Excalibur Scroll Saw Dust Collection That Really Works, and Quite.
I first tried the factory dust system that came on the saw using a Shop Vacuum. Way too much suction! Also the thin plastic cover under the table instantly sucked up into the recess made for the air to move through, closing it off. And Way Too Noisy! Plus I think it would be hard on the vac to let it run for hours at a time Like you might need for scroll sawing.

Just showing how I made use of the same old drop leaf kitchen table that the 66 year old Tool Craft jig saw was mounted too. This new saw will be a lot nicer to use and Way easier to make blade changes.
Old Tool Craft Jig Saw - Have Used it For 66 Years now
Просмотров 3,9 тыс.3 года назад
Going to replace this old saw with a new scroll saw. I got this saw from my mom and dad for my 7th birthday in October of 1954. Been using it off and on for 66 years now. (I'm now 73 years old) In last part of video I show you the very first project I made back then.
A Box for Japanese - NAKAHASHI - Hollow Mortice bits

Since these bits are a little costly I decided to make a good box to store them all in. 1/4 inch baltic birch plywood with hard maple edge strips.

I couldn't find a video about this machine before I bought mine so thought I would show a little about it for others thinking about getting it.

Grizzly Bench Top Radial Arm Drill Press

Just a quick video to let you know what your getting if you decide to buy this drill press. For wood it will work just fine. I would not recommend drilling steel with this drill. It is not strong enough for that in my opinion.
Delta 36-725 or 36-5000 series zero clearance plate Using Original Throat Plate
Просмотров 3,2 тыс.4 года назад
A simple way to make a zero clearance plate for 36-725 or 36-5000 series table saws using factory plate. The holes for the no. 6, 1/2" long flat head hex drive screws are drilled on a center line 1/4 inch from the edge of the plate slot. Then countersunk to just below flush with top of plate. New factory plates can be bought here. They were around $25.00 each. www.toolpartspro.com
Router Bit Storage Tree

This video is just to give others ideas of another way to store your router bits. Make yours with as many sides as you want. It does make it easy to see what bits you have without searching in a drawer or a box.

Grizzly 17 inch Band Saw Using a ShopVac for Dust Collection
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.4 года назад
This is the Grizzly GO513X2BF Band saw. I had no 4 inch dust collection at the time I bought this saw so I made a couple add on pieces to make it work with a shop vacuum. It seems to work about as well as others I've seen using a 4 inch dust system without any alterations.
Stop Sawdust on Floor Under Delta 36-725 or 36-5000 series Table Saws
Просмотров 20 тыс.4 года назад
An easy fix for keeping the floor under your Delta saw cleaner. You will have to remove this device when you need to tilt the blade though! This saw is the Delta 36-5152 model.
A different type of router coping sled
Просмотров 3,1 тыс.4 года назад
Wanted a coping sled that held work directly on the table instead of on a raised board. This way I don't have to reset the router bit height to route other long edges on the piece I'm working on. Starting at 7:47, I open the top two drawers of cabinet to show the underside of router dust connection.
Kreg Router Table - A good router top and fence made Better!

