See you next time!

    I started using the brushes a while back after watching one of your videos. I love the way the ink just kisses the paper when using the brushes. This is a lovely card - totally enchanting!

    Beautiful Lindsay!! Ahh...looks like summer! :) When we had chickens, they would sneak up on the porch and roost in my flower pots with the cats! We also had ducks and one of the cats would lay on the ground and let our ducks "groom" her! lol!

    I use mylar for masks, only because my mum works for a company that make it and acetate sheets, you can also cut them with a cricut which is great. You can do all sorts of shapes that way. Living in the uk it's harder to get some supplies, but I managed to get a set of peg stamps from Amazon for a reasonable price, but they are still quite expensive. Take care Lyndsay. Wishing you a very merry Christmas. Thanks for all your wonderful videos. X

      thanks! It is such a fun technique! I also want to get some wide post it or eclipse tape for different masking but I can't justify the price so typing paper for me LOL!

      thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich Oh same - post-It tape is crazy! Have you tried those "sticky all over" post-it notes? They are great for masking, but I mostly use paper or I tape post-it notes together...!

    • @K_rye
      @K_rye 7 лет назад +2

      I like the super sticky full adhesive notes for masking. I got a large pack cheaply at Amazon, and while the colors are not really to my taste, they work great, and I can reuse them. I store my stamps in heavy duty page protectors and stick the masks to the outside.
      Something I have used for larger masks is printer paper with a repositionable adhesive spray. It doesn't stay sticky forever, but you can just spray it again if you wish to reuse the mask.

    I just recently found some goatshair brushes very similar to the Color dusters but in mini size at a German Christmas market. They are perfect for mini stamp pads and smaller areas on cards plus they were only 2€ a piece! I am definitive try them out with this tutorial

    I have some Derwent Coloursoft (6 pack I got for 3 quid) - how do they really compare in practice to the harder pencils like Marco Raffiné or professional brands? I'm not a big pencil user so I'm not too au fait with soft vs hard coloured pencils and which jobs each goes with and doesn't go with - do you have a video about that at all?

      PS: fell asleep watching your gingerbread house video last night on my phone. Woke up 5h later with your videos playing solidly for all that time and of course not skipping any ads etc etc - hope that boosts your stats ;)

      I have a colored pencil playlist here: ruclips.net/p/PLNxvOHHWCjFipd-MzHo2dc4hJEGkpwPHH And to tell you the truth the Coloursoft might be my favorite. I bought the 72 tin a few months ago but the 24 set is more convenient to grab for stamping so that it what I usually use. It is a matter of personal preference. I like prismacolors, or rather, vintage USA made prismacolors because of the soft opaque lead but they breakage is so annoying. The coloursoft are as soft and opaque, a bit less creamy but I have never had the leads break in the barrel. My friend Lisa at Lachari Fine art is the colored pencil queen and she prefers polychromos and does very realistic work over long amounts of fine. I work fast and loose so I prefer Coloursoft (a brand she dislikes because you can't put tons of layers) becasue I can lay it down thick and quick. I have not used Raffine. There are many great brands and they are alla bit different, like watercolors, you will find a pencil that suits your working style.

    • @TheSpinDoctor
      @TheSpinDoctor 7 лет назад +1

      thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich I think softer ones would probably suit me also. Raffiné are a Chinese or Korean brand (review on my channel some months ago) as I got some for £9 on Prime Day on Amazon, usually selling for £25 for the 96 set. Nice range of colours, they draw and Gamsol really well and all the similar-looking greens for example are actually different and distinct but they are very hard (they make a lethal point!) which i found a bit harder to colour as I like lots of colour very quickly rather than building up dozens of layers. If you see them for < $15 i would recommend getting them to review and give away if nothing else as you're far more au fait with coloured pencils and could do a valuable review comparing to other brands. I know they are becoming very popular in the USA as a brand and get good feedback and reviews on Amazon - popular with colouring books and so on I guess, mostly, but they are actually nice quality and come in a Kraft pulp board tube with foam padding to stop them breaking.
