Really cool to see the real life design influences in this game. Only thing I’d say is that we don’t really use beacons between buildings. Just flag lines with a rope in between the flags. Also there’s really not a day and night cycle in Antarctica. So it would just be dark or light out all the time. Surprisingly though the moon is quite bright in the winter and you can see pretty clearly at night as the moonlight reflects off the snow. Lastly, sadly no dogs or any animals are allowed in Antarctica due to the Antarctic Treaty. It’s really cool to see a legit horror game in Antarctica though! We love watching The Thing movies and this game would be fun to play with the crew during the winter. Also glad to see Tomato playing this game as I watch him quite frequently during my time on the ice.
@@hexadoxical3949 I was more so talking about how they got the building designs correct. The elevated buildings and the little red buildings are actual things we have in Antarctica. We call the little red buildings “apples” and they’re survival shelters. People don’t normally live in them as depicted in the game. The elevated buildings replicate the elevated station and other science buildings we have at the South Pole. Even some of the interiors are similar like the bar room in the game. The developers really did their research which is neat to see. As for worms, we do have under ice lakes that have microbial life. And there are more under ice lakes and caves that may contain undiscovered life. Sadly though, most of Antarctica has been scanned by ground penetrating satellite scans and as I know of no giant life forms or worms have been discovered.
The bit where they’re outside at midnight and hear rifle shots in the distance Layna left in was both tense and cinematic as hell. It feels like something out of the actual movie and is way more scary than the monsters themselves.
2:45:50 Good thing Layna was lost Rping because Tomato and Strippin had varied plans to kill her when they meet up with her anywhere. 3:33:35 Hey look a wolf.
I feel like adding in player controlled monsters at least allows you to sort of keep playing in bigger lobbies rather than keep waiting or to spectate after. Even if you play as more of a horror type creature rather than oppressive.
Dread Hunger still around, it's just not buyable. People have figured out how to make servers, a new map, the old map, and even bigger lobbies and new characters. But also I watching videos uploaded as they come from people who still play it. But also also more tomato vids.

Wait... If that's the only thing they got wrong... Then the giant worm is real?

Strippin jumping into that mine while Benji was working on deactivating it was clearly an 'intrusive thoughts won' moment.

this intro just made me check my steam game times and rimworld has +4,250 hours and library of ruina at +3,250 hours
Can't blame you on RimWorld. I'll be rimming all day too. That game is just good plus the modding scene is absolutely amazing.
oh my god.

This game was AWESOME HOLY SHIT.
Would love to see another session of this game
Tamto the clap is a sick dance move
Rip bozo...Get glaciered.. Bet you didn't see it slowly coming.
Finally a concept that I’ve been hoping devs would use more often- an open world horror game. 😈
Did Kurt Russell approve of this?...
