I get that, sort of. Think it would have been funnier had she said it correctly from the jump. The cute passive-aggression would have been even more pronounced had it not been mixed with the 'oh shit, Ariana just messed up a line'.

I feel like that probably was the actual line. Like maybe she was supposed to stumble over the metaphor as the character in order to make it feel more lighthearted for the charades game

There's a short from Bowen's podcast where Arianna explains her mother actually went a bit crazy competitively during charades. She was channeling her mom for sure, but this was too funny!

I said the same exact thing! I never thought I'd see the day because most SNL skits I've seen aren't as funny and I have a fake laugh through them all lol but THIS is different in the best way possible!!!
