This little gadget is ingenious. You're quite creative. I'd love to see a detailed video on how you built the dust collection for your Delta, one showing your router bit storage 'tower' and I'm dying to hear the story on that motorcycle in the background. Thanks for the great videos. Keep 'em coming!
Great design! Thank yo for sharing! I just picked up my first Delta Contractor saw and am setting up. I did find an above blade vacuum attachment and will match it with a zero clearance but now I also can try this if there is an issue. I did notice that my Delta has some sort of cloth/canvas material set up as a seal connecting and trying to 'seal' any gaps between the blade housing/shroud under the saw and the bottom of the table top. Not sure if this is a new addition (have not noticed this in most videos). Anyhow, would be nice for Delta to address but it is still an amazing saw at its current cost (paid 679 for my 725t2 and the Dewalt job site was 600- on sale).
Worked perfectly! Had to rip off the rounded edges on 2x4’s, in the past it has always been a complete mess. Made this little attachment and worked like a champ! Thanks for sharing!
nice, just looked at mine, never got into the top to look how open it is.... ill close that up too, anything that gets a bit more from the dust port vac from shooting out the front the better. Mine is open at the bottom to catch the rest, but drops in a closed drawer..... but that blade area 'could' get a lot more dust I suppose. Thanks
I saw this video and thought that was great, but then noticed you made a zero clearance plate with, I think, the original plate. Can you show how you did that?
I will try to make a video of the 0 clearance plate for you. I'll show the one I have in this video plus A new idea of an easier way to make one. (maybe)
It is all part of the 36-5152 delta saw. I believe they no longer make this exact model but changed it to 36-5152T2 Which is basically the same saw. Sold by Lowes.
Really a wonderful idea. Just great. Thank you for sharing it. I just got my T2 Delta a few weeks ago. Have used it briefly only twice and sawdust all over. I would love to attempt to make one of these but I can’t copy the drawing info fast enough. Is there any means to get a copy of your drawing or covert the video to my browser? Thanks so much, Bill.
Richard, this is absolutely brilliant!! I do have a couple of questions about your diagram. The "wooden part". You have, what appears that the top part is 1 3/8" and the "middle"(?) or lower part of that is 1 5/16". How is that supposed to be? I'm not sure how to interpret those specs. Also, the 1/2" tab on the right "wing" (that's in the middle). How far in from the right side does that come? Or does it matter? Lastly, how thick is the stock you are using? Thanks for doing the footwork on this. Hopefully I can get one of these made up for my 725t2.
The 1 3/8" measurement is what the center section is when this is made from sheet metal. When making it from wood the center section would need to be 1 5/16, to account for the difference in thickness when using wood instead.
The wood I used is only .077" thick. But thicker will work also. All that matters is that it fits into the dust chute which has an inside measurement of 1 7/16" wide or just a slight amount under 1 1/2 inch. The 2 side parts could be 3 3/8" square and work just fine. The small blocks on sides don't need to be in any exact place. Just put them toward the arbor side of each side piece. The front block needs to be off to the side as shown in video.
Could anybody please tell me the difference between the Delta 36-725t2 model and the 36-5000t2 model? They seem to look identical and have the same exact specifications, but the 36-5000t2 costs around double the price? Thank you very much, guys
This is great, Thank You for sharing. I made one out of 1/4" mdf. Is there a functional reason for the angle on the left and right? I didn't cut the 2 angles on my variation (essentially 3 rectangular piece glued together) it seemed to work fine.
@@raymondsmith4747 Just finished it. Fits like a glove. You will need to file down the corner where the table saw insert plate finger hole is, but otherwise it works. I'll post a comment with the link if it allows it detailing it.
@@ShaddParker That's strange. I posted the link in a separate comment, but it's not there anymore. If you search Thingiverse for 36-725 you'll find it.
The basic shape made from the 3 pieces of wood will work for any saw that uses a dust chute around the blade. You will just have to measure the inside of the front of that chute to make your wood part fit into it. Measure for the height it needs to be to come close to the throat plate. Put the outer tabs on it where ever they will clear everything.
Ingenious!! Thanks for sharing this simple mod that helps make a good saw even better.
Glad to help
Nice looking setup, and good idea.

Thanks. I will do a short video of the bit storage for ya.

Thanks for sharing the nice approach.
I have this exact saw and issue. Thank you so much for sharing, I look forward to trying this fix.
You Are Welcome!
I have the same saw.
Thank you for sharing this. Very clever. Stay safe and enjoy woodworking.
Thanks 👍
Nice, where do I get extension wings like yours cast iron?
Great idea. I'm going to see if I can cut up a soda can and make it fit snug. I suppose a wooden version would be safer if it were to come lose.
ingenious! I could easily 3d print some if people are interested.
What's the bend offset dim?
Awesome idea.
Thank you!
Thanks. Great idea. BTWwhat is the switch called that turns your vac on when you turn the saw on?
I-Socket Plus - auto switch
15Amp, 120V AC, 60 Hz

Just pause the video when the pattern is in view.
Can pause the video and take a picture of your screen with your phone :)

No real reason for the angles! As I said in another reply, sides can be square. I'm glad it works for you.
That's awesome! I'm going to see if I can design one to 3d print! I noticed you have cast iron wings. What brand and model are the wings?
If you do, please provide a link. It saves someone else (me) from having to do it again. I just checked thingiverse and didn't find one.
@@raymondsmith4747 i have not yet. I'll see if I can come up with a 3d print by this weekend.

Someone on Etsy sells 3D printed version of these for pretty cheap
This would be a cool project on a 3d printer.
Can it fit on Delta 36-725T?
