PLEASE KEEP DOING CHRISTMAS TUTORIALS!! I LOVE THEM AND YOU INFLUENCED ME TO MALE CROCHET CHRISTMAS DECOR FOR THE FIRST TIME. PLEASE POST MORE 🥺🙏🙏
It is cold here and expecting strong winds for the weekend with cold cold temps and mountain snow.
So cute! I would end up making this amigurumi-style though, working in the round and stuffing as it builds. Decreases and increases in the rounds to make it curl. It just seems so much more fiddly to crochet it flat like this! But it's interesting to see how patterns and techniques have evolved over time - so fun!
I was thinking the same thing about working it in the round. The seam was a little unsightly with the white in the red lines, and that would be avoided by doing it the way you suggest. 🙂
But how would you change color without that weird spot like in amigurumi? Do you know a trick that I don't, because if so I need to know!

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas 🎉
Too cute! I do have a hint for stuffing long tubes like this. I found it much easier to get the filling more smooth and even by rolling up batting (the flat mats of padding commonly used for quilts.) into the size you need. Place that rolled up batting between the WRONG SIDE layers of your project and then stitch it closed. You do either end up with a visible seam (which isn't an issue in some circumstances) or you must use a method of seaming that hides your seam when executed from the right side (using a needle) to close around the stuffing. I guess it depends on what you are making and which methods you find easier. More than one way to skin a cat! 🙀
I'm not unhappy about this being the last Christmas project. I've got plenty to do right now! I'm already planning on things to make over the winter for spring and summer. I know come warmer weather I'll be out in the garden so I have to get things made ahead. These things take time, and all the warm season yarns are on sale NOW!
Continued love from north Texas.❤🩹
Good idea! Definitely easier than stuffing!
This is the only Christmas crochet that I’ve seen you do this year. I’m only in about 5 months of watching your videos. I was hoping you would do snow flakes & angels . But it’s your decision. 🥺☹️ Take Care !
47 and raining here. Been in the 50's and 60s. I think this project is very cute. I will have to try this out. I love your videos😊😊😊
Very cute. The unseamed length would make a cute scarf. I was thinking if you wanted to use it as a decoration you could stuff the straight part with a pool noodle or something so that it could stand up. ❤ love your videos even though I am just starting to dabble in crochet. The idea to carry the unused color all the way across to avoid extra tails is something I wouldn't have thought of.
A candy cane scarf is on my list, I think they’re so cute and festive!!!
It’s chilly in PA. As for the hook part of the candy cane, perhaps a running stitch just in that tight curve and pulling it into a gathered portion would make that candy cane shape?
Please do a few more Christmas patterns! Small things! Love them! And please do Mysteries and the Flip & Pick!
I enjoy watching you crochet! I always learn something new. I really like how you start a row with a chain one and then put your stitch in the same place! Looks much neater on the edge. I like reading the comments and getting ideas of how a candy cane could be made in an easier fashion. Many of your subscribers are like you and "think outside the box."
These are adorable! ❤️🤍❤️ I would make it in the round, just like when I make amigurumi snakes. You stuff them as you make them. Also, you wouldn't have to sew & no seam ❤
Hubby says thank you so much for sending his order back to him!😊
Very nice! I love candy canes. These would be easily modified for different sizes to fit wherever you need them 😊
As I frantically try to finish gifts I was too sick to finish last year, you keep showing me new stuff I want to make ❤❤❤
At least stuff like this is a short project. Something I can whip up while I take a break from the blanket that is absolutely never going to end because I made it for the tallest person on earth! 😂😂😂😂
😊 I love your humor
I love it! My granddaughter would play with it though!
Cute pattern. I live in Indiana and we have been in the 60's and low 70's. I hate it. I am so ready for snow. Thanks for another fun video.
Good draft blocker for me here in South Africa, especially where I live - we have a lot of wind and a lot of trees, I am constantly sweeping up little leaves that have blown in under the door and thru the open windows 😖😖. I filled mine with a big bin bag filled with sea sand - got lots of that too 😄 and its nice and heavy
For the long part, up to the crook, a pool noodle would be perfect. Would create the structure for the length, whether for draft stopper or decoration, and mean less stuffing. Might also make it easier to create the crook. Love your channel!
Absolutely love it!!! I’m sad that this is the last Christmas pattern!!! Very much enjoy these. Thank you!
I had that same thought when you were stuffing... feeding the snake! Very cute. You can use it for keeping out the heat, so it works! Hugs!
I feel that christmas is on the way...some how I got those vibes...can't explain. 😉I have no use for a candy cane in this size, so ad least this is a pattern I can easiely skip 😁. Thank you again. To save filling a pool noodle or those coverthings from the hardware store could work as well. I save up all my snips and yarn peaces and use that as filling.
We had actually a very nice, cold but sunny day. I enjoyed it.
Currently 29 degrees, expecting to warm up to mid 40's. Very cute pattern.
Cute. I can remember making smaller ones to hang on tree… crochet candy canes
Hello Corinna,
Oh this is so cute, I love it . Thank you for this sweet holiday tutorial.
I'm in the Texas panhandle and we have had pretty nice weather for this time of year. It changes, almost daily, though. Up to 70 then down to 50s. It's hard on this old arthritic body when those cold fronts come and go! Ugh! We do have wind and I need to put something under our doors. This will be cute and practical. Thanks for another quick and easy Christmas pattern! Yea!!!
