For my makeup wearing ladies as soon as you get home after work remove your makeup and cleanse you faces and neck and apply your evening creams lotions and potions. I’m 60, and the best way to describe my skin is reactive. Any time I try something new I have to go very slow. About 20 years ago, when all of a sudden most laundry detergents started to turn my whole body into a big, red mess; my dermatologist had me go back to the basics and use zinc everywhere I was red. It was my miracle! I’ve kept a tub of zinc in my bathroom ever since. And to my friends and family who have laughed when I recommended it to them, looks like I was ahead of the curve! Thanks for your helpful videos.

I'm young, like young enough to not be able to get a driver's license and I'm not a dermatologist but i always put the thickest layer of moisturiser on my face before bed and in the morning my face is ready for makeup :D so yeah, if anyone reading is under 20 just stick to a moisturizer and other light stuff cause those ingredients are usually too harsh
Over night beauty hacks that have blown my mind with how effective they are: 1. Frownies work! I’m sold for life. My forehead wrinkles are significantly reduced after a few weeks. 2. Hydrocolloid nose patches. The big ones that cover your whole nose and part of your cheeks. They pull so much sebum and gunk out overnight, you wake up with almost invisible pores on your nose! 3. Silicone scar tape! Works best if you press hard on them otherwise they slide off in your sleep. I apply them on any PID marks from healed acne. I go to bed with my frownies, my nose patch, 1 or 2 scar patches on my PID, a few other hydrocolloid pimple patches. I look weird! But it all works.
Also I love frownies but I use so many i got to thinking about how you could make them yourself( Its rediculous that they dont make larger pieces) But I just happen to find a video of a woman that does it and tells what she used and how she did it. It's in one of the thousands of videos I save for me to watch later😂 and your comment just reminded me 😂😂😂 I NEED TO FIND IT
34yo here! Your video talking about retinol in moisturizers possibly being too high & being the reason for peeling/flaking HELPED SO MUCH I had started adding neutrogena night cream with .3% or smth, figuring i should upgrade my routine w/better products? and my face was constantly peeling w/dead skin, flaky patches. fresh out of the shower I'd apply there'd be a stinging but I thought that's happened before, water was just too hot... then my chest developed tiny bumps, idly scuffed my nails across & now there's bloody little wounds! Within a week of tossing it everything was gone [facepalm] Returned to my old moisturizer
you can use retinol on damp skin or it will burn you. make sure your face is completely dry before applying it. if your skin is sensitive, apply a face cream first and then retinol 5min later
She should do a video on what matches with what.Im always so confused on what to pair when using retin A.Ive heard nothing except moisturizer. Then I read glycolic acid,I've no idea but, perhaps a video where we can see what not to pair with what.
For me it’s the more glowier I go to bed the better I look in the morning. I’m not putting a million unnecessary products on my face… As someone with skin, I know that you shouldn’t get sucked into all these different gimmicky brands. I just stick to 2 products at night (niacinamide serum and moisturiser) and 3 things during the day (vitamin c serum, moisturiser and sunscreen) and my face is flawless and soft as a baby’s bottom 🤷🏼♀️ I only cleanse at night time with a gentle cleanser…. I don’t wear much makeup so I don’t need to do much cleansing or else it will fk my skin up lol.
HUGE question⚠️🤞🏼! What type of pillow is best to sleep on with the zinc oxide on? I ordered the same jar you have, & use it on my non-tretinoin nights. However my face sticks to the pillow & I wake up with it everywhere. My husband laughs, but I always have to do laundry then lol. Plus, anyone who does this beauty hack, A WARM WASH CLOTHE IS THE BEST WAY TO REMOVE THE BOOTY PASTE, then I just shower, cleanse, tone, moisturize, sunblock, & use some drunk elephant anti-pollution drops, set it with the Tarte SPF mineral click pen & go. But love this hack, have actually been telling a lot of patients about it & I get portal messages, with attachment images of how happy they are & their skin does look soooo good. ♥️♥️♥️ all your videos.
Maybe put enough on that you can stick one of those disposable thin paper masks on top and it will act as a barrier? I’m talking about the kind that come in little plastic balls and you are supposed to soak them in your own toner, etc, to make your own sheet mask. I bought a container of these inexpensively at TJMaxx.
If u r using tretnoin, why do u need glycolic? M a beginner I use glycolic all nights except the day I use retinol n the next day. I use retinol twice a week.
Yea I was wondering this as well. I use tretinoin every night but then use glycolic acid toner sometimes during the day. But it messes up my skin barrier sometimes
You're meant to use exfoliating acids a couple of nights a week, in between your retinoid nights. So, you could do retinoid for 2-3 nights, then glycolic one night, then retinoid again 2-3 nights etc. The retinoid speeds up the cell turn around time so they die faster than usually, and the glycolic acid removes that surface dead skin. Hope that helps
It's not rare that people go to town once hooked on retinoids - if seasoned users and with non-reactive skin, they layer both tretinoin and acids in the same routine, claiming that they got the most amazing results by doing that. Now kids are doing thing called 'tret on wet', which is self-explanatory I guess. I remember dr Idriss talked about using tretinoin up to 4 days a week and acids on other days, but she also mentioned few times that she would use both in the same routine. There are products around which have both on their ingredient list, of course, appropriate formulations that won't be damaging I suppose. I don't know. I'm for less is more approach. Especially if the skin doesn't have major issues. If drugstore retinol works, as long as it works and the skin is happy - no need to upgrade for me.

