There was just enough daylight to see what was going on, a long blast of the horn told everyone in most of Devon that a train was coming, the station stairs lit up at just the right moment and the signalman and driver exchanged the token and a few words. Came here in 2013 when a pick-up truck turned up on the quiet road at just the wrong moment. • Crediton Level Crossing Presumably it would be possible to sneak into the signal box while the signalman is down by a train. You can see that It took a while for him to return to his box. The railway here does seem a little behind the times.
