    Any cat, if spend time with long enough, will eventually love you as long as you don't abuse it. My cat took 6 months before start showing affection, now he simps for me.

      We love our 2 cats dearly, they do whatever they want. Nevertheless they do not love us very much. They never come sleep with us. Still we love them and provide very good environment. We also have 1 homeless cat who just came to live in our garden - he appears to be more loving than our own cats

    • @NirGolan-fc4ff
      @NirGolan-fc4ff Год назад +8

      Not necessarily, a cat can be reluctant to your company even without you being abusive towards him, even if you nag him or disturbing his peace & quiet too much by trying to pet when he isn't in the mood for it, a cat is not a dog, dogs likes to be petted pretty much all the time, a cat doesn't even comes to his owner when he calls him, like dogs do, cats only comes when they want to, also cats really hate being hugged, it feels physically restricting to them & mentally stressful
      some cats also doesn't like it at all to be held in a person's arms, also for the same reasons they don't like being hugged, and also cuz cats feel safe when they are on something solid, not in the air on a person's arms, I know, I have two cats

    I adopted my cat from a shelter when she was 8. She had been at the shelter for months and I couldn’t understand why no one had wanted her. She was the most beautiful animal I had ever seen. I held her once and I knew we had a bond right off the bat, despite never being a cat person, per se (I didn’t think cats liked me). She was scared and underweight when I brought her home. I didn’t force affection or even attention from her. I just spoke to her softly, fed her consistently at the same times everyday, and waited patiently with no expectations. She gradually started approaching me and when my husband was in the room (or anyone else), she would nuzzle herself under my arm and peek out. I was her safe space and that was just fine with me. As weeks went by, she would spend less and less time under the bed. She began nuzzling her head on my face, “talking” to me (her meow legit sounds like “hello” ☺️), running to greet me at the back door when I would get home, and sleeping in her safe space under my arm at night. She is now 13 and my family calls her my shadow because she is always by my side. Luna is healthy, happy, and sleeps on my pillow with her face touching mine every night. She hasn’t needed to hide under my arm for a long time but she knows I will always be her safe place. It’s truly a love like no other and I hope everyone gets to be a cats “person” at least once in their lives. ❤

    My cat, who had been a feral kitten, hid in the rafters for 2 months when I first adopted her. Now she walks up a couple of times a day, curls up exactly 2.5 feet from me and purrs for about 10 minutes a few times a day. She only gets closer when she comes up and swats me with her tail when she wants my attention. She'll never be a lap cat, but that's OK. She makes it clear that I'm one of the more important things in her life.

    I had a cat once that never showed me or anyone any affection ever. I know he (sort of) loved me though cuz when he was afraid or hungry he'd seek me out. He would allow a few pets then. I think he was like that because he was a feral kitten, and not a very young one. He was probably about 4 months old when I found him, He was just always detached and aloof but he was fun to watch and did a lot of silly things. I had him for 14 yrs. All of my other cats I've own have always been super affectionate, including the two I have now.

    I took in a senior cat who hated me. The only time she looked me in the eye was when she climbed into my pants I tossed on the floor earlier and pooped in them. I returned her to her foster mother in better health than when she arrived (mostly because she spent her time hiding and eating so instead of being dangerously scrawny she was just scrawny). Last I checked she was happy and doing well. Sometimes things just don't work out. I adopted another senior cat a while later who follows me around the house and will climb on me to demand cuddles.

It's pretty funny (and frustrating) that she chose your pants as her litter box - definitely a memorable interaction! But kudos to you for returning her in better health and for having the heart to give another senior cat a chance. It's great to hear that your new feline friend is so affectionate. Every cat is unique with its own personality, so it's just about finding the one that vibes with you. Keep up the good work and continue to share your journey with us!

      The three cats ive had (one of whom is still with me) were all very loving, yet im not convinced from that alone nor from people who have presumably had the same experience that if you love them and respect their boundaries they will automatically love you. I think ive been partly lucky.
      And maybe its a better approach to find them a new home in those circumstances. It would be hard to have a pet that doesnt love you and maybe its not the best thing for the cat too as it might be they can love someone else

    I had a mentally challenged cat that hated me with a capital "H." I had two cats at the time. Evidently, she found a new home and had a cute little collar on one day. I was like, traitor! Not really, I was thankful she wasn't destroying everything. It saved me a visit to the pet store or shelter. At the time, had a cat who took care or me. Our house cat at the home will protect everyone, even though she's not huge. She sleeps in different rooms and picks people. She knows if someone is really sick.

