Bruan Strowman was “slimed” by Shane McMahon on Monday night raw .... you mean to tell me they couldn’t give us a program with Braun and Big Show prior ? Insanity
@@coldbrutalhonesty They had a trilogy, in fact. Roman helped get Braun over as a monster _character_ with the "I'M NOT FINISHED WITH YOU!!!" and the ambulance-flipping, but Big Show really helped get Braun over as a monster _worker_ with those matches, some of the best ones Big Show had in the last decade, especially the cage match. It really passed the torch from Big Show to Braun. And then WWE completely dropped the ball with Braun, unsurprisingly, and it almost all went to waste.
Imagine having basically the second coming of Andre the Giant working for you, but he's also athletic, healthy, and can actually talk, and telling him in no uncertain terms "You're a job guy now." People perceive him how they do because of YEARS of mismanagement. When you really think back on it, it's kind of amazing how poorly Paul has been treated his entire career. Imagine if they had used Undertaker the way they used Big Show. That should give you a sense of how silly WWE's treatment of Big Show really was when you think about it. I hope Paul can teach some of AEW's big guys like Lance Archer and Luchasarus how to work big.
I’ll say again that he could’ve been used a lot better during his time in WWE than he was. But it also isn’t nearly as black and white as “you’re a job guy now”. It was a mix of a lot of things. Multiple people have mentioned that during his initial years in the company they never really went with him because he wasn’t fully invested and working hard. He was out of shape and smoking cigarettes etc. And he was asked to get in shape and wasn’t doing it and eventually it led to them sending him to a development territory to get in shape. You’re not gonna have a guy like that being the standard bearer of the company as your champion. That aspect is on Show. But in the end he was a 5 time world champion in WWE, which is nothing to sniff at. But at the same time he never really had long title runs and was never really viewed as the company’s top guy. So definitely could’ve been better in that aspect. WWE definitely fell short in the sense of how they booked him long term. They always seemed to flip flop him from being a face or heel and killed the credibility of those turns over that time. I think a lot of that could’ve been due to Show being a team player. He seems like a dude who was always willing to do what he was asked story wise and may have benefitted from saying no more often. But coming full circle to being told he’s a job guy deserves more context. By the time that happened by his timeline would’ve been around 2016. So Show was around 43-44. So being told he wasn’t going to be the top star and was going to be used to help build the younger guys reallt isn’t that surprising. It’s the life cycle of wrestling. In this same time period the Dudley’s came back and spent basically the whole time putting new day over. It’s just how it happens barring some exceptions like the really big names.
Big Show & Sheamus had a really underrated feud & had some sleeper matches that turned out to be great in 2012. Same with Big Show & Mark Henry in 2011.
From all the people Ryback is a mid carder at best lol. Just because he was big and in great shape doesn't mean he should have been treated like he was the biggest star. The guy had shitty gimmick, botched matches and injured people.
Always loved Paul Wight, always thought he was very good. My favorite moments from WWE with him is when he beat Brock Lesnar for the WWE title and when slammed Rey Mysterio into the turnbuckle while Rey was on a stretcher.
FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK, I'M WHAT YOU WANT BABY, YOU KNOW YOUR JUDAS, AND I'M YOUR PRIEST BABY WHAT I'VE GOT IS NOT FROM THE LEAST BRING IT TO THE STAGE, IN THE REIGNS OF THE BEAST STEP IN THE ARENA AND BREAK THE WALLS DOWN STEP IN THE ARENA AND BREAK THE WALLS DOWN
With WWE, there's just too much damn politics, and it's been that way for decades and decades. If Paul Wight had to get out and move on, more power to him.
Please explain to me what exactly Paul Wight is working hard at? Not only is he selfish but he sucks. Just saying bruh. Nobody will miss this clown in WWE. There's a reason the fans were chanting please retire. AEW needs to stop wasting money on washed up scrubs like Big Show and Christian Cage who add nothing to the product. When young talent like Andrade and Aleister Black become available that's who they should be throwing their money at.
I dont think they ever gave Paul a fair shake as Giant and I think it was because of Vince's love for Andre. I think subconsciously he thought if he let Paul off the chain it would be a disrespect to Andre's memory.
His time in WWE is interesting to analyze. Hard to say it was a successful one considering he was a five time world champion. And he was a signed wrestler there for around 22 years so he probably made a shit load of money there. But he also is one who could’ve been a lot more I think had they booked him differently during his time there. Show is a guy who sporadically would get booked as a giant but they always seemed to flip flop him from good to bad guy whenever he’d get going. I tend to think the reason they didn’t truly ever anoint him as a top guy and run with him for an extended time is less of an Andre thing and more because he wasn’t committed enough in their eyes for periods of time. JR has told stories about them getting on his ass about getting in shape and such and that he wouldn’t do it. When he did finally go out and do it he was fairly old unfortunately.
Though I'm not a wrestler, I admire you both Paul and Chris so damn much. They are genuine idols of mine and I hope both of you get what you truly deserve (from years working so hard in the Wrestling industry) out of AEW. The respect is through the roof for both of you and I know what it's like to struggle with needed change whether its for a job or in general, I might be on the shorter end a little (A LOT) 5'11 but since a life changing surgery I've struggled to stay fit and honestly don't know to deal or fix it or how to get my 6 pack back after all these years. But seeing Paul this way and his drive, I feel like I've got my inspiration back to at least try something. Thank you both of you and I cannot wait to see you both back together in a ring as competitors or even partners once again.
Big Show, Diesel, Kane, Heidenreich, Great Khali, JBL, Stroman.... They are all giants with huge power that get turned into jokes so others don't look bad. Imagine if they made Big Show the boss battle of WWE always destroying anyone he gets in front of. Anyone who would beat him would be amazing. That's how I felt watching John Cena win at WrestleMania giving Big Show the old "FU" or "Attitude Adjustment". That moment was memorable.
So is this gonna be a new thing where if a wrestler leaves wwe to go to aew , renee young and chris jericho will always invite that wrestler into their podcast
When big show started telling his story... I was thinking they do the same shit with kane. And ultimately in the end, big show said it out loud 😂😂 people like big show & kane are legends but WWE alwaysssssssss just used them to promote someone else
I can really agree with what you said it’s true how many legends that wwe has awash used them to promote someone else smh wwe have no respect for no wrestler no matter if it’s a new wrestler or a legend that does so much for mad long years and never gets the respect that they deserve
There does come a point where your job needs to be building a new talent, thats true of every wrestler. However I really feel like the problem with WWE is they had Show and Kane build like 10 new guys then just decide to never use them so now you have all these guys on the shelf and Show and Kane looking like jobbers.
Wow, i love some wrestlers from WWE, but when company run the ship like that, it's frustrating to watch it, cuz as long as they stay #1, nothing changes...then people get upset with wrestlers going to AEW, wake up, they are trying to better their lives... they will only use Paul as jobber basically for NxT talent...

