Hi Lisa, that romper is super cute on you! Beautiful makes and I love that your daughters can experience how wearing a unique one of kind hand made piece can bring out that inner confidence we sewists love. Awesome update.
Hi Lisa, you can totally pull that romper off 👌...you look amazing in it 💕. I'm loving the shape of the neck and I think I would make a top with it 👍. I've not been blessed with as lovely legs as you, sadly, but I could definitely go for it in a top version 😁. Really excited to see your Kalle shirt.... I have three different versions but all in the cropped style in different fabrics and they all look so different. I think my favourite is one made from a really soft viscose twill 💟. How lovely that your daughter loves telling her friends that you sew for her...she must realise that she is lucky to have such a creative and skillful Mum I'm sure 😁💖😘
Thanks, Sally! I’m looking forward to seeing how this Kalle comes together. I just have to get the interfacing cut, and the placket market. Sometimes it’s those little tasks that delay me in getting a project started.
You look great in the romper, it really suits you. Fab for the summer. Those Cargo pants are amazing, love the pockets and especially the pleated one. Looking forward to seeing the Kallie as I have the same fabric! Love you videos Thanks for your time😊
I love the romper!! I did think it was a dress at first but it is super cute! I also love the neckline. Thank you for sharing about the makerist website. 💕
I had issues with neckbands but read something about measuring the neck then cutting the neckband 80-85 percent (depending on stretchiness of fabric) of that measurement and it worked great.
I've had the same thing with neckbands - sometimes they work and sometimes they don't, so I now baste with a straight stitch first as it's easier to unpick if need be. I've bought some unknown indie patterns in the past and found them badly drafted or lacking information. I prefer to spend a bit more on a pattern if I know they have good instructions and fit well.
debsmadethis I’ve been seeing them pop up on Insta, and the how to videos they post on RUclips. Looks great! I wish I could get it on the newsstand here.
Well I now have the free t-shirt and 3 patterns (a knitting pattern, bikini top and a dress from aware patterns) from Makerist.com so thank you for highlighting their sale but now I think I'm going to go back and get the romper! 🤗😁. Once you get the fly zip under your belt (excuse the pun 😂) it's incredibly satisfying. I've made 2 cropped kalle shirts now - I got my sizing wrong on the first one and now my sister in law has it but the second one (with a few tweaks) is perfect. Getting one out of a small amount of fabric is a win 🥳
Thank you for sharing your makes. They are amazing makes as usual. 😍 I am planning on entering the challenge. Surprisingly just before you announced the challenge, I had thought of sewing up a few items inspired by high-end designer pieces. Xx
I like a little more room through my mid section and bicep so I find a narrow shoulder adjustment solves the problem for me. That being said, I think you could go down a complete size on that tee pattern.
Hi Lisa I'm also wanting to make some cargo shorts for my husband with a fly zip. Did you alter the crotch depth ?If you did is there a method or tutorial you used .Great makes love you vlogs x
I make for my mum, daughters, husband, myself and a couple of girlfriends...it is fun, different styles, sizes, wants and needs!! I do have the problem of bringing home fabric and having a daughter turn her nose up at it sometimes too xxx
The romper looks so so so so good, and I like what you said “go big or go home” you rocked it really well 😁I think I’ll try using commercial patterns, I’ve never used one. Here in Nigeria, commercial patterns aren’t so popular, I’ve actually never seen one, we mostly either cut directly on the fabric or you make your own patterns yourself. I’ll definitely check out the makerist and maybe get myself some patterns and try it out. I’ll let you know how it goes 😊
I think that takes a lot more skill and creativity than following a pattern! I would like to be able to draft my own patterns someday. It’s on the list. ;)
After seeing your romper on Instagram I went and purchased it, right away from Makerist, along with a couple other of her patterns! I also thought it was different that her size hart wasn't included in the PDF instructions; on her website it looks like if you buy directly from her the size chart comes as a separate PDF with purchase. Thanks for the pattern recommendation :)
Hi Lisa, I'm so happy that you're modeling the empowering magic of sewing to your daughters. What a gift! (I teach kids' sewing classes so that gets me really excited ). Also, I know you're really amazing a squeaking out garments from the smallest bits of fabric but I really got inspired by Stitch My Style's recent video "Cut On The Flat And Save Fabric!". Did you see it? I learned a few good tricks. Check it out! Looking forward to seeing your fly-zip success. :-)
@@Lisamakes there is Katia yarn here in the Netherlands, will try to find some Katia fabric too, they are adorable! We do have some nice Dutch lines too though...
Thank you so much for the tip about the pattern sale, I’ve just purchased like 10 patterns, but I behaved myself and some of the patterns are for my kids🤣 I like the romper very much, unfortunately the designer only includes us size paper dimensions if I remember correctly, I don’t have any experience at all with pdf patterns so didn’t want to make my life harder ;-) I got a pattern from sewera as well, the winter dress, it got some awesome reviews on a polish sewing Facebook group I fallow but the pattern was linked on german makerist site (on sale at the time) and... well it was all written in German so.. now with the pattern in English.. who knows :))
I’m glad you got some great patterns! Yes, I did have to change the printing size on my computer to get it to print correctly- and even that wasn’t exactly right. Hopefully that will get updated soon!
I've just bought the Mairin! My pattern does have size charts and finished measurements and elastic measurements. Maybe yours was just too fresh off the printer! Btw there is a German Makerist too. (makerist.de)
Hi Lisa, I recently had the same neckband disaster with an almost liquid bamboo jersey. After unpicking two times ☹️ I followed Lauren Guthrie’s neckband tutorial on her blog. She shows very clearly how this binding is done. For anyone interested: guthrie-ghani.co.uk, search for neckband tutorial in the blog.
it looks so cute on you that blue romper ,i love the length i do think its perfect length for you makes your legs longer ,you should keep it for you it's really beautiful on you ,❤🍃😘
Hi Lisa, I’ve recently discovered your channel and am really enjoying it getting inspired - thank you!! I can’t seem to find you on Instagram though 🤔 What is your handle?? X
I LOVE that romper and the fabric is perfect for it! It looks great on you. I found a new (to me at least) RUclipsr for you - check out GiveUsAToile - she's quite amusing and enjoyable to watch.
Thanks for making me smile. Enjoy sewing for your sweet treasures.
:):):)