    One of my cats has definitely changed as he’s gotten older, he used to like coming into my room and laying on my lap for a while, he would just come in, curl up there, sleep for a while and then when he was done he would walk over to my door to let me know he wanted to go, it seemed like we had a great relationship, but slowly over time he starting wanting to come into my room not to cuddle, but rather just mess with the stuff in my room, there’s a spot he keeps trying to go to which is the spot near my tv where all the cords are plugged into, and obviously I don’t want him messing with that and so a lot of times I have to pull him away from there, which might’ve soured our relationship because even though he still lets me pet him when I do he arches his body down to the floor, I feel like he’s become a lot less of a people loving cat and mostly prefers to be on his own now, so I’m not sure if that change was because of me or if he just came about it himself

    • @davidng8870
      @davidng8870 Год назад +4

      I dunno, is it just the back arching and the preference for cables? My cat sometimes arches her back when i pat her - sticks her bum in the air in a rather absurd fashion - and i dont think this is a red flag, its the other way that is the red flag, arching to the ceiling.
      If he just loves the cables then perhaps you can cover them with one of those black plastic cable covers.
      I dont know if this is fair to say but it seems to me he might have been relatively independent from the outset if he came to your room from time to time instead of being there nearly all the time. But regardless i cant see the relationship souring just cos you wouldnt let him play with cables.
      If its more than the back arching and you really feel his behaviour changed id get him checked out. My first cat - he only ever hid from me twice. Once behind the toilet door for 10min after having half a tooth pulled at the vet after he had been in a fight. And again a couple days later in my cupboard when i came home. The antibiotics they gave me were not effective in preventing an infection that spread to his brain and the next morning i took him to the vet but he never woke up after IV antibiotics and being put under. I will always regret not rushing him to an emergency vet that night. But my point is both times he was in pain, like the video says, they just hide it very well. Maybe your cat feels unwell on a lesser scale

It is sad but I have to accept that she’s growing up and it’s a good sign that their independence improve by your side if that makes sense.

    For the record, the tail twitch is NOT always negative. If your cat is tail twitching but still coming back for more, they LOVE it!
    However, they ARE starting to get overstimulated so you have a choice... push them for love claws and bites (which will probably hurt because most heavy pet cats are outside cats and don't understand how their bites hurt) or move to passive pets to calm them down. (Slow stroke between eyes and ears works best)

    This video is very useful, I have 3 cats, 2 of them being Maine Coons, my other cat is just a tabby, she’s still a little afraid of humans due to her past traumatic life, don’t worry she’s in good hands now! My 2 Maine Coons adore everyone in my family, especially the big boy, he’s very affectionate and I just know for a fact that he loves his owners, but thanks for the info, I’ll keep an eye out if they do any of those!

And your big boy sounds like he's full of love for you all! As for your little tabby, give her time and lots of gentle love - cats can take a while to overcome their past, but when they do, it's incredibly rewarding. Remember, every cat is unique and may show love in their own unique ways. Thank you for sharing your story and for providing such a loving home for your cats. I'm glad to know that you're keeping an eye out for the signs from my video, and I'll be sure to keep sharing more tips and info!

      Yes of course! Every time my 10 year old brother gets a bit too loud, I always take control and I shush him so Luna (the tabby) isn’t scared or frightened of his loud screaming, when we adopted Luna, my 2 Maine Coons were so loving and they took her in and immediately befriended her so we didn’t have to worry about them fighting! We were very surprised! Though they sometimes have a little few play fights but it’s Luna that starts them 🙄😂, your channel is very useful and I gave you a subscribe! I’ve been living with cats for my whole life so I definitely know my way around what they like and what they don’t like, but it’s always amazing to find out more info on them! For example, I always close my eyes slowly to them and they’re always doing to back to me! I can tell they have a grumpy face expression when I pick them up for cuddles sometimes 😂 but sorry for this huge paragraph, I can get a little carried away when talking about my favourite animal, it’s good to watch a channel explaining them in good detail, keep up the good work! 👍🏻

