    Thank you Bill for another informative video on fixing powerstrokes RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!! The Hawaii 5-O is still running awesome with NO LEAKS since the work you did to the truck back in 2015. Video can be viewed at Hawaii 5-O on Powerstroke Specialties Videos.

    You are the true ford mechanic and the only person that I would truly trust to fix any diesel truck other than myself.

    Great info and content guys. Just had the oil cooler replaced in my 7.3 couple months ago, and the underside was a sticky oily mess. I spent a few hours with Purple power, steam, and brake kleen on everything before I dropped it off to them. Hats off to you guys as always for this work.

    12:49> “…that right there will never rust!” 😳🤣 Yeah, reminds me of basically EVERYTHING on the undercarriage of my 1955 Buick Super with Dynaflow trans… been said that for an older Buick, if no leaks, it’s out of fluid! Now, on the other-hand, my 2000 F-250 PS w/7.3 looks even worse then this one in video; has nearly 400K miles on it tho so, gunna be expected to have some seepage & yes, I fully agree about the Crankcase Ventilation system being best left alone (stock) for turbo low pressure (vacuum) side, to assist in evacuating it. I really oughta get my truck over to one of the big-rig cleaning bays around my area for an acid wash of underside. I haven’t jumped on getting all that crud cleaned off sooner only because it hasn’t leaked fast enough to even show on dipstick; just a slow migration of seepage over time from maybe several OLD seals.. actually kind of afraid of dislodging all of that caked on crud; may cause other parts to loose grip!! 🤪

    Your exactly correct about the ccv venting craziness

    Our 2016 is bone dry under it.
    Our 2006, as we jokingly say, will NEVER rust! - Nice protective coat all over the underside.

    So all that oil from the ccv that combines with the soot from the egr and plugs up Intake is good for that engine? I've opened one up it is a half inch thick, necking down air flow. Not to mention the oil that attacks the rubber hose that splits open on intercooler.

    Diesel trucks have come a long way since the 7.3L that had not much to it to make it run. I would go crazy with all the new tech they need to keep the new diesel engines going right.

      Yeah with the 7.3 the only thing you will have to do with it other than normal maintenance is after about 300k the drivers seat will need recovering!

    Gray death is what we call it. 2001 f2shity 7.tree got over 720 thousand miles...not a leak to be found...still stroking and purrs like a kitten 😸... been driving her for 22 years now

      Impressive! I’ve got 517k on mine, the spots that are leaking are the seals around the oil cooler and transmission case where the pan gasket is. I’m not the original owner and the previous one must have took an impact to that delicate trans case when changing the filter or something. Runs great

    Too bad I'm stuck with a 6.0 I can't give away! Gets 7mpg, and all the shops want 8k+ to 'bulletproof'.

    • @kneetotheface
      @kneetotheface 2 года назад

      8k to bulletproof is NOT that bad. and after its properly fixed up, it lasts a long while. i bought a 2004 6.0 at 221k and hadda get injectors,glowplugs+harness,fuel pump at 236k and it costed ~$7k but she is sittin in my driveway now with only slight oil leak (similar to this video) and at 302k miles and more to go!

    What’s the cost to fix the bed plate leak? Following Bill’s advice I’m going to look at a 06’ 6.0 F-250 about four hours away and the owner said it has a leak by the bell housing but was told by a mechanic it’s residual leaking and nothing to worry about.