My new router table. Decided to make a table top version for now with plans to make a lower cabinet later. Two piece router table.
I need to check out that system at Harbor Freight tomorrow. Thanks for your video
Amazing!
What a terrific project! Well done.
I purchased the floor version of that drill press from Harbor Frt. years ago. The table extends on that model. I think Grizzly carries them now, or you could get one from Ailbaba. Mine cost about $240 15-20 years ago and has been a great tool.
This is truly ingenious. I’ve been searching for a good router table design and with the tweaks, this is the best I’ve come across. Godspeed Mr Crees!
Now that you have had this mortising machine for a while now, would you recommend it? What did it cost?
I fixed this problem in mine with three little square wooden sticks. Two of the sticks I glued inside the recessed area between the plastic and table and the other longer stick I glued on the outside on to the plastic right to the left of the hole. It works absolutely great and it was a very simple fix.
Nice, where do I get extension wings like yours cast iron?
Nice setup. Thank you for sharing.🙂🙂
Ok, I'm disappointed - I thought you were going to show us a clever way to get your initial pattern of rings. But turned out you mostly already had that, and just bought your original reference. Is there a way to do this by hand, from scratch, and have it turn out close to exactly right? For any number of holes spaced around your disk? I need 26 - I'm in the early phases of making a historically accurate German Enigma machine. So I'll need those locations to line up through four rotors, each of which has the holes in four stacked up disks, and they have to match all the way through in all 26 rotational positions any of the rings can be in.
Good review I’m surprised there are not more reviews seems like a very good mortise machine
How do you do ovals?? I love your simple jigs.
Zzzzzzzz
God I would love to spend year with you Sir... or more... great job on showing us great tips too improve this tool... god bless ...
Dick was a long time friend of mine his talents were too numerous to list we lost Dick in early 2022 but his memory lives on thru the videos he shared. Godspeed Dick!
Just wanted to let everyone know, Richard "Dick/aka The Rod Doctor" passed away January 21, 2022 after a short battle with cancer . You will always be remembered !
I think about Dick everyday he was so gifted in so many different areas and a long time friend who is dearly missed!
Thank's ! He was one of my best friends and is missed every day. RIP Doc !
Really enjoyed this review Richard. I have one on order and I feel much better about it now that I've seen you walk through it. Mostly, I'm struck by how immaculate you keep your shop!
Great design! Thank yo for sharing! I just picked up my first Delta Contractor saw and am setting up. I did find an above blade vacuum attachment and will match it with a zero clearance but now I also can try this if there is an issue. I did notice that my Delta has some sort of cloth/canvas material set up as a seal connecting and trying to 'seal' any gaps between the blade housing/shroud under the saw and the bottom of the table top. Not sure if this is a new addition (have not noticed this in most videos). Anyhow, would be nice for Delta to address but it is still an amazing saw at its current cost (paid 679 for my 725t2 and the Dewalt job site was 600- on sale).
Thank you for your knowledge on working with hole spacing patterns. Great video.
Thank you Richard for putting this video out there as there are not many videos about this drill press. Here we are in late 2022. Are you still satisfied with this drill press? I’m about to order this drill press as it seems very well priced almost to good to be true. Thank you again!
Richard, would you happen to have drawings or good sketches of this box----i would like to build that exact box thanx rick (not for resale----just for my own personal use thanx again rick
one of the BEST videos i have seen----you keep everything together----i would like to see more of your videos----rick
Beautiful job!
Good video! Thanks!
Imagine the outcry if a parent gave a power tool to a 7 year old kid today. Guess that is why so many young people are totally incapable of any DIY.
Good Stuff!!! - 👍
Nice looking setup, and good idea.
Este video NO sirve para nada 🤣
Excellent. Thank you sir for sharing this genius idea.
was this the smaller benchtop table, or the larger floor table?
I'm 3d print this
Great video. Smart hacks to make her work.
Reminds me of the Old Dutch Windmills, if you have ever been on the inside of one.
....that is a badass table mod you made,,
Interesting idea, Richard. The plastic film has come unstuck from my Excalibur, and rather than just glue it back on, I thought I'd see if anyone had come up with a better solution. This one certainly gives me food for thought.
thanks for sharing your experience with dp👍
Oh, that is wonderful, I am going to make one tomorrow. Thanks so much.
The machine seems to aspire to be more than it is. Thanks for the info.
Great review! Glad to see some of the corrections you made. This is on my list to order in the coming months.
That's a very useful jig. Thanks for sharing it.
I really like the dust collection plenum. Very clever.
What kind of hand drill were you using?
A 12 volt Craftsman drill.
@@richardcrees1234 Thank you :)
Great video, Richard. Thanks for posting this good information. Way too much customer modification needed on such an expensive machine. Not cool!
Space out the cuts so the bit is supported on all four sides. Really like your dust collection clamp.
Worked perfectly! Had to rip off the rounded edges on 2x4’s, in the past it has always been a complete mess. Made this little attachment and worked like a champ! Thanks for sharing!
You're Welcome!
Thanks for taking the time to make the video. It did the trick!
Love it. Great job.
Ohh! So nice thanks for share!
Could anybody please tell me the difference between the Delta 36-725t2 model and the 36-5000t2 model? They seem to look identical and have the same exact specifications, but the 36-5000t2 costs around double the price? Thank you very much, guys
I believe it’s the HP.
Great design. Thanks for sharing.