Thanks, Carmen! It’s fun to see their personal style as they grow.
I still sew for my daughter and she’s 32!!! Great makes!
Nice mama!
My daughter sends me Instagram pictures of clothing all the time and asks me to make something similar... and she is 29! I love it.
You rock! I get feeling age insecure on clothes, but I think you looked fabulous. Love the new designer suggestions, thank you.
Thank you! Xoxo

Thanks, Helena! I just finished up the Kalle and will show it soon!
Hi Lisa! Beautiful makes! Bonne journée! Christine 😘
I love the romper!! I did think it was a dress at first but it is super cute! I also love the neckline. Thank you for sharing about the makerist website. 💕
Thank you! I definitely will make another. ;)
That romper is so cute, totally appropriate.
Thanks!
I put by neck bands on using a straight stitch at 4 mm then if there okay I go ahead and finish them if not 4mm is easier to pull out
Smart!
Thank you Lisa for recommending this site I have just ordered 5 patterns x
That’s great! For $2, who can resist?
I had issues with neckbands but read something about measuring the neck then cutting the neckband 80-85 percent (depending on stretchiness of fabric) of that measurement and it worked great.
I’ll give that try! I actually do, generally, draft my own neckbands, and, now that I think of it, those are the ones that work out the best. ;ol
I have been watching but on my TV and still don’t know how to comment. Love you daughter’s, my mom can sew anything💞
Connie Buchner 😘😘😘

True! However I think this one is really well drafted! I think, in this case, it was my fabric and my technique. I’ll try the basting, thanks!
Lovely makes as always! I'm just looking through fibremood magazine 10 and all of them are so fantastic , I think you'd like them too !
debsmadethis I’ve been seeing them pop up on Insta, and the how to videos they post on RUclips. Looks great! I wish I could get it on the newsstand here.

I’m so glad!! Make sure you tag me!
I just bought a bunch of patterns from the Aware Collection on Makerist! What a coincidence. Her patterns are adorable.
What a coincidence! Yes, I think her patterns are so cute!
I had the exact same issue with the Basic instinct tee with is my TNT t shirt. I’ve always added a half inch to the neckband piece :)
Good to know!
Wow! Cargo shorts progress is impressive!
Thanks! I’m pretty pleased with how they’re coming along- totally different from anything else I’ve made.
Thank you for recommending the $2 sale on makerist.com So cool, I am ordering like mad. What a great bargain.
Fenneke Elsink I’m glad! It really is a bargain!

I’ll look up a narrow shoulder adjustment!
LISA!!!!! You. Look absolutely stunning in the romper. And NO WAY should you think its not age appropriate!!! NO WAY!!!
Thanks, Sarah. Xoxo
Love your videos 👍
Thank you!

I am knitting and sewing. Sun is setting but shining.
Sounds wonderful. :)
Thank you, for sharing. I am going to check out that website.
Enjoy!
Looks like you just need to cut a size small on the pattern shoulder 🙂
Yes, maybe!
That pineapple fabric is beautiful not sure I can get that in UK though
I linked to it in the description, and they ship anywhere.

Do a practice zip first . The shorts look fab, the kalle is a fab pattern. Breezy fit at the back so I think some peeps have reduced the volume there
It is easy . I made my husband work pants and I found the zipper very easy.
That’s good to know!
Is the Katia fabric from the same as Katia yarn?
It is!
@@Lisamakes there is Katia yarn here in the Netherlands, will try to find some Katia fabric too, they are adorable! We do have some nice Dutch lines too though...
Have a look at tomcat stitchery , Whitney has a very good fly zip tutorial. Very easy to follow and finish is beautiful. 😁
I will! I do love her channel; and her tutorials are always so clear.
It looks great on you
Thanks!
I love the pineapples on your shirt 🤩
Aren’t they fun?
And Sew On super fun :) I’m so sorry I just realised it’s actually a romper, had commented before watching the whole video 😬

Hii dear
Which city are you live in Spain?
Near Barcelona.
Am live in santa coloma
That Romper looks great on you but please alter the shoulder length (so you don't need to keep fiddling with it). to make it really chic.
I think I will. :)
