Honestly I have more respect for this guy than a LOT of other anglers. I've watched videos of Lawson picking up trash from other people because he loves the water and everything that inhabits it and he takes care of the thing that brings us all here, the ocean. Love the vids bro, keep up the awesome work.

Believe I woulda kept that Red -- at least I'd have something to eat and woulda felt better, maybe even slept better ... but that's just me. Good stuff LL !!! Love it.
Growing up --- in central WV, this is something we'd do for days (when there was time!). Never went hungry but never had pans .. always roasted fish on a stick; that was living man. Only poles and a few hooks; hunted for bait which was small worms, crickets, grubs and crawdads. Oh, that was the life! Tell Chelsea hello and we miss 'er (we did get to see 'er last vid though). Be Safe

The trip you should do is 24 hours out of Flamingo - Everglades National Park. You could take your boat and fish many different ecosystems- flats, backcountry, gulf coast...both salt and freshwater. You could camp on the beach or chickee. Very cool destination!!!

Never got to paddle it because I didn’t have a kayak back then, but I would would go to the top of the tower and watch the sunset on the water. I even camped on the beach side of that park that’s across A1A one night. Watching this brought back a lot of great memories thanks man!

I've actually been doing this for about 7 years now. It's my favorite trip of the year. I go solo and camp on Matagorda Island for a 3 day weekend. I bring tortillas and Pico tho lol because I basically survive on fish tacos for breakfast lunch and dinner. And throwing artificials only. It never fails that I struggle for the first half of the day worried I won't be eating that day. You learn a lot about yourself when you don't know when your next meal is. Really helps bring a lot of things into perspective in life. That's why it's my favorite trip of the year. I'll normally be more than set on food by the end of the first day but that first day of not knowing is a trip. I've almost shed tears losing a 20" trout at the skiff at 6pm when I hadn't eaten all day lol
