For beginner sellers I would not be recommending Lego (especially expensive sets) yet to them. With such a low feedback score, big tickets items like that lego set is going to bring out the scammers. Secondly, being a highly collected Lego set, your are going find out how picky some lego collectors are, especially if the box has any damage or missing pieces. Thirdly shipping that lego box is going to be a nightmare for beginners. If you're going to enable International shipping on that Lego box, then that is another can of worms waiting to happen.
The ones asking too many questions and putting in low ball offers could likely be a sign of a scammer, check their feedback score, if they have left negative feedback on a regular basis, just block them from buying from you.😊
I think the story here was relating to the opportunity loss of saying no to an expensive fast selling item due to purchase price. I have no control over the item being presented to me in a thrift store but the premise of the series is to show the insights of a more experienced seller in helping fast track the understandings for a beginner seller. You didn't hear me saying lego was the best item to sell on eBay as a beginner...
Looks like the sourcing is pretty good in your area. I went out looking yesterday in my towns and things were dried up and I need inventory pretty bad. Lol
I was in that exact store kate got the asics and decided to pass on them, happy in the end that they went to Kate! Can’t believe that Lego set, must’ve arrived the day after or so. What a find
@ if you don’t mind I’ve got another question. I know you use your garage for storage, being in the Gold Coast have you ever had any problems with your garage being to hot leading to mold problems? I’ve thought about getting storage set up in my garage but it feels so hot and humid in there at times I’m worry about damage (especially to books and clothing)
When I saw you looking at the Lego set I yelled at the tv "make sure all the pieces are there!" Then next minute you were hitting up the staff. Still a bit of a gamble without fully knowing, but still worth it I think. Lego is always good because it's a bit like Pokemon cards, they only make certain sets and coloured bricks from those sets for a limited amount of time, so even if it's incomplete it can still be worth a lot to collectors because it's out of print/manufacturer and there are likely certain bricks of that colour/shape exclusive to that set. The down side is the time it takes to make sure all the pieces are there and that all the pieces are actually for that set. I would focus on the Minifigures (Character figures) to start out with, most of them are worth quite a bit on their own. I have a tonne of Lego to go through before I list it, hopefully it's all there lol. FYI: there are other building block manufacturers that are worth good money too like Mega Bloks
Probably not the challenge parameters but if Facebook marketplace that Lego set. It’s been a much smoother experience selling Lego on Facebook compared to eBay, especially for retired sets 👌 expand the challenge parameters? 😝
Great find on the Colosseum!! One of my clients has one on his shelf along with a ton of more Lego. Good on you for not taking those offers. A question though, why bother having offers set so low when you know you won't take them?
Got a question how can ppl offer free postage when say something like is at 15 and postage will cost 11 how can you make profit? I see this all the time on ebay
This is a great series. I can see Kate likes selling shoes and clothes. There is a second hand clothing rent a rack business called Thrifter which has opened a store in Mermaid. I have found some great items to resell at both the Kawana and Brisbane stores. I have not yet been to the Gold Coast store but might be worth a visit. I think it is mainly women’s clothes
Between creating Kate's video series, 2 new products being developed and an eBay business to run I'm finding it difficult as a 1 man band to squeeze an episode of my own in. Hopefully soon! Thanks for watching.
eBay sales tax would be added into the eBay fees section. GST has been discussed but at this stage we have decided to not build it in. It'll be a pre-tax look at your numbers. You would be able to supply the details to your accountant to work out the GST incurred
@ at this stage we haven't built any sync functionalities. The next version to be created will involve importing your eBay data into Flippedit to avoid the upfront manual data entry. As such this template data entry version of Flippedit will best suit stores of no more than 300-500 items due to the time it takes to enter all of that information, not to say anyone could use it it will just take a considerable amount of time upfront for larger stores. Plenty of revisions of the program to come but a great first step for beginners or small stores to utilise
I have to know… Many months ago you purchased a very large Mario plush. What happened to him? I ask because. We’d been flipping for a few weeks without my other half involved, he watched that particular video of you buying Mario and went out the next day (to our horror) and purchased a few very large plush toys. We tried to be nice but they went to an op shop after sitting in our front room for a few weeks.
It sold for $125 within 4 weeks. I bought it because of the genuine tag on the item. Like anything it’s particular intricacies to each item that cause a sale to happen. Simply going out and buying random plush toys won’t necessarily result in any interest for the item as you’ve seen with your husbands collection
Hi Matt,do you have a video that explains international shipping? I am wanting to start posting overseas but the prices and whole process confuses me 😅
Mostly they just watch your item and unless you offer a heavy discount so you basically end up giving it away or next door to then they just are a label watcher
Ur girlfriend will do well, she’s seen ur drive 😊. I just did the exact same thing several days ago… sold a youth XL jersey + the buyer told me it’s a youth jersey but it can go for a Man’s small as well.🤓

