I cured my overbite naturally without relying on mewing. What you do is consciously hold your jaw in the correct position and stretch your muscles to accommodate it and build them up to support it on its own. After several months or years your face will grow with the forwarded lower jaw and the muscles will be capable of maintaining it. It’s important to exercise the mouth and tongue constantly since how you use those things will impact your facial development. Strengthening lip seal, doing tongue twisters (or fast rap songs), stretching the tongue, practicing enunciation, puffing out cheeks with air and moving the air from side to side all help exercise your face

I used to be overbite as a child, causes are probably thumb sucking, and other bad habits i did as a child, then i had braces at the age of 11, to align both of my teeth, as i aged, i also stopped doing those bad habits, and started to breath through my nose more, but my only regret was my 2 upper molars have been extracted, and i just lately found out that made my lips thinner after my teeth getting retracted, then as i aged more my face started to look abit normal, i started mewing at the age of 13 and ive seen changes but slowly since i used to have a weak jawline and chin, only changes ive seen was my jawline becoming tighter, and my chin moving forward, i can finally see my true hispanic facial features coming out. Also sorry if my english is bad.

if you have your toungue touching ur front teeth it pulls it back so put it behind the ridge on your front teeth

ive been mewing for about a year i have/had a underbite which was pretty bad but not the worst. tho my front teeth were behind my buttom teeth that isnt the case anymore. my front teeth sit really well now all i need is braces to line up some of my molers. but from side profile you cant tell i have any detal problems, and on top of that my jaw has gotten wider/ i got hollow cheeks so yes mewing works well and can help for anyone wonderin. and to note i have really great aesthetics with my side profile and front
How old are you and also what did you do? Just correct posture or some type of exercises?
@@iGoku1 i started after i turned 20 years old im now 21 tbh i dont think age really matters when it comes to to anything oral if u get what i mean. teeth can always be moved around and if you hold your touge in the same spot for so long there will be changes its like anything else really. and no not really as i always had somewhat good posture my whole life i didnt need to do any exercises just clean diet some weight training helps with posture such as push ups, chin-ups/ pull-up. and also to note mewing does work dont listen to the people who say it doesnt, when i first started i had pretty good facal strutre (good gens) but now its alot better. ive taken photos alot of photos over the progress, i also want to note that wghen i first started i was 78kg went on a huge cut to get under 10% body fat was sitting at 68kgs for more than 9 months, but as of right now im bulking up to 80kgs rn im back on 78kgs my face looks pretty much the same as i was on 68kgs so that being said everyone says its all about your body fat its not fully true but somewhat, my advice to you is start mewing while weight training your jaw will grow wider due to your testotrone being boosted, if theres anything else you want to ask feel free

Another question is how the occlusion should be? when my back teeth is touching i feel uncomfortable and hard to maintaining the tongue position. But when it is slightly separate(molars) and front teeth touch naturally it feel great.

same, when i mew my lower jaw moves forward creating a gap between my upper and lower molars/ pre molars and only front teeth touches together

Someone tell me what to do with an overjet. Overjet is caused by having narrow upper palate so the front teeth kind of flared outside of the mouth. Mine isn’t severe though. But the palate is quite narrow. So when I mew the sides of my tongue hurts so bad! And I can't even eat any spicy food (I'm asian, I kinda don’t have access to not spicy food lol) Do I continue like this? Will it get better? Or like what should I do!?😖

So if someone can answer this it would be greatly appreciated. When I mew, with teeth slightly touching and tongue at the roof of the pallet, my teeth makes an overbite, if I move my lower jaw slightly forward to be how it’s supposed to be, my teeth are apart. So do I Mew normally with my overbite or do I Mew while moving my lower jaw slightly forward but my teeth don’t touch. Appreciate the help.

if you hand ortodontic treatement for correcting an over bite before, when you mew the overbites comes back momentarly before it gets fixed again.
thats because ortodentic treatment pull the upper jaw furter back, and so technically in a worse position then it was when you gad an over bite.

When you have an overbite and you press on the third back of the palate, what happens here, that the back of the maxilla goes up, followed by the lower jaw which leads to more condyle compression and a more worse overbite. The right way is IMO to press directly behind the upper incicors up and forward. Then the molars will errupt and the jaw will come forward.

I think the problem is that you are breathing with your mouth (breathing in your mouth isnt good)

@@justinz4010 no, man, no way he's dumb enough to not know that. Chances are that his airways are just too narrow from mouthbreathing for a long time. But don't worry K P, it's tough on the beggining and it can annoy the crap out of you, but your pallate will expand along with your airways. Then your new found difficulty will be trying to mew with a stuffed up nose. I started when I was 17, now I'm almost 21. It was one of the best decisions I made as a teen, just keep going, it gets better.

@@Oyyxxxyyy you definitely will partially block your airways if your face is narrow enough, it's part of the process. I went trough it. It was very annoying, but eventually your pallate widens and it gets better.

If you have deep bite and class II malocclusion it’s impossible just to change the position of the teeth. Only orthodontics can improve it for example by distalization of the upper arch. Mewing helps activate proper muscles to work but it doesn’t replace a real treatment if malocclusion is serious.

There should be forward pressure of the tongue, but not pushing on the teeth.
most people start mewing with a pallate so small that they have no choice but to push on the teeth, it dindn't affect mine in any way whatsoever. My pallate grew considerably and my tongue doesn't touchit anymore. Things like this should not stop anyone from starting to mew, been at it for 4 years and got really great results. I'm here because my friend, who also changed his face for the better with me, has really big overbite and at this point, it doesn't feel like mewing will fix it. Even though he has quite the jawline.

His case might be one of the few which need braces. But it would probably be worse hadn't he started to mew.
My point coming to this video was to find out if he would really need braces, his dentist said so...
But dentists can be greedy.

@@cnar9560 chances are it will. But it might take longer depending on your age. Your mid face will go forward first and the mandible will follow after it. It might take a few years for that to happen, but patience is key
