Buell will always have an extremely special place in my heart. I will never get rid of my xb12s
This is one of the coolest bikes I've ever seen. The front end, the turn signal mirrors, the electronic start, the custome tool and holder, everything about it is awesome. Jay Leno is the man and I love this show but I wish he wouldn't have interrupted when Mike was talking about the engineering aspects. It would have been interesting to hear more about casting methods and such.
47 Ronin the most beautiful creation of Keanu ❤. The motorcycle looks like a fighter 😍
I had a sit down with Erik Buell but forgot to ask him about the Ronin project. I'll ask him next time and I love this bike! I need one!!!!!
update?
I asked him... "No I did not see a Leno program on them. I believe they originally planned to make money, but it's easy to have things get away from you! It's an interesting design and very arty, but honestly not one I would have made. That's not a negative, it's just that my engineering style has always been obsessed with function. All the radical stuff I did was to make something functionally better."
@@303Hammy Hmm, interesting! "Functionally better" I think is debatable, don't you? I am sure he caught a lot of flak over the years for those huge air intakes, so that probably didn't help. The front fairing probably had a huge aerodynamic benefit, as well as I would guess the lights being far superior to the Ronin's. As well as the tail, again, not sure about the aerodynamics, but I would guess that the DOT really push for the safety lights to be at the four corners, which is probably not something post production Ronins had to worry about. What do you think?
lol jay
I actually like the front-end because it's different. Magpul being involved makes the bike even sweeter!
Marc Hermosillo exactly people need an open mind. looks really futuristic, weird, and cool. Not just the typical cookie cutter motorcycle
***** Yeah, like something you'd perhaps see on the upcoming Mad Max film. Looks cool!
Exactly! I appreciate the weirdness/uniqueness, it's awesome!
Yeah I totally agree
And the thing about having a bike that you are only going to make 50 of, is that it really doesn't have to appeal to everyone, it just has to excite/grab a few
***** Yupp. Who wants a bike that looks like everyone else's? Not this guy.
Looks like a motorcycle that RoboCop would ride.
No one likes the front end but I'm in love with it.
I love it.
Kayden Skylar as far as I'm concerned it's just the right kind of ugly, like an A-10 Warthog or a battered Warrior.
June 29th 2015- Pikes Pike International Hill Climb. The Ronin came in #2 in motorcycles (and #10 overall) up the mountain. Congrats the Travis Newbold and the Ronin team for the impressive finish.
Magpul torquey pig, I miss my buell
@@buddhasha74 lol what were they racing this motorcycle should I be winning any races lmao
Beautiful piece of engineering. Shame these guys won't do more projects like this. Job well done.
I love this bike! It's stripped down, lightened with Carbon Fiber, and it's well engineered and sorted out. I've seen the comments about it being too expensive for what it is, but it's a one off and very limited edition run. Sure, you can buy a Kawi H2 or Aprilia Tuono for a lot less, but it's an American bike through and through. Erik Buell is an innovator. Imagine what he could have done without having to use Sportster engines for all those years; and Magpul did a great job with the design and function on this bike. 147 hp and 400 lbs is a good combination. The rake and trail on this bike make it a great handling machine. Granted, it there are two handfuls of bikes that will blow it away on the dragstrip, but most above average riders will be doing their best to wring all the power out of it.
I think it's a shame that America doesn't have a company that makes great sportbikes. If I had the cash to buy one of these bikes, I'd buy in a New York minute.
These bikes are legendary today, Buell Motorcycles is back (w/EBR line up), Erik Buell is making an electric bikes. I got a 23' Buell Hammerhead in June, and my Fuell will be here next December. The story continues!!
Looks like something you'd see in Mad Max. I like it.
Akira.
What mad max are you watching? Lol
Sehr gut ! Umgebaut!!
GLÜCKWUNSCH !!
FRONTFENDER EINFACH GENIAL!!
VIEL SPAß
THIS IS THE VERY BEST CHANNEL EVER IF U WANT TO SEE CARS AND BIKES THAT ARE BAD TO THE CORE ... Jay is the boss on the roads!!!
Keep coming back to this video for this beautiful work of art.
That's an ugly bike mate get some glasses
These are some great bikes !! I wish I could buy one . I have a firebolt xb9r . And I love it
love the idea of it. not thrilled with the front tho.
ClarkReviews They could only find 47 people willing to pay for that fairing
I m surprised. Mate mine is front
ClarkReviews It's like a fugly street hawk reject. :(
Martin Espinoza there is no fairing....
m0b00st try a dictionary. All the plastic parts are called fairings
a lot of hard work, dedication and passion went in to each one of these. truly impressive.
