    Im from Scotland but live in Mexico and my wife is Mexican. Mexico City is still under-rated by many but it is a world class city, there is no doubt about it. The Architecture, the Arts scene, Museums and of course the FOOD! Mexico is food paradise. Its simply the most diverse, colourful, tasty, moreish kitchen on the planet. And each state in Mexico has its own dishes on top as well. You think Tacos de camarones are as good as it gets, then along comes al pastor, chicken al pastor and fish al pastor to completely change the order. And just as you believe youve hit the top along come carnitas, suadero and barbacoa. And if thats not enough, the biodiversity is just incredible. Nowhere like it on earth!!

    🇲🇽 I had two adventures in Mexico City many years ago and I had an amazing time. My second trip I stayed in Zona Rosa and my hostel was very close to one of the subway stations. I saw this lady in a corner selling some street food. Because the lighting was pretty dim, I thought she was selling some French fries. So I ordered one and she placed some corn with it. Once I took it to well lit place nearby it turned out to be chicken feet with corn. I was not expecting that at all. I kinda freaked out a little bit but hey I am in Mexico City and I should eat what the locals eat. So I ate it all with gusto and I actually liked it. It was one of the many fond and funny memories I have with Mexico City 🇲🇽.

    Personally, I think weather wise or environment wise it’s easy to transition from Cali to Mexico because California, and other states, used to belong to Mexico back in the day. 🇲🇽 #history

    • @desanctisapostata
      @desanctisapostata 2 года назад +2

      Generally yes. There's to major diferences weather wise tho: 1. Mexico city has a very long rain season, in wich showers are sometimes 6/7 days a week and troughout the entire day, this season goes from late spring to late summer, sometimes even early fall. During this season the city becomes chaotic and the temperature is a mess, because it varies wildly beetwen super hot, to cool to cold in a whimp. The other major diference is that mexico city (specially in the south and higher altitudes of the city-since, you know, it's a valley-) has a somewhat colder and earlier fall/winter season, so it tends to be a little be more cold than cali and definetely more windy. One thing to keep in mind tho: MX city has a transitional weather troughout all seasons, wich means that, generally, no matter the season, it tends to be quite cold during nights and mornings and generally gets comfortably warm (in winter) to absolutely insuffetable (in spring and early summer) during the day, only to again get colder fast once the sun goes out. So it tends to be a city with very unpredictable climate and weather.

    You are great!
    Eating insects and scorpions in a market is a challenge!
    Even for me as Mexican I don't like it.
    I'm new follower and now you have my attention. Blessings.

    Thank God the Americans or from Canada are arriving, the truth is that it is admirable how they are more civically educated people, perhaps it serves to improve the actions that currently exist as Mexican citizens and we can copy their civil education from them

    I will have to die of starvation before I eat a friggin’ insect. I’ll eat tree bark, leaves, and my t shirt first. Then maybe an insect. Unless I have a spare t-shirt.
    Otherwise, another cool video Haley. As usual, good job, good content, great presentation and editing.

    Nice to see footage of food that you didn't like. Most would have not shown that or faked liking it.
    Corn from the grill is usually eaten with lime/chili only. Doesn't hurt to tell them "no mayo", but the mayo is primarily added to corn from the pot.
    Cheers.
