The Immortal Mark Felix, such a legend, WSM got stick for inviting him every year, but people forgot Mark has got events that he can destroy people on, loading isn't bad, deadlift he is still strong, athletic ability is great and stones he is decent on
Mark Felix is one of those guys who shows you age is just a number. I'm 55 and guys like him keep me going. *EDIT* I'm glad I'll be able to be at worlds next month to see Mark, and Brian Shaw compete in person before they retire.
Mark is a proper down to earth bloke, no airs/graces/bullshit. As for him going to WSM. Its great for him being there because he is still competitive, and he is a fantastic ambassador for the sport the like there is no other.
i agree with the direction this sport is going in, you can tell in the old videos back in the day that a lot of competitors had poor sportsmanship, happy to hear it has gotten better from the mouth of Felix himself!
If you're continuing the Pillow Talk series at WSM, definitely need a Pillow Talk episode with Mark and one with Brian Shaw. Brian might be a hard get due to how focused he'll surely be during the comp but maybe after it's all over? I'd have to imagine there's going to be some sort of epic party this year to honor this WSM being Mark's and Brian's last WSM comps.
I think what inspires me most about Mark is his unadulterated and uncomplicated love of the process of training and competing. Everyone at the top level of course loves those things (or did at one time) but it seems from what he says Mark loves the process MORE then the result. He knows how to push his limits enough to progress and how to compete with ferocity and determination but he never gets swept up in the moment or risks his ability to do what he loves for one moment of glory. A lot of top athletes are admired for their willingness to do whatever it takes to win, or their determination to suffer for their craft. Mark has paved a path that is more applicable for most of us: 1. Work relentlessly 2. Learn to know your body so you can trust your body 3. Never stop showing up 4. Adapt and overcome as your body and circumstances change We can’t all be world class athletes like Mark but we can all strive to be as good 60 as we were at 30.
57 is just unbelievable, Mark is probably the most impressive athlete along with Brian and _Zydrunas and I'm pretty sure he still works a full time job as a plasterer
This is what I like about RUclips, binge watch a bunch of these at a go. Mark needs to have his DNA put on ice, freak of nature and his longevity is unhead of
Loz was (quite realistically IMO) down on mark's chances to make the final but he sounds really up for the challenge. Hope he goes out with a bang, what a legend
This "10 minutes with" series is great, but before the 10 minutes can you get them to landscape their phone and avoid the bad light? Be even better then.👌
@@isakengkilde5382, yes Loz has admitted to not being natty but he still does not want to talk about it, he still makes a living from strongman and does not want to jeopardize his sponsors or job opportunities.
Mark is from hard working Caribbean nations with very good natural land and sea foods just like myself from St Lucia. Wouldn't be surprised if he is not and if he is he started late. Many of us through hard work and good natural food are quite jacked without ever seeing a gym.
The most amazing fact about Felix is that he started strongman at an age most have retired.
He's a large part of why I started training a bit of Strong Man in my 40's, hard to make excuses when you see what he can do at 10 years my senior 🙂
Mark competed in natural bodybuilding til he was 36. He has never been drunk ever an started working at age 6.

Me to I made it a point to be there this year
@@jameschristy9966 Yeah, should be a good show.

The moment Mark’s hand came into frame and eclipsed the sun! 😂 Mitch getting all the tips from the legend 😇

Mark is just incredible. Would absolutely love to see him in the final.
This is my favourite! There’s not enough content of Mark talking about himself out there! Thanks for this one 👌🏻
Loving the '10mins with' Mitch
Whenever the series comes back I would love to see a Beyond Strong Podcast with Mark Felix! What a guy!

Mark is an absolute legend in the sport. Such a humble guy.
It was probably just his accent when he said it, but I like the idea that while everyone else has an Achilles tendon, Mark has a Hercules tendon
It is always a thrill for me to watch Mark compete, I am a bit older and he gives me inspiration!

Felix is a legend I hope he gets through to the final for his last WSM great interview from you with him
Soft spoken, humble Mark with hands like catchers mitts! I'd love to see him make the finals
Good to have a chat with you Mr. Felix. I think this is the first long form interview of you I've seen. Thanks for agreeing to it.

Great story with Mark
Moose dropping for another tremendous video on this series
Just a couple of A tier guys💪🏼
True legend! 🙌🏼
Mark Felix is a highlander and there can be only one

Great inerview!
When he was talking about sportsmanship near the start I wondered did he mean more being a professional sportsman than good sportsmanship?
Legend
Fabian you're uploading this in the morning 🌅
Good Lord, Mark Felix has a physiotherapist like Lewis Hamilton! Lol
Mark Felix gonna be a 100 year old strongman

🦌. . .
You are really trying hard to win WSM. You are collecting intel on everyone.
Second
First
really wish he asked him about taking steroids for decades
and if he has tried sarms or injecting peptides
These guys, especially Mitch and Loz, have said countless times they are uncomfortable talking about that stuff due to sponsorship
@@danielkelleher7246 Loz has come clean about his usage just recently, but I agree

Honestly he probably doesn’t take much