Not sure for her but some people can sleep still so it's not an issue. If you roll around in your sleep or shove your face into your pillow then it's 100% getting into your sheets, you'll prolly be changing your pillowcase every time you do this
I put it on about 2 hours before bed. But if you do it really thick it will get on your pillows. I've read that it doesn't absorb into the skin but creates a barrier on top. Not sure if that's correct but 🤷♀️ it does make my face feel smooth and moisturized in the morning though

Listen up people! I have tried all of these different face creams that all the influencers push and none of them ever gave me real results! I finally whittled it down to two products that work best and it’s the one she’s talking about… I still use a face cleanser and a hydrating cream as well but other than that these are the only two face cream I use! And they work!!!
Are there any diaper rash creams that should be avoided? Between Triple paste, Desitin, and Equate from Walmart they have very different ingrediants and strengths of zinc oxide. Is there a zinc oxide level that is too much? Desitin has talc and I know it is an ingredient people avoid in the lower region, but what about your face? Lanolin can cause allergy issues for some people? Just wondering if you have an advice on this subject? Thank you for you videos they are a great help❤❤❤
What about retinol. Can you do face basting on the day you apply retinol. Also I thought we were supposed to do face basting on top of glycolic acid. Was I doing it wrong all along?😢
I started a skincare routine washing every night, using retinol every other night and exfoliating every three nights, and my skin broke out terribly. I kind of freaked out and stopped doing all of it and now my skin is back to a healthy state. Do you have any suggestions for a situation like this?
Doc said on the nights she is NOT exfoliating she uses the butt cream. The butt cream is amazing. That shit really works❤❤❤ ps: she also said you might want to start out with the mask for 5 minutes to see how your skin reacts. Work your way up to toleration then you can sleep with it overnight ❤🎉❤
@melindavalle173 Thank you, Melinda. I'm wondering, though, on the nights we do exfoliate with the mask all night, do we not follow that up with any moisturizer? When I use Good Genes or any other type of exfoliant, I top it with a moisturizer, and I don't exactly love the idea of not using something moisturizing while I sleep.
@@elliebelly456Hi Ellie. My understanding is you sleep with the mask on overnight. The following morning wash your face with water and follow with skincare. I personally cannot tolerate it overnight. I leave it on for about 10-15 minutes, wash off with water, then go to sleep with the butt cream. I wake up with unbelievably soft, soft skin.
Can someone please tell me how do people leave pastes on their face for all night without it getting on the sheets, your hair and basically everywhere? Am I just a messy sleeper or what?
I get great results only using a thin layer, applied on damp skin, so it completely rubs in. I have a sheen to my face but it isn’t white. Perhaps a thick layer is even more effective, by my way works great for me! The key for it is damp skin though or it’s hard to rub in!

