  • In the 1940s, women took to the skies as Women Air Service Pilots, better known as WASPs. These female pilots of World War 2 flew ferrying and target missions in the United States to free up male pilots for combat on the front.

    Does anyone know what the jacket patch shown at 2:45 represents?

      @@HistoryCurator Thanks. I have one of my fathers’ flight jackets from the war and it also has the patch. In fact, later in the war, after several years as a flight instructor, he was sent to the ATC. So this makes sense