Thanks Jay ! Great what your doing here.I am just glad you also love Motorcycles. Peace and Ride Safe....
Love how this series is turning more cinematic, especially in the beginning!!
Ha! Apple keyboard, Apple mouse, Apple display, running Windows 7. :)
Kevin Vance Try doing the reverse with a PC. ;)
fmonk Why would you ever want to?
That's the point. You wouldn't and couldn't (in some cases). Not all PCs can be made to run Mac OS but you can run both on a Mac giving you flexibility; as opposed to investing fully in both platforms.
But why pay the premium for Apple hardware (worthless to us techs, but not to Apple guys) if you're going to run Windows 7? OSX isn't that great to need the dual boot.
///MSphinx Have you never heard of a HakIntosh? Look it up! A LOT of people do it. Much more than Apples running Windows. People do it to get a MUCH cheaper PC that's capable of running OSX just as good.
I love seeing one designer "fix" another designer's work. This is such a cool "temporary" company.
I love the front end, I've seen some similar ones (not with a radiator though) in custom built one-off cafe racers of recent times. Something "new" and refreshing. :)
i think the logic behind the perimeter brake is that it applies more torque on the wheel because the tangential force is being applied a greater distance from the center of the wheel. so you get to save weight by only having one big disc and small caliper instead of two small discs and two small calipers.
also the radiator and light placement is really cool. i really like those headlights.
Exactly that guy clearly doesn't understand the engineering behind it lol
Definitely a very unique bike. And what a sound it makes. I could see every ride being its own experience.
I always love this project.
Yes! It's awesome. Niche products are the coolest. Thanks guys
Fantastic Episode. Thanks so much for uploading
I love it!
The front-end has some kinda "harmonious monstrous ugliness" to it that works great!
Jay, the perimeter disc puts the stopping force on the outer rim instead of the hub. This allowed for much smaller spokes and a lighter wheel.
You are so right about the engineers and designers Jay.
Great legacy for an already great bike!!! Makes me proud to be American!!!
Seen one in person, I loved it !
Jay, can you please do an episode on your personal buell? The way you described the bike, it sounds like you have an XBRR, and I'd love to see it.
And this whole time I thought there was magic behind all this. Here I come!
@11:33 hes like "You put, you gotta...-__-"
Lmao I saw that too..
Trippsol Lol
Trippsol What was the designer trying to say?
***** we'll never know...
Trippsol He was going to say "then you push", not "You Put", but Jay hit the button before he could finish...Then he said "you got it", not "you gotta".
Looks Fantastic!!! Reminds me of the Harley LiveWire. Thanks for sharing Jay. U da man !!!
Hahaha can't stop saying it ,sorry but Jay Leno , you are the man !! Best Damm thing on utube ! Plz keep em comin
jay youve got some nice showcases here thanks for the great show(cheers to all involved in the show production.
Great interview.for everyone involved.
I'm kinda loving it. It's a refined piece of engineering with the front giving it the impression of butch crudeness. It's very Mad Max on modern day roads.
I saw one of these up close in Los Angeles. Very unique bike!
This was a visually stunning video.
It has a deep, throaty sound that I was not expecting. I expected more of a "buzzy" super-bike sound, but this has a much deeper note to it. I like it a lot.
Superb sound!
I hope Jay will put his hands on Rough Crafts bike someday.
Very cool and interesting artistic machines.
I know where there is one of these for sale, for the right person. An amazing bike.
Awesome bike. I'd buy one in a heartbeat if I ever find one for resale.
47 Ronin...good movie and cool bikes!!!
wow, a big thanks to the designers at Ronin for showing us the future of riding might be like. The look of this machine is functional and has much of a character. Again thanks ***** for an exclusive hands on demo of the whole package. I know we will see some amazing things in the next 30 years, but this is a taste of whats to come. They really did justice to the legendary 47.
Jay leno's garage show is great
Very cool bike. Really unusual front end.
Winter everywhere but southern California and southern Florida!
beautiful radiator
it's good to see something that looks different and good
good to see this and the past video are about bikes
A very distinctive bike in the RONIN, it sounds great, and is a marvel of mechanized work of art. It looks solid all around with performance, and is truly unique.
I love the idea behind the name.
I am loving the front.
Nice... I like these...
One of the better sounding bikes showcased on Jay Leno's Garage... IMO
Looks like something out of MAD MAX..... Very cool bike!!!!!!!!!