      It's so great that you've adopted a senior cat from the shelter; they often get overlooked for younger kitties. It's possible she's had experiences in her past that make her wary. Building trust with cats, especially older ones with unknown histories, can take time and patience. It sounds like you genuinely care about her well-being, and she will likely pick up on that over time. Maybe try observing her from a distance to understand her better, or use toys and treats to build a connection. Stay patient, and don't be hard on yourself. It's a journey of trust for both of you. 🐾💕

      @@christianeroll8642 I truly understand how heart-wrenching it can be to witness setbacks, especially when you've seen glimpses of progress. Cats can be very sensitive creatures, and even small changes in their environment or routine can sometimes affect their behavior. It's possible something startled her or made her feel insecure. Giving her space and observing her is a wise approach. Be gentle with both her and yourself during this process. Every cat has their own pace, and with the love and patience you're showing, there's every chance she'll come around. Sometimes, a little bit of time and understanding can work wonders. Keep up the love and patience; your commitment to building that bond is truly commendable. Sending you and your senior kitty all the positive vibes and wishes for a strengthened bond in the future. 🐱❤🌟

      Hey there, thanks for your comment! It's important to remember that cats' behaviors can be pretty complex, and tail twitching can mean different things in different contexts. While it might be a sign of annoyance or discomfort in some cases, it can also be a normal part of their behavior when they're just observing their surroundings or feeling playful. If you notice that your cat's tail twitching is combined with other signs like avoiding contact, then it might be a sign of discomfort. But if it's just the tail twitching, your cat could just be engrossed in watching something. As always, keep an eye on your furry friend's behavior as a whole. It's their overall behavior and reactions to you that will give you the best clues about how they feel! 🐾

    • @Feline_Fanatics
      @Feline_Fanatics  Год назад +3

      I'm sorry to hear about the issue you're facing with Pebbles. It seems like she might be experiencing some anxiety or confusion due to your son's absence, as cats can be sensitive to changes in their environment. To help Pebbles adjust thoroughly clean the areas she has been using with an enzymatic cleaner. This will break down the scent markers in her waste that might be encouraging her to return to those spots.
      Consider using a feline pheromone spray or diffuser in the affected rooms. These synthetic pheromones can help create a calming environment and reduce stress-related behaviors.
      Spend some extra quality time with Pebbles, especially in your son's former spaces. Playing with her or offering treats there can help create positive associations.

Anyways went w skiddish crazy clawing . Got her for my elementary age girls however that cat is my shadow. well....... she sleeps w me every night.. Goes to front door to get me and no matter who is around she follows me to my room... She's sweet so sweet has hissed twice at a kitten and getting nails done. . never scratch hiss sweet soul kind very wary of everyone .. petrified of outside like won't even go on patio and if you try to she will cry claw to get back inside. she was so young i don't know if any early trauma but she's been good. she was freaked out by my back massager i turned it on and she SPRUNG UP like it was funny - she was literally so mad at me 3 days later she still is. She jumped so crazy and panting i thought she was having panic attack i saw she hooked nail and her paw had to hurt her she was thrashing hissing..I think she's more mad at me w reaction laughing and it scaring her. I see she's been stand offish.. she sleeps at bottom of bed now.. she always sleeps right next to me. she gets up and looks around for the massager like every hour ... she will probably never get over it.... she even still sits at my door and not come in. rather than go w kids she's like nope ill just sit outside your door but i don't like you much so... what can i do ive used vacuum, hair dryers, and reaction was nothing compared to it. I put massager up in closet and she still looks so down days later .. she is like totally not herself. I see she is taking it personal but I don't know how to feel or she can't say how she feels but guess it's clear

    This video is very damaging. Not all cat breeds and individuals are the same. Overstimulating a cat is extremely easy, it will show dislike with twitching tail or aggressive behaviour. But that doesn't mean the cat doesn't love you.

      If a person watches the video they would hear what is said and realize the title of the video is click bait. They never say the tail twitch means the cat doesn't love you. What damage is this video doing?

      It can be really disheartening to feel like your cat isn’t bonding with you the way you hoped. Cats can be very independent and sometimes show affection in very subtle ways. It might help to spend some quiet time nearby, letting your cat come to you at their own pace. Also, observe what activities they seem to enjoy and try to engage with them during those times, whether it’s playing with a favorite toy or simply sitting beside them while they’re relaxed. Hang in there! 💕🐾