Castor oil is tops in my book. Nice combo with shea butter. i want to try the top 4 oils to eliminate wrinkles, putting a drop of each in castor oil for one application. 4. Rosehip oil has Vit A which helps produce ore collagen. 3. Argan oil Vit E and Ferulic acid reduces inflammation. 2. Pomegranate oil has omega 5 which increases firmness and plumpness and the number 1 oil is Marula Oil full of amino acids. Don't you find that Castor oil does reduce wrinkles by plumping up the skin?
Would love a tip for us in scandinavia; The sun doesn't go down here in the summer, like it's daylight 24/7, so sleeping with acids a little bit of an issue.
Yup! I mean def use sunscreen every day. Like 50 SPF. My skin cannot handle acids every night but when I do use acid exfoliants, I have no issues as long as I use sunscreen during the day.
The diaper rash cream saved my face when I had an allergic reaction that wouldn’t go away! I must have had 100+ allergic reaction acne pimples and one night of cream fixed it 85%. 2 nights is was 99% and 3 nights my skin looked better than ever!

Just let it dry down before you put it on. If you do this an hour before bed or should be dry. And if any gets on the cpap just give it a good wipe down in the morning
Maybe put the mask on for an hour or two then wash it off and moisturize before you go to bed. I would think the acids have enough time to do their job

Not sure for her but some people can sleep still so it's not an issue. If you roll around in your sleep or shove your face into your pillow then it's 100% getting into your sheets, you'll prolly be changing your pillowcase every time you do this
I’ve tucked a soft towel around my pillow at night when I’ve basted with Sudocrem (ZO cream).
😮my skin is so sensitive. I use coconut oil at night
Wake up to a smooth face
And inexpensive ❤
I love the ending.... Made me laugh... Priceless 😊
Face basting has been a GAME CHANGER. I do this 2-3 times a week and the effect on my rosacea has been amazing.

Absolutely beautiful skin!!
What product are you using for the glycolic acid, please? Thank you.
It looks like it may be something from her own skincare line
It’s her Flash Mask
@@MarivelMendez Thank you!
Do you wash the since off in the morning? How does it not end up all over the pillows? Does it absorb into the skin
Thank youuu!! I've been wondering the same about the buttpaste
You've gotta sleep on your back!
I put it on about 2 hours before bed. But if you do it really thick it will get on your pillows. I've read that it doesn't absorb into the skin but creates a barrier on top. Not sure if that's correct but 🤷♀️ it does make my face feel smooth and moisturized in the morning though
Exactly my husband doesn’t even ask anymore 😂 you don’t look a day over 25. Your skin is gorgeous ❤ love your videos so much!
25 ? 🤔

WOW ❗😻TYSM Subscribed👍My mom had flawless skin thru her 70s she looked 40ish!
She used Sherry vinegar to clean her face, ears, chest, hands and neck. Then the DESITIN DARLING!
( Zinc oxide cream!)
She also used lemon halves she rubbed everywhere and homemade mayo ( egg yolks EVOO, lemon juice as moisturizer for hair, skin and softest feet and hands then a layer of Vaseline to seal it in.She grew up in the dry arid Sierra's of Spain which the winds made you dry and scaly and winters were so cold in the mountains. She still did this 50 years in hot and humid FLORIDA!
Thank you for sharing it with us🥰👍
Please list the glycolic acid and paste mask you used. Thanks doc
Hahaha mine always plays around acting like "OMG! We've GOT to take you to the ER right now! There's something terribly wrong with you...".😆
Listen up people! I have tried all of these different face creams that all the influencers push and none of them ever gave me real results! I finally whittled it down to two products that work best and it’s the one she’s talking about… I still use a face cleanser and a hydrating cream as well but other than that these are the only two face cream I use! And they work!!!
Hey which hydrating cream you use?

