Abandoned: Arby's - North Charleston, SC

- What's good, everyone?! Today's video brings me out to an abandoned Arby's location in North Charleston, SC. It is a few hundred feet from the abandoned Schlotzsky's Deli I filmed 2 years ago. This location closed around early 2022, and was rather unexpected. I remember seeing the sign removed and paper being put over the building's windows. I am unsure why this location closed other than underperforming sales. There was hardly a time that I saw a lot of cars in the parking lot of this restaurant. Additionally, with 3 other Arby's locations within a 20 - 30 drive, 2 of them are inside North Charleston city limits. I attempted to research the reasons behind why this restaurant closed, but was ultimately unable to find any. I wish all of the employees who worked here the best. As for the physical building, it has since received significant renovations and work done to prepare it for another business.

Arby’s actually does deep fry some of their menu items. And as a franchise owner, we have to lease our equipment from *Approved Vendors* so when a franchise closes, the equipment gets spread around to different locations. So none of the equipment in the vacant restaurant belongs to Arby’s franchise. A lot of local entrepreneurs either purchase the building or rent
Yes! I think they fry the fries / curly fries (obviously, ha!) and some other items. It’s been a long time since I’ve eaten Arby’s but there’s definitely some grease in those places! Ha.

The address is coming up now as “Restaurante La Costa” and the commercial real estate listing had the property listed for $800k. Maybe the info is incorrect, but that’s what I could find.
You’re correct, I believe. I think this and the Schlotzsky’s next door are both becoming local restaurants. Thanks for the information!

Yes, so the Church's is open for business, but when this video was originally recorded, their sign had been damaged by a storm.
Hmmm… is that a water pipe in the middle of the floor? maybe this one had a few small trees in the middle of the dining area or a buffet waaaaay back in the day with another brand of restaurant?
There's a chance it was, but I'm not really sure. I imagine there were plants in there, whether they were real or fake. I don't know if they had a buffet either, but it sounds interesting!