This comment makes zero sense. Kurt angle got squashed by no talent Corbin. Cena let over the hill taker smash him. Wwe is all about putting legends in their place
While Big Show was made very famous in WWE, they yoyo'd his story and character so much. Paul is not stupid to leave a company after so many years if there wasn't something wrong. He was changing from heel to face within one week and then back. He was always used for someone's character turn or as a punching bag. Braun is going through the same now.
Kane’s not really the same, though. He’s been a mayor for two years and was still able to step into the main event when he did return, whether that be against Brawn Strowman or competing for the title at the Rumble with he and Lesnar. He also headlined the Saudi Show with Taker and DX. He’s also going into the HOF. I admire Big Show for getting in shape, but perhaps had he been in shape in his prime, the company would’ve taken him more seriously. That said, good luck to him in AEW.
If it wasn't steph or hhh. We should know who told show that. Hell by the sounds of it someone middle management or a bit higher up that is making costly management decisions that no upper is hearing about it.
Remember that random ass Big Show/Sheamus WHC match at HIAC? I remember that shit stealing the show and busting out one of the best matches that year. Big Show is great when he’s on man.
@@AlexYBITW I'd argue that feud came outta nowhere after Big Show's WWE Title feud with Cena and Punk. But I agree with Show vs Sheamus HiaC '12 being a surprise hard-hitting match.
1:17 Show explaining how he was still in the mindset of being all for the company and the boys... it's just like a mirror image of something CM Punk said on Cabana's podcast after he left... except the person they treated like shit was a guy who has been loyal to them for near 2 and a half decades. WWE's biggest problem is that they forget where they come from and have forgotten who saw them through their humble beginnings and highest peaks of popularity. They sign so much talent purely on the basis of "if we can't have them, nobody can", typically ruin said talent, and often take their dream and crush it in front of them, sending them back to whatever hometown, middle-of-nowhere indy fed they started in. This also goes for older, veteran talent. Edge and Jericho were ignored in 2010 when they explained why Cena beating almost all of Nexus at SummerSlam was a dumb fucking idea, and lo-and-behold, it was a dumb fucking idea that benefited absolutely nobody. Punk was ignored when he was constantly fighting for younger (at the time) guys like Axel, Ziggler, Kidd, etc. to be given a bit more airtime to show what they're capable of. Even Austin who, arguably, is the most popular superstar of all time, took his ball and went home in 2002 because he just couldn't understand why Vince would want him to lose clean to a rookie Lesnar on free TV, and why he didn't want to make a shit tonne of money on PPV. Has Austin apologized since then? Of course, because he's matured since then... but if you were to ask him his thoughts at the time? I'm sure he would have some choice words for Vince, probably along the lines of "Fuck Vince, I broke my neck for that motherfucker and this is the time of day I'm given?". This may sound like your typical "let's trash WWE" comment, but let me clear that up. I don't watch AEW, I barely watch WWE, but wrestling has always held a special place in my heart since I was 4 years old, and I'm now creeping up on 30, unsure if that will ever change. Let me propose this sentiment though... unless your surname is McMahon, Levesque, Cena, or Johnson... is your voice ever really heard? Even Undertaker has been put through the mill since WrestleMania 30, being pitted against "veterans" like Goldberg who could never fucking wrestle anyway, purely because the WWE has 200+ ACTIVE superstars across FIVE different weekly shows that they have nowhere near enough time (in between a PPV every other week) to build and promote, so they rely on 50+ year-old veterans to near enough kill each other in the ring for the purpose of "entertainment". All of these decisions come from the CEO, Vince McMahon. The same Vince McMahon who has only held the title of CEO since 2009, owns 34% of the shares in his own company, this coming after he slyly sold off the majority of his stock to boost it after yet another horrendous crash, just before WWE's first-quarter shareholder review in 2019. His excuse? The XFL reboot. In closing, while I will always hold the WWE in high regard, it's usually only NXT or nostalgia that keep me going. Other than that, I don't know why anybody would hold loyalty towards Vince or the WWE. It doesn't matter if you've been there for a week or pushing 25 years like Paul Wight. You WILL be tossed aside like a piece of trash, and whatever you've sacrificed for the company or "the boys" will one day be met with a conversation of "your time has passed, we will use you sporadically until we put you in the Hall of Fame to collect dust like everyone else" - and yes, that includes like the likes of Mike Tyson, a convicted rapist; Donald Trump, someone who is lucky to have not been assassinated for his racism alone; Jimmy Snuka who pleads amnesia through being too wasted on drugs and booze to remember killing his girlfriend; and Scott Hall, who has also killed another human being and has cost the WWE more money than anyone else where rehab is concerned.
Coming back to this 2 yrs later after Show has done NOTHING in AEW is hilarious. They have treated him even worse than in WWE but he’s getting a big check so it’s all good I guess
His final straw was whenever some mark that has a billionaire father calls him up and offers him a multi million dollar contract like a Brock Lesnar money contract

