At 0:44, Sears keeps handling the ball and bobbing and weaving until he suckers Bacot into coming out on a half hearted double team. He was setting up Nelson for that roll to the basket the whole time. Oats usually doesn't want a player handling the ball that long without shooting or passing, but Sears knew exactly what he was doing.
It’s beautiful to see Alabama back in the elite 8. I love this team. UConn is a buzz saw tho. If the tide beats Clemson they get UConn next. They gonna have to be lucky and play the best game they played all year to win that one.

I sure didn't see that coming. He hasn't had a game like that all season. Oats had a great game plan to put Nelson on UNC's worst perimeter shooter so he could sag off and be a help defender against Bacot, Ingram and Davis. Nelson was basically floating around as an extra defender and it kept him out of foul trouble trying to be a post defender.

You can blame this lose on 2 Carolina players decisions. R.J. Davis was not hitting the outside shot last night, it happens to all of us at some time. What he did was the problem. He kept forcing the 3, was 0-9. Most good players stop after about 4-5 straight misses and just drive to the hoop and pass. You could see that the Wojcik kid was ready to hit more open looks, but after he made one, Davis looked at him again, wide open and forced his dribble the other way, continued to not let him have another shot. Not winning basketball. When you're having a bad shooting game you need to become more of a facilitator, and he refused to be that. The other player that lost the game was the Withers kid. What in the world are you thinking shooting that 3 ball, with lots of time left on the shot clock, up by 2, with about 1:30 left in the game? That lost the game for his team. Too bad Tar Heels, the best team didn't play like it and now they're done!

Terrible last minute of IQ basketball by NC. The shot with :15 on the clock then the overcommitted double.