Awesome Motor Cycle :)
absolutely stunning bike, fair play and only 47....cool
Dident care for this when I first saw it parked in the garage. Then Jay took it out on the road, and I loved that low front-end. Poseble not to everyones tastes, but no getting around it be pretty cool to have just one Ronin parked in the garage. Not to mention all 47 of them
Thank you Buel, thank you Ronin. We need those bikes. Ronin bike looks like a bison, and I don't mean it as a complement. We need those ugly bikes though, because then we appreciate much more our beloved: Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Moto Guzzi, Ducati, Triumph, BMW, MV Agusta, and Harley-Davidson.
Very cool. Kinda reminds me of those robotic bikes from Terminator 4
Jay should have Keanu Reeves on with his new motorcycle.
He did
Two Motorcycles in a row!! Come on Jay we want to see cars!
22laith22 C'mon man... There's plenty of car videos around. Everyone makes them. We need more shows about motorcycles
jzm there's plenty of bike vids around, we need more shows about trains
NO! More motorcycles!
22laith22 I'd love to see more motorcycles, you can really tell Jay is a motorcycle enthusiast.
22laith22 I want Jay to get in to aircraft =p Lets see some exotic home built planes!
Great bike, really befitting name as well!
i really appreciate Erik Buell's engineering innovations and contribution to motorcycles. Adding a non-diving 'alternate' front suspension instead of the innately flawed, expensive gizmo supplemented telescopic forks usually found was brilliant.
Really great intro! The bike is very photogenic. I love the minor details like the keyless sensor. Riding positing looks very comfortable however, Jay looks a bit cramp.
Love the motorcycle videos. You should find the guy you interviewed at Pebble Beach. See if he finally got it started.
Thank you Jay...jeez you guys.
Breathtaking bike
Love and cheers to jay

India
Awesome ! We used to do all the marketing and ad work for Buell, some nice bikes XBS lightening was my fav and they are appreciating in price as I'm sure these very limited editions will, you should get the guys out from Airtech in Daytona with their Honda CR 750 race bikes 16000rpm ohh yeah ! Love to get on a one again but I don't think the body can get any more beat up !
one thing i would like to see more is more ridding and more like moto vlogs from jay
バイク製作って楽しそうですね♪
Not feeling the front-end radiator and speedometer, otherwise, looks cool.
CycleCruza Let's go for a ride.
SUBSCRIBE TODAY!
very nice!
a dream bike. id love one
Great video, as always
I actually love that radiator grille on the front. Its different. It makes the bike stand out. Most bikes all tend to look the same and the low gloss black is sick! Looks like something Batman would ride!
Epic bike!
this bike is a beauty
Great video and amazing bike
I rode a V Rod and was very impressed by the engine, it deserved to be wrapped in something better than pick one of 4 identical models (?). I rode an 1125, it must have been a bad one, low revs rattled and high revs buzzed, I liked the XB12R Firebolt much better. On the 1125 I spent the whole ride trying to convince myself it wasn't the motorbike it was me. No such problem with the Firebolt I bonded with it right away. The best part of the 1125 was getting back on my ZX9R for the ride home.
Jay Jacket has great character!!!
wow, 140 horses, that is very good. a few years ago I raced a Buell with my Kawasaki zx-6, and smoked it.
stunning
Very cool.
@Jay, The front brake is a zero torsional unit. By eliminating the torsional load in the spokes that is caused from braking, the wheels can be made much lighter. This is another amazing EBR design.
I have an 1125r and I really like it. Wish it was more streetfighter though.
+Jay Leno's Garage hey what's with the new video not being available in Canada. Very disappointing. I look forward to watching this on Sunday nights.
What an incredibly cool bike! Like something Judge Dredd would ride in the Mega City of the future in 2139. :)
Wish I had money to buy one, I would do it in a heartbeat! :(
We need a Judge Dredd remake with this bike! Everyone who agrees, hit the thumbs up!
great story great bike
Great intro.
these things are sick they look like something out of Akira! I'd love to have one but as of 2021 I have only seen 1 for sale, it was number 7 out of 47 and it was going for 75grand so I guess I'm not going to be getting my hands on one any time soon.
They have some for sale on their website but the cheapest is $50k. I don’t understand their pricing system at all. Some were $38k and some are $100k but they are the same bikes.
Looks great, could use a mini windscreen on top of the radiator though.
Interesting look. Good timing since the premier of Mad Max is this coming weekend.
