  • Hello my friends!
We went to Ciney, the biggest militaria fair in Europe!
Thousands of people come from all over the world to buy and sell military stuff!
Most of the stuff you see here is WW2 related, but basically you can find things from all time frames!
I already went to this place when I was a kid, and the last time I visited this fair was in 2019.
It was a big chaos, so much people.. BUT, we saw some awesome stuff, made some great deals, and... I'm really happy with the items I bought!
In the end, I will explain you what I bought, what I paid for it, and what it's worth!
Also, I managed to link names carved in some of the items to the actual soldier who was using it back in WW2!
Lot's of exciting things to see, enjoy the video!! :)

Hey Nick! Conor here, from Cascorro Militaria. Thank you so much for what you have done. I spent the whole 57 minutes of the video smiling, you are a true and honest fellow, I hope you enjoy your belt buckle, it’s more than well deserved. Take care and see you in Spain sometime? Who knows! Hahaha!

Fun fact: The belt buckle you got is actually the older style, before the ww1 model was introduced. I believe it's from pre 1896? So definitly awesome and quite unusual to find! To my knowledge these were often worn by the Landwehr units during ww1

I’ve never heard of this military memorabilia show. I lived in Berlin for 2.5 yrs, US Army. At the time, I wasn’t interested in military history and war memorabilia. Now though, I love watching videos on people out excavating/hunting for war era relics. Wish I had taken an interest in this hobby while stationed in Berlin. Great video guys and gals! Thank you from Las Vegas NV

Great video as always! I knew that W mark in the helmet right away as Westinghouse. My grandfather on my dads side a US WW2 navy vet retired from there. I think its great that there are so many people like you doing their best to keep history alive. My grandfather on my moms side moved from the Netherlands in1952. He spoke more of his time in the army in Indonesia after the war, but not nearly as much as his life during the war as a teenager. Family friends hid him at a bakery somehow for a year and a half so he wouldn't be put to work for the Germans. Thinking of that maybe we don't have it so bad today.

Hello Nick, I was wondering if you could make a discord for your gaming account so people can play with you, and your friends. You could make a unit based on whatever you want and you could use original "historically accurate" tactics. I understand if you don't want to as it would be a big undertaking. I would greatly appreciate your consideration on this matter, thanks.

This years october edition was a good one. To my surprise, modern small arms made a slight comeback, with even a few mausers but the prices for many things were X3 what you would have paid a few years ago.
Example: In the past, a french mle 1892 ordnance revolver in good condition would have set you back 400- 500 euro's, now the going rate is 1000+ and I even saw one at 1500 euro.
    Completely insane, in my opinion.

We have a similar reenactors market in the UK called TORM (The Orignal Reenactors Market) but the vendors are all multi-period not just WW1 & WW2 but Medieval, Vikings, Elizabethan, Victorian ect. Of all sorts of items and fabrics and lots more!
But I made the faital mistake of spending my cash, within the first few hours of being there and then couldn't spend anymore. So I was just walking about in self pity and regret, thinking at every stall I walked past.
"dang it! I could've bought that!" But regardless I always love seeing how other countries do different militaria, antique markets & such. Its fascinating and really cool to see as many other markets have different variety of stalls, sellers, items ect.

I looked up his name on the internet and found that he passed away in 2008 at the age of 89. I then looked up his wife, and found that his wife, Genevieve passed away a little over one year later in 2010. They had been married since 1947. George enlisted 27 December 1941. Age 23. Discharged 2 November 1945. They had four children. I think I have found his youngest sons e-mail address. I will see if I can get it to him.

Really nice fair with a fair representation of militaria covering all aspects of the hobby, you got some really nice pieces, shame about the fallschirmjager helmet being stolen...it would not have been a random spur of the moment theft it would have been planned with a few people....one to act as a diversionary customer, one to do the theft. Such an act brings the hobby into disrepute along with collectors...the rule is simple...if you cant afford it either save up for it or dont buy it. It shames the hobby knowing it was probably stolen by a collector, not a dealer. Really good informative video.

Yes, I would really recommend visiting this fair sometime in the future if you ever have the chance, there's a lot of good stuff to find! I do notice that it's getting a lot harder to get good quality items for fair prices though, years ago it was a lot different.. You could find German helmets for really cheap! Also, a lot of stuff is fake, so many people who don't know enough about the hobby yet, will pay lots of money there for fake items. Collectors like you and me will soon spot the difference though! Yes, a real shame about the helmet.. Makes you feel sick.. And the chances of finding this helmet back is around 0.1%... And even if you do, good luck trying to prove its yours.. People like this shoube locked up for sure. Thanks for watching again!

    My dear friend.
M1910 Pistol Belts are nowhere near costing 50EUR per belt. 40$ is the maximum price for a completely mint belt and usually costs less than that (usually 25-35$).
The M1923 Belt is not a WW2 one. It is a Greek post-war belt overpainted in OD7. Original US M1923 usually cost around 70$ and you can get hands-on them for cheaper.

Gary... Indiana... Birth place MJ.... First black mayor in the US... after equal rights and welfare introduction/free food, 1968 during LBJ and Vietnam era.... Totally run down... population dropped 70% non viable town due to no taxes of citizens and no taxes of left industries... Booming town till 1970's... MJ and family left in time, was gone to west coast... and strange how a German who fought for Hitler ended up in that specific rundown town...

Nick, I would not remove the 69th infantry division insignia off the U.S. helmet!!! soldiers hand painted insignia on helmets a lot. Usually on the side, but you never know. As good of a condition as that helmet is in, it may be original. Also, I would wager, that the U.S. web belts are re- enact or replicas. The U.S. stamp is just that a stamp. You can tell because the image doesn’t go into the creases. I strongly believe it was painted on in the war. I cannot confirm, but I believe the U.S. field buckle is also more modern. I had/have mine from the 1980s. My dad’s fatigue belts all had the solid brass topped buckles until the late 70s, I believe. Sorry to burst your bubble, but reality is reality! I took some pictures, but don’t know how to add them to the comment.
    Good hunting, ciao for now!

Here in Australia the trade of German ww2 memorabilia has now been made illegal, it has ruined the hobby and businesses for thousands of ww2 enthusiasts such as myself, its a total over reaction and over reach of power.

Those belts looked like reproductions. A lot of that stuff being sold look too Pristine and brand new to be 80 years old. They put original stamps and use original machines to make a lot of ww2 equipment.

That was a pretty hefty price for the AA tripod still can't lie. have seen some sold here in Finland for much less. The heavier fortification tripods in turn have been going around for a grand or little over whenever they pop up.