Are there any diaper rash creams that should be avoided? Between Triple paste, Desitin, and Equate from Walmart they have very different ingrediants and strengths of zinc oxide. Is there a zinc oxide level that is too much? Desitin has talc and I know it is an ingredient people avoid in the lower region, but what about your face? Lanolin can cause allergy issues for some people? Just wondering if you have an advice on this subject? Thank you for you videos they are a great help❤❤❤
The one she uses is triple paste.
Yes I wanna know too. I'm allergic to lanolin 😢
Could you link the products used, please? ❤
What about retinol. Can you do face basting on the day you apply retinol.
Also I thought we were supposed to do face basting on top of glycolic acid. Was I doing it wrong all along?😢
Your skin is very perfect. You can't have a bad skin. You are very very very lucky.
Please please put the pictures of both products. I dont want to make any mistakes :) than you, greetings from México ❤
Triple paste zinc oxide is one of them.

Zinc oxide is what is used to prevent diaper rash.
She also used her Flash Mask from her line
I use the Ordinary glycolic acid 7%, just once a week since I have dry skin
My favorite dermatologist i love your spirit so much ❤
Is the zinc oxide cream safe for acne prone skin? :’)
I have acne prone skin and I started using the Triple Paste brand because of her. It's been about a month now and I haven't gotten a single pimple.
@@wednesday55 thank you for your reply! :) that’s reassuring!
I started a skincare routine washing every night, using retinol every other night and exfoliating every three nights, and my skin broke out terribly. I kind of freaked out and stopped doing all of it and now my skin is back to a healthy state. Do you have any suggestions for a situation like this?
I did this routine for almost 6 months and it just just got worse overtime
What would you suggest for sensitive skin, I suffer from eczema. Does that zinc oxide paste work on my skin type?
I looked up the butt paste she uses in this video and it's accepted by the national eczema association. 🙌🏻
You are adorable ❤!
How are y’all cleaning it off in the morning ? It feels like wax and repels water so it’s hard to get the dipe cream off .
Cotton pad with some toner on it does the job for me.
Warm water? Should help
@@aleksandram9008 -same here or use Bioderma and rinse with just water- I use cold water in am
Use a facial cleanser possibly with oil if it’s that difficult. It shouldn’t be.

Can we combine the acids with retinol, if the skin tolerates it?
Doc, had you experience Skin Purging? And how did you get successful from that period? Share best practices and principles
If I have a sensitive skin, what alternative I can do to exfoliate my skin? Or should I totally just skip that part?
Do you leave the zinc paste overnight?
Yes
You are beautiful. 👍 What cheap thing do you recommend for black heads, large pores.?❓❓
2 Q’s:
1. Are you applying the butt paste over the exfoliating mask?
2. You can keep flash mask on overnight?
Thank you! I'm wondering about both of your questions, too. No washing off mask before paste?
Doc said on the nights she is NOT exfoliating she uses the butt cream. The butt cream is amazing. That shit really works❤❤❤
ps: she also said you might want to start out with the mask for 5 minutes to see how your skin reacts.
I cleanse followed by the mask and the the exact butt cream and my skin tolerates loves it just fine
What brand of zinc oxide tat you are using?

Which glycolic acid do you use?
Flash Mask from my brand Dr. Idriss 💜
I use LaRoche-Posay cicaplast Baume, Roc Retinol Correxion, and triple paste on my face at night.
I learned this from you, Dr. Idriss! Love it!!
Can someone please tell me how do people leave pastes on their face for all night without it getting on the sheets, your hair and basically everywhere? Am I just a messy sleeper or what?
They practice sleeping flat 😅 i'm a side sleeper, i cant do that
Just leave it for one hour.
A woman who does that to her man…
I get great results only using a thin layer, applied on damp skin, so it completely rubs in. I have a sheen to my face but it isn’t white. Perhaps a thick layer is even more effective, by my way works great for me! The key for it is damp skin though or it’s hard to rub in!
name of the product please @@Makai-mq2uv
@@drisshansfreetime453 same. I'm not even a side sleeper, I roll around all night and considering I already have problems falling asleep I can't even think to make it worse like this

