Sorry about the loss of the other truck, but you did get a good truck in the end. Very odd that they don’t have low range. I would never have to look for that myself.
It's really coming together. An oscillating saw would make short work of a lot of those drywall cuts. Much easier on your muscles than using a utility knife, or hand saw.
My wife and I almost had a similar experience in Kentucky back in the 1980s. We went to a dealership and told the salesperson we wanted a 4 wheel drive truck. He showed us a truck and accompanied us on a test drive. We left and told the dealership we wanted to think about the truck for a bit. One week later, we came back to the dealership and agreed to purchase the truck. We were getting ready to sign the papers when I asked a question about the 4 wheel drive. The finance person said the dealership had no 4 wheel drive trucks on the lot. Luckily, we found out before we signed the paperwork. I don't know if the salesperson misunderstood that we wanted a 4 wheel drive truck or if he was trying to take advantage of us because at the time we were young and recently married. We were within a few minutes of purchasing a 2 wheel drive truck we did not want. Fortunately we were able to walk away from the deal and later purchased a 4 wheel drive from a competing dealership.
Looking good. Had a dealership here lie to me about replacing computer on a Duramax, saw the dad owners when I took it back in. The bill was over $1,400, and the dealership paid for it.
You both do a fantastic job. I’m amazed watching you how much you know and how much you do. The oopsy on drywall piece where window was is because you cut on wrong side. Always cut on face side.
I really enjoy you guys. I like watching active people who work for the things they want and willing to go thru the pain of it all. You are examples for some many people. As for me, I have one foot in the grave and get real joy watching others may a life while there is life to be made.
Whenever my wife and I go through a stressful situation, I say to her, "Some day we'll look back at this and laugh. Not right now though." Love the new (to you) truck.
So sad you had to experience such a loss but I'm happy you have a better ride now and one that suits your needs. Hubs has a 2005 2500 diesel that we baby because it's such a workhorse. Praying you get as many years out of yours. I always look at a vehicle based on what it pays me. Can it get the work done...If it can, then it's an asset and it's worth it.
I'm happy that you went forward and dumped the other truck. Now your happier with this truck and it can do what you want. You will get over the loss soon and its now behind you. The room is looking good and cozy. It is way brighter already. Light walls make a room bigger and brighter. Your ceiling will look great after its up. Hugs from Santa Barbara. 🤗😘😎🌹🍷🙏🐐👏🫶
You two are incredible with what you can accomplish. As to stress, it is a bugger!!! The misery is that it affects you physically and seems to come at us like arrows. Believe in yourself that you are strong and can handle the crapp that will come your way in life. I believe you two were right to step away and go camping. Good way to re-regulate your body.
Well done on the drywall, Katie and Greg! I understand your frustration with the pickup purchase. Went through something like that a few years ago here in Oklahoma. Got it worked out but OMG what a hassle!
Hi kids!! Great video!! Great editing 😊. Don't sweat the small stuff.....ie - the lights. You will get it all figured out. The only 2 people you really have to please is each other!! ❤️. All your "subs" / RUclips friends love you both and everything you do!! Well done on the truck "switch".... Live and learn can be costly. Believe me, we have all made our share of costly mistakes. You are both young + healthy... God bless you both and your beautiful home!!! (NE Ohio) 😊❤😊
I love you guys and watching your videos. What a special connection you have with your animals. I love it. Great opening scene, the music was perfect. Great stress relief. Thanks for all you do💕
Katie, your symptoms are very similar to what I have experienced for 25 years. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and prescribed Cymbalta (duloxetine). It has been a life changer. There’s a very common stress, pain, depression cycle and Cymbalta breaks that cycle.
It’s just wonderful! What a great new area you’ve added to your home. Can’t wait for Katie’s loving touch to decorate it. Great job! Give Stevie a hug for me. Soooo cute 🥰
Hello Greg and Katie, I agree 👍 it looks soo much better now that the drywall is up. Still can't believe that dealership did that, I'm glad you were able to find something that works out to better fit your needs. Thanks for the great video Katie with all the colors and our favorite animals ❤.
I was holding my breath as you guys were removing the window, hoping that it didn't shatter when it was flexing. just didn't want another accident befall you. BTW, I hate doing drywall more than any other house project. What a year, newer truck, new power shed and solar array, finished the bigger barn, added the addition, got most of the fascia and soffit work done, wow. Your energy and work ethic is admirable to say the least, stay positive, you have all of us sending good vibes your way. Chevy has really gone downhill IMO, happy halloween!
When I cut outlets out of sheet rock, I put a framing square on the floor. And make a mark where the outside of the outlet. Then measure up to the bottom and top. Then put the sheet rock up. Use the line on the floor which you marked on the floor.?..measure up and cut it out. Perfect everytime.
There is a saying in difficult times….Be good to each other, make the best of it, and take care of yourself….and buy a good set of power tools considering how much construction work you 2 youngsters do in your videos. All the best to ya..eh! 👍 🍀
Long ago, I did a lot of research, bought the cost book, etc. and thought I was ready. They still twisted it off on me. Can't win on buying new vehicles. Truck looks sturdy enough for you guys up and down the mountain.
Great job with the drywall! Trading vehicles is more stressful than it ought to be but it looks like you got the right one. Enjoyable to watch the work that you do so well.
two things about drywalling. You score the drywall on the smooth side, not the rougher backside. To cut out spaces they make special tools to make that easier or use an oscillating tool (I personally don't like those though). A cheap drywall cutout tool in the US is under $25 and would work for outlet box cutouts, window cutouts, door cutouts, etc. Even if you only use it once and sell it on marketplace it would be worth it since you can't rent one due to your distance from a rental place.
When it's all said and done I think you will be happy with your new truck. Although it looks like one of your hens doesn't care for it. The room looks great. Really getting a feel on how the finish project will look like.
@ 24:20 I am sure some after market seat covers will fix the cloth seat issue and I like the idea of no carpet floors in as a truck is used for work not the urban use most people buy them for today / main thing is it gets you and Greg up and down the mountain safely in the winter months
Great job guys 💪. Sorry to hear about your loss on the truck 😔,but I truly like what U have,an I'm sure you guys will enjoy it as well 😉. The house is looking amazing 🤩. TKS for sharing 😁.
Lookin good indoors, enjoy the rain and cooler temps, colors 🍁🍁🍁are awesome! Bummer on the truck deal, painful klown dealers. But your blessings outweigh the setbacks..... always look at the blessings friends. Prayers🙏🙏🙏
With the truck, if you plan to keep it a long time, I would suggest getting it professionally oiled inside, out and under to help prevent rust. I have two friends that have had to scrap their very costly 2018 and 2019 GM trucks due to the frame being rusted away prematurely to an unsafe condition. It is a major issue on GM trucks used on salted roads, since about 2017. Your truck's frame may disappear fast if some type of rust proofing is not done. The drywall looks great!
Congrats on getting truck situation ironed out! You ended up with a WAY more capable truck! She’s a beauty! 1 suggestion: Check out some stuff called Blaster Surface Shield, it’s a lanolin based undercoating that you spray on ALL of the metal components underneath including the frame. It will save that truck from rusting to death. Re-apply every 2 years. Should take about 6 cans to do it. I do my vehicles here in Minnesota with it to save it from the salt. Awesome product similar to the more popular brand called Fluid Film only better. 👍🏻🇺🇸🇨🇦
The drywall in the addition is like night and day..😂 Poor Katie having to use tht drywall saw, ughhh... A router would've worked awesome if ya'll had one. The new to you truck is awesome, hoping it'll give ya'll years of service! Love ya'll ❤️
My boyfriend tried to surprise me with breakfast in bed. It was sweet until I discovered he used the last of the coffee beans. Don't mess with a woman's caffeine supply💝
Sorry about extra comments... 😂😅... It is very common for women to internalize our emotions, anger and frustration to the muscles, tendons, etc in our bodies. 8 agree with another sub that suggested checking out "fibromyalgia". Take good care of yourselves and each other. When you get a little older you will appreciate putting each other first - and your animals of course!!❤🙏❤
That room will make such a difference for you guys. Tough break on the truck. But you ripped the Band-Aid off and it is behind you now.
Sorry about the loss of the other truck, but you did get a good truck in the end. Very odd that they don’t have low range. I would never have to look for that myself.
Great job with the drywall. and congratulations on the new Truck.

