thank you much for this tutorial Tut. i loved the interaction and your easy to understand instructions are GENIUS! I will be a pro in no time thanks to you. you hve gained a new subbie!
Love your videos didnt even know you were on youtube ive been following you on skillshare😊 Im still a total beginner but ive been trying to understand how to use this program for photo manipulation and a specific type of thing i see people doing but honestly can figure out how to do unless its on photoshop that is the pencil brush effect where you use a brush and bam picture underneath it looks nice im guessing its with layers so maybe do a video on that topic? 😁
hi, is there a way to create non-destructive layer like photoshop? Like when we want to adjust brightness to a layer, there is a brightness layer linked to the target layer, so we can go back to its last value if we need to adjust again in the future.
It's hard to follow when there is no download. You must have left the company and are working on your own. I really like your style, and I can understand. I'll just follow with an abstract picture.
Hi I just finish watching video making the brushes float on it's own and I tried doing the same with all the other tabs, 'cause I wanted to reorganize them. Big mistake Now I can't put them back on the right side, because I can't see a blue line to lock them back in. I tried uninstalling & reinstalling the program to see if everything would come back to default, that didn't work can you tell me how to reattach them? I also find that your video are easy and of great help to a 75 year old still learning. would appreciate a comeback thank you.
I enjoyed and appreciated your video. I'd like to say that while I understand that your "target" audience is beginners, it seemed that you spent an unnecessarily extended amount of time explaining the general concept of layers. And of course viewers can always speed up the video as needed, but I'd still suggest that you not dwell so much on the easy concepts.
Gimp is not designed by artists. Artist get their reference, then their canvas, size, material and put them side by side. Not layers. Then the brushes all in one area. Gimp is all over the place. Like the clone tool is a brush. The paths tool is a tracing/cutting tool. If I click on a tool all the options should be available just like real life when you pick up a brush. You know what it can do. Sadly Gimp alienates real artists forcing them to learn a difficult program that never needed to be.
I wasn't expecting a tutorial about layers to be just about 20 minutes long, but it is great information.
Heya! Is the link to the image for this tutorial no longer here? -Thanks. :)
Great video--it increased my understanding of GIMP by a lot and also offered some good tips.
This was so helpful, thank you so much!
Thank you! This is really helpful for someone that tries to figure out Gimp with no background in arts (physical nor digital) at all.
You are an excellent teacher! Thank you!
I can't fine the files to download. Could you possibly show how to find the files and download them to play along with you?
Easy and to the point explanation, thank u so much.
Excellent, clear, not too fast, not too much. checking out more of your work, thanks!

"Here is how you do this expect I've customized everything so you cannot follow along at all, ENJOY!"

If you plan to follow along: There's no link to the file he's talking about in the tutorial.
Gimp interface?
Regret profoundly that image for tutorial is no longer available. Was so interested...
Why would you make a tutorial for beginners and then use a customized interface so no one knows where to click to follow what you are doing?
Look for the 'customize your interface' tutorial bt the same teacher.😊
Your customised interface makes this hard for an absolute beginner to follow.
nah actually
