  • Today we talk about Self-Discipline, and I am going to tell you my secret to self-discipline. Many people ask how to become self-disciplined in life. And I think a lot of people overcomplicate things. In my previous video about self-discipline, I discuss something called “Finding your north star” and that is also very important, and you should certainly watch that video.
First Video On Self-Discipline: • This is Why Self-Disci...
The story in this video actually had a profound impact on my life, and understanding this concept helped me get rid of all of my excuses, when it came to doing things. When you realize just how lucky you are to even be here, it will create incredible self-discipline and work ethic within you. When I met Mike, who was in the wheelchair, I really did feel bad about my dumb excuses about not going to the gym. When I realized that he would do almost anything just to have the same opportunities as me, it really put things into perspective.
Understand this this idea should really help when it comes to understanding how to become self-disciplined in life, and it really is my secret to self-discipline (I have a few secrets though) This also should help you with self control.
If you enjoyed this animated story about self-discipline, please leave the video a like

I only gained self discipline after reading 3 self help books, watched dozens of jordan peterson, joe rogan, jocko willink, tim ferris etc... videos and basically go through high school and college feeling like a loser because despite knowing what I had to do I just never got to do it and blamed it on lack of motivation and not having friends that inspired me.
The secret is..... to JUST DO IT. Don't wait for motivation to start something, think of it like conquering yourself. Every time you get up and go do something despite not wanting to, you have won.
You want to be rich ? Work towards that job or business. Want to have a good body ? Go work out and read about nutrition. Want to save more so you can travel ? Write down your expenses and cut out what you dont need.
Funny thing is, everyone kinda knows this already, but they have to go through the process. To some, it may take 1 year, to others it may take several, but until you can internalize this you have to keep reading and watching videos of these guys.

For anyone out there feeling low, do NOT stop until you reach out of the tunnel. The last 7 years I was in a wheelchair. But as of now, I am on my 5th month on using crutches because I started walking again. I have grown up in Africa, so life was not easy. I started supporting my family when I was young, and even when I got sick, I am the one who my Mum depended on.
I felt into depression and life was a challenge. However, I taught myself coding, by reading through pdfs I would download online. I learnt C++. Visual Basic 6, Java, PHP and game programming through the Irrlicht 3D Engine.
Right now, I have a job, living by myself at my own place, and am physically getting better and my work out sessions have placed me in better shape.
By defining my goals back in 2013, I would DAILY visualize them over and over. Over and over. At times, I felt like giving up due to the situations I lived in but I never gave up.
You can also achieve the same my brothers and sisters. Stay Strong

Never compare two people's situations and determine pain. For one person, getting bitten by a snake would seem more painful than stepping on a thorn and bleeding, this doesn't mean the one who stepped on the thorn ain't suffering. Each person has their own situation to deal and being grateful by seeing others situation is a dangerous way to exist. You just see your situation and do whats right for you. Trying to work yourself because you're seeing and comparing with people ain't going to make your life better. What they want in their situation is different from what you want in your situation. Don't ruin your energy by looking at others

While it’s true that people with disabilities would probably give anything to be in complete shape again, their struggle doesn’t negate yours. You can’t compare pain and decide that since one seems greater than the other, then surely the other doesn’t count as pain or a struggle. For instance; a kid who grew up with millionaire parents might never go a day without food but they might be depressed. A kid growing up without that luxury might actually be very happy yet, they may see some days without food. You might think the millionaire’s depression is nothing next to the starving kid but pain doesn’t discriminate. It doesn’t matter whether you are rich or not, disabled or not...pain simply is.
So it’s okay to feel uninspired sometimes, or lazy to do something, or depressed even. You are human after all. You can’t just ignore your own pain just because someone else out there has it worse. Someone will always have it worse. Embrace that you’re not superhuman and that sometimes you’ll feel down and depressed. However, it is important to pick yourself up at some point and work towards being a better you again. But don’t ignore your pain or depression. It will always catch up to you. Don’t feel guilty for being human.

But after 12th grade, I took an year off to prepare for medical exams (in India we do that, not all but it's not uncommon) and I became VERY sedentary. I gained A LOT OF WEIGHT and on 2nd January 2016, I received an injury that changed my life; herniated disc.
So now, 2 years later, I miss being able to run and jump like I used to. I can still run and jump, but it's NOTHING like what I could do before. I too would give a lot from my life just to be able to run and jump like I used to.

For me its just a mind setting. If you dont want to do stuff you just miss the reason to do it..
The question is WHY do you want to go to the gym? Not THAT you go to the gym... If you have a goal like getting fit having a six pack or whateva and you dont have the motivation, you should think about if it really is what YOU want or if it is something that the people around you want to have?
There is that example where 2 people have the same goal but it means different things to them. What you just mentioned, people who dont have the possibility would just give everything to do that thing. You shouldn't just compare yourself with someone else because everyone is unique! It's just the media telling you that you need that and that and that everybody has to be a minimum amount of this or that(...)
If people chase goals they dont want to achieve but other people WANT you to achieve, than you will never be the one person that YOU want to be!
So in the case you dont want to go to the gym,why dont you want to go to the gym???? To lazy? No your mind just tells you:why should I do an afford for something I dont need to do? That's natural;the body wants to save resources. In the stone age the people had to survive and if they want food they have to get it. So they are going to have a mission = motivation and a real reason for their doing. So what do they do to get food? Picking berries and eating veggies or having amazing meat? But they had to workout for that in some way right? So they are motivated to do!
Not because they are allowed to, its because they have a mindset telling them it's a good idea and it makes change in YOUR life.
    Think about that.. :)

As a disabled man, I am talking from the outside a bit, but it seems to me that normies traditionally forget everyday things are amazing. I have very serious Tourette Syndrome, and I have to be very careful when I workout, as if the muscle gets to strong and I have a bad tic it can tear itself or cause a small bone fracture, I couldn't join the military like I wished, or to become a surgeon like I hoped to have done in the military. @@MasculineMan I do not know if it is luck of the draw or if you just normally do this, but either way I do appreciate that you respond to comments, many do not and it is quite annoying. So thank you.

I mean, if the universe is telling you what you need then listen to it.
Great video, and I'm a very strong advocate for self discipline. Don't mistake it for your comfortably though, and motivation comes from everywhere in every manner. As long as you're living your life and doing what truly makes you happy and taking the steps necessary to achieve your goals, that's what matters.
Although, you covered that as well.
Absolutely nobody and nothing dictate or control what you do with your life. Addictions, doubt, stress, they're all completely normal and every human being experiences them. They may seem like obstacles, but they're really just chemical reactions that we as a species responds to.
As long as you don't forget that you're just a brain piloting a body with up to 100+ years to kill, you'll never live a life of regrets and it's never too late to pursue what motivates you and the Trillions of open doors around you that lead to that achievement every second of every day.

It is always this way: partly destiniy, partly grit to achieve something. Well this thought is for someone seeking self discipline to be successful.

One of the big points I had to learn about self discipline is instead of force self-discipline is better to use flowing self discipline which almost feels like you are automatically being motivated and you do the action necessary effortlessly. Key to getting effortless self discipline is it concept called ccmp. From Think and Grow Rich days clear concise mental picture turned into a burning desire.

I really like the approach towards self-discipline that you used. It's indeed very effective. When you change your emotion about something you change your action. How to change your emotion towards self-discipline? Change your perspective about it and about yourself (of what you already have). Its all about our attention! Thank you!