Very cute. I’d definitely work this one in the round and fill as I go. You made it look easy though. Great tutorial and Merry Christmas to you and your family. Thanks again.😊
Ha! Bettlejuice sand snakes! I love that idea.
If on the curve, with white yarn, you attach in the white area & weave through the stitches, then thread under the red area & repeat for as long as you need, pull tight so the curve stays in place & knot securely & hide tails. This should help keep the shape, but like others have mentioned I would make this in joined rounds to avoid the white showing in the red areas, plus one less thing to do & stuff as you go. So much easier. Love the finished idea though ❤️❤️👏👏🇬🇧
That's a very cute pattern for Christmas! Thank you for the tutorial!
Our weather is goofy. Yesterday it was 70 degrees, today it's in the low 50s and very windy. This pattern is so cute! I have some white and red left over from a project, and I think I'm going to give this a try. I might rework it a bit to give it a permanent candy cane shape. We actually do have drafty doors, so it will be practical as well as festive!
Do you live in the Texas panhandle? That's our weather, to the tee!
@@mariankay6482 I'm actually in New Jersey, right outside of Philadelphia. :)
@@NeeCeePeeCee1968 Well, we have it least 2 things in common. The weather, right now, and the love of crochet. 🤨
Howdy!🤠🇨🇱
@@mariankay6482 Hiya! Nice to meet you!
Hi, Corinna! I'm in Southern Arizona, and it's raining here. As usual, I'm glad for it because we need it, but my body hates it. 😂
Very cute. I would myself do it in the round, stuffing as I go.
If you were to cut the ends after each color, you could sew each color closed with the tail of that color (sew the red section with the red tail, the white with the white tail)? Hope this makes sense.
This is a really cute idea! I'm in Ohio so i do get a draft. Even without the hook would be a peppermint stick. Still festive. Yellow orange and white would be candy corn, black and white Beetlejuice or nightmare before Christmas. Lots of options!😊
id like to see this more in a spiral pattern upwards, stuff it as i go along, then close up the top. what would happen if the color change row was a single crochet there wouldn't be as much of a jog, no sewing, and only two short tails to hide at the end?
Sp cute!
Arizona - keep it handy for those dusty days, block the under-door drafts then. although, I'd remake it with dust-friendly colours rather than white if i was going to do that.
Such a fun and easy pattern thankyou for sharing it
Good morning it’s raining and cold in New Hampshire
Perhaps made shorter (not as a candy cane) and in different non-holiday colors, you might find it useful in Arizona, during the summer, to keep the cool air from your air conditioning from escaping under the door. (I used to live in an apartment with large gaps under the doors, and we used them year round, only mine were zippered fabric covers stuffed with pool noodles.)
This is what i need! Def help with the draft during winter. Ty!
This is a good size n so cute! Might even try different colors n different sizes of hooks. Great find!
I love this... it's so much fun!!! I used sparkly gray yarn! ❤
i LOVE it. thank you for another wonderful video. ❤🤍❤🤍
You can do this in multi-color too
Sweet holiday ideas! 🎄
I wonder if a pool noodle would fit in there. I’m in Australia and we usually get 95-105f Christmas days
That is very cool. Thanks for sharing! I really look forward to every one of your videos. ❤
Thank you for the Christmas videos and ideas. May you and your family have A Verry Happy Thanksgiving. Many Blessings
Very cute
That's too cute!❤
Have you seen aa patter for the Christmas door hangers? We had those growing up on both sides of the living room and kitchen doors into the living/dining room. That way we would not be able to see what was there for us under the tree.
😊love this pattern. Awaiting yarn to make a set.
So cute, I love it ❤
Love it. TY for sharing. Your explanation and advice is brilliant 😊 is that someone typing on a typewriter in the background? Not complaining at all just wondering. 🤔 xx
Very cute Corrina! And so easy! Will probably make it next year - I'll be lucky to finish all of the Christmas projects on my list!
I learned a new trick this year, so I would seam this differently. I would sc together the first white section with white then attach red and sc along the red section, then white on white, red on red going up the seam. Just carry the yarn along - it'll be on the inside. Gives a more "professional" looking final product and only adds one tail! (my learning project had 28 tails per motif, but it was VERY worth it).
I like the comments about using a pool noodle to stuff the candy cane and was already envisioning the wedges I'd have to cut out to create the curve. (I liked the suggestion to do a running stitch to draw up the bend) Then I thought "would it fit in my washer"? Fiberfill would bend. What was the approximate finished length of your candy cane?
Thank you for your fun Christmas projects! Love each of your videos.
I'm in AZ with you this morning and it's rainy where I am and I'm loving it because as a native New Englander, I miss the rain, lol. I was just wondering about how many rows does the 43" equal out to? I'm only at 9 mins in and working it with you.
So cute! Love it! Well done, as usual. I'm sort of new to the channel, have been following you for quite some time but only recently had time to watch. Pretty sure I'm "hooked", pun intended. You're so sweet and make people feel like they're hanging out with a friend.
I wouldin't worry about curving into a cane..peppermint stick, ta da. Then have a candy cane sword fight, have fun.
You know I would almost cut up a pool noodle to fit in it! Then you could just stuff the curved part with stuffing!
Wonder why the pattern isn’t done in the round, then stuffed from each end, and cinched top and bottom rounds?! Seems like it would be easier and give a nice candy cane twist. I’m new to crochet so maybe I’m crazy.
💙
So you will be posting more Christmas stuff on your other channel?
How about using a pool noodle?
