I think everyone's got this in reverse. The whole "not from IIT" movement started when companies put restrictions on job portals to apply only if he/she are from IITs. In retaliation the students who got good jobs and aren't from IITs started putting up posts to show that one doesn't have to be from a certain educational background to achieve excellence.
Well that makes a lot of sense, but why would companies put this restrictions when the pool is so small

This is true my company doesn't hire grads from non IIT or non NIT candidates. Under grads always from IIT

I am nowhere near IITs type student but I know getting in under 2000 out of 1500000 is almost searching needle in heap of grass
getting seat based on quota is no achievement , and that's why people who do hard work mention NOT FROM IIT .
if you have really earned the seat mention rank and category too then only people will respect it .
well i never faced such an judgement for my achievements.I think one of the reasons is that I never had any achievement.

I am an IITian and i am proud of it.
I am not a IITIAN not even from tire 2 college but i never had any resentment for people who are from these top institutions because i know they did their part of hard work and i also know what kind of hard-work is requires to get there and nobody can take that away from them.
The world has come to this!
Now we will penalise people for achieving something worthwhile.

Being an IITian/NITian/IIITian is an honour. Though I was not able to make it to one but I love coding, it is like meditation for me. I will prove to be a valuable engineer and help contribute to humanity.

You nailed it.. IITians do a lot of work to get into iit. Although this started off as a message to hr discrimination..however this has turned against IITians which is blatantly wrong.. Glad that you stood against it Rachit

Its not the college name that made these people legends, its thier mindset, hardwork and skills. Companies wants iitian because of thier mindset and skill, hardwork. Hence, if we have these 3 great qualities we can be more than an iitian. Iam not from an iit, but i can have a rich mindset than iitians. Try to build a great mindset without ego. Prove yourself with actions. whether they are iitian or non iitian , they need to have self learning and good connections with people to achieve success.

I am a tier 3 college student, I already have 3 offer letters from Infosys, Capgemini and wipro but all are less than 4lpa.
I recently gave interview of a product based company and I was unable to solve even 1 question, and guess what the interviewer was an IIT Roorkee alumni.
This video makes sense, but not this comment.
You can't blame your college for placements (atleast in 2023), the most prominent reason behind you 4 lpa package is you are less hard working, I am also from tier 3 college, and I have an offer of 10 lpa in my 6th sem.

@@ritikgupta3660 I know it seems overwhelming at first but once you learn and understand the basics of question solving using DSA. You can go ahead and start working on some real world projects which will give you invaluable experience and help you with company interviews.
The person who said that "saying I am from iit means you don't have anything to show" is blaming others and is not addmiting that he was too lazy to even clear the cutoffs for iits.

lol you should not feel guilty about it. No one ever said that. This just shows how detached from reality you are. Once you are in IIT you have already proven that you are one of the best. Whereas if someone is not able to get into IIT they are automatically assumed to be lesser intelligent than IITians. Not getting into IIT is most probably the biggest regret of any student who thought of themselves as being decently intelligent. The "Not from IIT" thing is a reassurance to ourselves that we can make it big despite not being from IIT.
True. One works hard in college too if he wants to get placed in a top company. The person when starts getting rejected because of not being from premier institutes feel the regret of not studying better in class 11 th 12th .
IIT brings ego, you don't treat people alike.
Nah man, It's just that when you achieve something there are hundreds of people who want your attention/advice. You can't treat everyone equally then.