She ain't lying. Butt paste is an acne game changer!
Hi Dr., I purchased your mask. Do we leave the mask on overnight or cleanse it after 15 minutes. Thank you for clarification.
Is Desitin baby butt cream a good option for zinc oxide mask?
Curlers and cold cream back in the day. I mix castor oil and shea butter then slap it on. Now with my headless curlers.... its genius.
Close those curtains so it will be nice and dark.
That’s so crazy I’d love to experience that.
Yup! I mean def use sunscreen every day. Like 50 SPF. My skin cannot handle acids every night but when I do use acid exfoliants, I have no issues as long as I use sunscreen during the day.
Aluminium window blinds/covers from Ikea or Jysk, you roll them up and down. AND curtains! It is what I use as my sleep schedule is weird.
@Artemis-goddess // I have the Zebra blinds along with curtains like you, and they've been a life saver when it comes to sleep.
The diaper rash cream saved my face when I had an allergic reaction that wouldn’t go away! I must have had 100+ allergic reaction acne pimples and one night of cream fixed it 85%. 2 nights is was 99% and 3 nights my skin looked better than ever!
Dear which glycolic acid is this . I have tried many but they never suits me.
Can you give advice for strawberry 🍓 legs?!? 🙏🏼
What about the zinc cream for the lips? 😊
Hey could you do a video on how you get your eyelids so even toned ? They look so bright compared to my dark eyelids … I have tried everything and just don’t seem to go away . Any product recommendations would be really helpful
Do you wash off glycolic mask after 1 hr?
She sleeps with it on but if you are sensitive and cannot tolerate it that long you can wash it off however long you can stand it, even if it’s just 20 min
Dr. Idriss, can I use this while I’m using Tretinoan??
Sink oxide paste for skin barrier! Going to try!
I also use castor oil at night

My skin feels dry after sleeping with zinc paste on, any solution for that ? Should I apply a moisturizer after ? Before ? Thanks:)
I just wanted to ask, what can I do if I have Melia? (idk if I spelled that correct but its when you have skin bumps and exfoliating irritates it more)
I went and got a facial recently and I have a few of them and they can very quickly and easily take them out for you. Call an esthetician or dermatologist
A weekly clay mask helped reduce my milia.
Lol loved that advice haha and loved the quote 🤭
I remember watching old movies and sitcoms like "I love Lucy" and they women would go to bed with a face full of white cream...it definitely was a thing women did in the 1950's. But I wonder if they used Nivea cream.
Ponds?
PONDS. My Grandmother used a whole face of PONDS every evening when going to bed. Also used “marital sheets” (look it up) because they were DEVOTED CATHOLICS 😅 and letting my grandfather “see her” or “feel” her when making babies was a BIG NO-NO 🤣

Would be glad for a response ❤❤
Do you have any tips for people who wear a CPAP at night? I feel like I can never participate in these things because I have tubing laying across my nose/cheeks at night 🥲
Just let it dry down before you put it on. If you do this an hour before bed or should be dry. And if any gets on the cpap just give it a good wipe down in the morning
Put pure gum spirits of turpentine on the soles of your feet and cover with socks
I like to slather it on for better breathing
Maybe put the mask on for an hour or two then wash it off and moisturize before you go to bed. I would think the acids have enough time to do their job
Lol I loved this ❤ 😂😂
Doc, is it okay for brown people to use glycolic acid as an exfoliant?
NO. Nope. Lactic acid or mandelic in
stead, if you must.
I've heard that quote before and I was doing all kinds of stuff for a while, it definitely worked but I think my skin got sensitive or something because I started having some issues and acne that wouldn't go away, that eventually got worse lol(it's finally going away now)
I use mandelic acid, used to have a glycolic acid toner though, burned sometimes though so idk about trying that again
Would be nice if you told us the real secret which is what products did you just use? That would be nice :)
