I appreciate the simple steps and your easy to follow explanations in this tutorial. To follow along more closely, I wanted to use the actual files. Was able to snip screen shots from the video of the background and logo. This did not work for the third file with your photo, however. Any chance of getting this file? Finally, thanks for the tip about the conversion program!
Thank You! Unfortunately, I can't provide the original photo used in this tutorial as it's copyright material but any image should work for the tutorial. I'll try to use more public domain photos in future tutorials.
@@MaurySway Sorry, same issue. Here are a couple of links to characters with transparent backgrounds you can download and use the exact same way. pixabay.com/photos/transparent-transparent-background-1096251/ pixabay.com/illustrations/smiley-green-sick-emoticon-emoji-4946120/ Pixabay is a great resource for Public Domain Images. I don't understand the question. This is the only tutorial I've published specific to Layers. So it's the 1st and #1. When I publish another Tutorial specific to layers it will be #2. That's my system ;-) There is no linear way of learning these applications. It's based on a specific set of tools and processes like Layers, Selection Tools, Layer Mask, Lighting, etc. That's why it's titled Image Layers - Basic #1, Not GIMP Basics #1. I hope that clears it up.
В ГИМПе надо упростить ВСЁ. Особенно интерфейс. Программа очень не дружественная к пользователю. Намного хуже, чем любая ранняя версия Фотошопа. У меня есть на компьютере, умею пользоваться, но никогда не использую.
It can be intimidating so hopefully these tutorials will be a help to people. I never really used Photoshop, just GIMP, so I guess I got used to the interface from the start. I moved from Windows to Linux early on so GIMP was always on my system.
Thank you. These tutorials are very helpful.
Thank You Sharyn ;-)

ANOTHER? I thought this was beginner tutorial number 1. What's your system, man? Which one is 1 and 2 and so on?

So, there's no tutorial for beginners. I see.