The clean freak in me wants you to use a magic eraser on that back wall where you take the photos. Should scrub up well 👍
Hahaha I know!! something that takes 2 seconds that I've been procrastinating on for months

@@mnoakes73 I agree
very true
Nothing to stop a dodgy buyer from saying all of the Lego pieces weren't in the box.

Here a viewer from the Netherlands. I really enjoying this series. It helps me a lot with selling things on Ebay. Thank you very much.
You got this! Thanks so much for watching!
I think it’s a good idea getting into the habit of checking buyers feedback.
Very important especially in the early days
Great series! Love those pink shoes, Kate!! 💕
Looks like the sourcing is pretty good in your area. I went out looking yesterday in my towns and things were dried up and I need inventory pretty bad. Lol
keep digging you'll be surprised by what you find

How are you keeping your eBay store going when buying for 2nd store?
Buy listing up private pick deals

Rules are rules!! Im sure we can get it done on eBay!
Matt, you want us to clean the lens but your wall is scratchy, you gotta fix that too mate.
fair call lol
Where can I get some box lights please?
Great find on the Colosseum!! One of my clients has one on his shelf along with a ton of more Lego.
Good on you for not taking those offers.
A question though, why bother having offers set so low when you know you won't take them?
Just got for the algorithm to see interest in your items and engage with sellers. I have no issues sending offers off
Keep up the great work!! Proud of you both!!
thanks so much for watching!

Band discounts help, just not if it's going rural
They're playing a volume game. Personally not a game I'd play or recommend
Do you have a recommendation for the box lighting
I’ve got the link in the descriptions of my older videos to the one I use
Loving this series.
Thanks so much for watching :D
Well done Kate! Very happy for you. 😊
Did you start a new Aust Post Business ac or are you getting the discount rate straight away?
She has her own account starting band 1
Keep up the great work, it will pay off. ❤❤😊
Absolutely

while kates doing a great job, have you stoped documenting your own ebay store?

Awesome house and eBay setup!
Thanks for watching!
Whats the name of your ebay store?
Can’t say.. the haters will hate
House of mamba
Can you add tax to the cog and sale price of the items in flippedit? Every screenshot I’m seeing does not the sales tax?

Should of taken 500 for the Lego set.
Watch it sell for more! Patience is key

@ yes we tried to explain that, in the end we all had a good laugh.
What ? Aren’t all eBay reseller businesses started from scratch ?
Those pink gel kayano's are awesome.
Aren't they!
What's happening with your ebay store ?
Same old same old
it takes an aussie to figure out how to make an app international by adding one feature 🤣19:40
Please buy a thermal printer or you could even get one from a company and get it for free if you make a video on it
I honestly don't have a single second of worry not using one lol
@ ok your missing out it’s so nice and it’s worth the 70$
I think you forgot to blur Kates surname out mate.
Is that really her name though?
@TheAussieFlipper true, didnt think of that. Thought id give you a heads up as i did what with all the scammers about.

Watchers = time wasters
I've made a few sales by offering a 10% discount to watchers,
I find watchers help the algorithm and advertising in general.
Mostly they just watch your item and unless you offer a heavy discount so you basically end up giving it away or next door to then they just are a label watcher
Definitely not time wasters. They provide a great indication of how in demand your items are
@@TheAussieFlipper
True to a degree but most unless you heavily discount the item they don’t purchase it and just remain a watcher and do nothing
17:59 Kate already sounds like a serious ebay seller😁💪