Probably he saw people like Goldberg and Brock come and get the special treatment while he got nothing. Show still thinks he has more fuel in his tank.
Putting people over is fine but telling him he'll never main event again no matter how over he is isn't. It seemed like WWE would intentionally kill any momentum he had building to avoid being put in that situation.

@@coldbrutalhonesty it wasnt a program or a feud...
Imagine having basically the second coming of Andre the Giant working for you, but he's also athletic, healthy, and can actually talk, and telling him in no uncertain terms "You're a job guy now."
People perceive him how they do because of YEARS of mismanagement.
Yeah...literally a decade ago...

I dont think they ever gave Paul a fair shake as Giant and I think it was because of Vince's love for Andre. I think subconsciously he thought if he let Paul off the chain it would be a disrespect to Andre's memory.
No it was the WCW they didn't make them thing its always been that
They treated him well, he was a giant. But he’s old
Andre would have loved him and done whatever he could to help
Him dancing in a diaper is all I remember him for, no more badass giant after that.
Though I'm not a wrestler, I admire you both Paul and Chris so damn much. Paul would definitely help Miro to uplift his career even more.

Jeri-Show is BACK on Podcast!
1:17
Show explaining how he was still in the mindset of being all for the company and the boys... it's just like a mirror image of something CM Punk said on Cabana's podcast after he left... except the person they treated like shit was a guy who has been loyal to them for near 2 and a half decades.

Probably he saw people like Goldberg and Brock come and get the special treatment while he got nothing. Show still thinks he has more fuel in his tank.
Putting people over is fine but telling him he'll never main event again no matter how over he is isn't. It seemed like WWE would intentionally kill any momentum he had building to avoid being put in that situation.

im not saying Big Show and others can't be frustrated and that WWE is not extremely ridiculous at times but I really hate when they bitch about WWE and talk of AEW like its shangri la but yet, they have Big Show being a color commentator on AEW Dark...........the show that is not on tv, the show that is not the main show that everyone watches. Big Show complains about not being used but accepts to be used in this way????
Im sorry but there is a legit argument to be made here that the vast majority of wrestlers, both male and female are just a bunch of meatheads.
Gotta love AEW’s “sports based presentation”
What exactly were you expecting lol because they have teams set up, they have win loss records, and they have tournaments. For a wrestling show thats pretty much all you can do
@@johnnymorningstar2855 they could take themselves seriously instead of all of us laughing at them
Its been 2 years now, time to get over it buddy.