My wife and myself in Australia love your videos and especially Steve and all your animals.👍👍❤️❤️
Likewise in Australia my hubby and I love your work
Awesome! Thank you!
I'm not sure my marriage would survive this many projects... you two are amazing!

He was just acting like a normal car salesperson, screw the customer....
You guys have done a awesome job, it looks awesome! Thanks for sharing👍
I'm glad it is over for you guys, and I understand stress creating all over pain.
Looking good. Had a dealership here lie to me about replacing computer on a Duramax, saw the dad owners when I took it back in. The bill was over $1,400, and the dealership paid for it.
you both making that looking easy, what a great job.

Glad you got a real truck
I’m so glad that you are ready to live in a comfortable house , love all of your pets ❤❤
Awesome job y'all ✌️💪😁
Onward and upward, glad you've moved beyond the bump in the road, makeing progress one day at a time. good stuff.

You both did an awesome job 👍. Dealerships can be a real pain in the rear. Sorry you had to go through that.

Wait and see the dealers. In a small town word gets around and karma will come around

Glad able to get truck you wanted at better deal than 1st dealer they will get karma in time

Put lipstick on outlet rim - stand up your dry wall against the wall and the lip stick will show you where to cut.
I don’t have any lipstick and couldn’t be bothered spending money on it. Hitting against the box worked pretty well 😅
