  • Location of bolts to remove alternator or just belts. Aleady took a few bits off to make if easier to get to alternator. .the hidden torx bolt behind a plastic cap which is the belt tensioner

    The steps are like this:
    1. disconnect the battery negative or positive
    2. unbolt the hex nut for positive behind the alternator and move the wire out of the way
    3. disconnect the other connector too
    4. remove the plastic cap on the the pulley, and then, with a torx bit, rotate counterclockwise to lose it
    5. move the belt out of the way, but make sure you take a photo of it so you can put it back the same way
    6. remove the plastic cap on the other pulley (it is located next to the previous one, on the right), and with a hex bit rotate counterclockwise. this one is a static pulley so it will just come off with the bolt. this pulley hides behind it one of the bolts that hold the alternator
    7. now you can start removing the alternator bolts. most of the times it has 2 bolts, a shorter one at the top and a longer one at the bottom
    8. after you manage to remove the 2 bolts that hold the alternator, you need to make some room in order to get it out. the easiest way is by removing the the top end of the EGR hose. just unclamp it and pull it towards you
    9. now you can remove the alternator but you should spray some wd40 around the bolts areas because even if you removed it, it will kind of remain stuck in there and this will make your job easier

    Skipping a lot of steps there mate. Not possible to take it out like that. Not seeing you finish the job and have the thing out of the motor compartment. It's definitely not as simple as you make it appear. Unfortunately. Did you get the car incomplete or do you just drive it incomplete?
