I lost my dad just a few days after my 27th birthday. I still remember my mom trying to make it special for me, even though we had to celebrate it at the hospital. I picked out a necklace from the gift shop with forget-me-nots preserved in it, since he loved flowers and was always an avid gardener, too. He told us too before he passed, we mustn't be too sad. I know he would have wanted us to enjoy life, even though he's passed on. Keep taking good care of yourselves. ❤️

When my dear friend passed away over ten years ago he was in hospice for the last month of his life. I visited him every day while he was there. The night he died I left his room and sat in my car weeping, also thinking "now what?" I'm so sorry for your loss. Grief is such a strange thing. Ten years later and I still get sad when I think about that time. But it's not as crippling. You don't really move "on" but forward. The hole in your heart is still there, just not as big. Time does heal. Thinking of you!

Those of us who have had good men as fathers are truly blessed! My sweet dad would have turned 99 years old today, born 7-30-1925! He’s been gone 9 years and I feel very blessed to have had him that long, though I miss him immeasurably! I was definitely Daddy’s girl and he was my rock. There is no one left in my life who I truly matter much to, but I believe we will meet again! 🥰 Grief is simply love sent, with nowhere to land. P.S. Came back to add that …Yeah, I’d love to see y’all house hunting! It’s very interesting to see what houses, land, etc. looks like and is selling for in different places. Good luck in your hunt and thank God AND your sister, that you didn’t move into a construction nightmare! Besides noise, it’s not nice to see what tearing up the natural habitat of wildlife causes. And don’t forget the endless dust created by such endeavors. 😊

We moved (pretty much the same reason) in a boom for sellers and the one I wanted (middle of nowhere/15 acres, big two story~downstairs off to the side for my folks to live in-massive garages) fell out of contract and we had a deadline to move, the only place available in our range was where we live now. The only saving grace for me is there is an acre lot on three sides and the house across the street is down a hill and I can see only the roof. We managed to get the acre to the west side. The acre up hill is owned by someone that is keeping it wild for the view. This spring a house up one and two over is building. It will take a year or so to finish. Saving up to get the acre to the east side. I totally feel the not wanting to see anyone 🤣. The freedom to garden is just so great! Keep looking, I would watch those videos :D

There are so many steps to grief and each one of us goes through them differently and in your own way! There are great grief groups that can help you two on your healing journey! I lost my mom suddenly two years ago and we are all still grieving in our own ways! Thank you for sharing. And I pray blessings upon all of you and your families! ❤😊

Going from 1/8th to 1 acre Is a huge leap. I went from your size to almost a half acre. I love gardening and grow many, many cut flowers. Add in shrubs, some grass & trees and it creates an unbelievable amount of work (in addition to a full time job). Gardens won’t wait for you…things grow wild and /or croak without you. So you have to do it no matter how tired you are after a big day at work. Would you consider less than an acre? It might be more affordable and closer into where you are now. Plant hedges or install fences if needed for privacy.

Yeah it’s going to depend on the lot, wouldn’t mind half an acre.

I'm so sorry about your dad and i understand, I just lost my mother in law on the 27th. She was bedridden with advanced dementia and couldn't do anything for herself. I lived with her/took care of her since 2019. I am having a hard time trying to figure out what to do with myself. She was my main focus for so long that i lost myself. Prayers for you two and keep up the good work. I love watching your videos. ❤

That "what now?" feeling is not unusual after an intense care-taking experience. The feeling is profound. "Zombie mode" is a good description. I am an experienced Hospice Nurse. Even I am not immune. It is as if you are speeding down the interstate and suddenly the engine falls out of your vehicle. The world is speeding past, and you are... stuck. Be gentle with yourself. Your dad is always with you. Just listen with your heart.

Yep, like others have said, grief just changes shape. Let’s face it, a part of us dies when someone we love dies. Both of my parents are now gone. A part of me is gone, too. That’s not to say that we don’t continue to build and be built in our grief..but it never really disappears. Sometimes grief will jump up and hit you out of nowhere. I call this getting sucker-punched. Out of the blue. Time does help you process your loss, too. Take care of each other and thank you for sharing so much with us. God bless you both, your families, too.

Loss is forever..... grief doesn't have to be. It does get easier, if you allow it. ❤ My father has been gone for 32 years. He had dementia for the final 3 years of his life so we lost him repeatedly and it was not easy. My mother passed away in 2019 .....a month short of 99, she had a good long life but was ready to go (her words). A song, a sight, a smell will illicit a memory.... sometimes a quick pleasant memory, sometimes an overwhelming feeling of joy or sadness. Sometimes when I see something that makes me think of them I say, "hey, how ya doing", sometimes I just say "Hi" because I feel that they are with me in that moment. On a brighter note.... life does go on and your Dad is watching and cheering you on from the bleachers (so to speak) Keep putting one foot in front of the other, keep smiling and breathe.... just breathe! Make a vision board for what you want in a house. Even if you don't believe it will help... put it out to the universe, what's the worst that can come from it? I for one would love to hear about your house hunting adventures. My son and his wife are trying to buy their 1st home and it has been difficult.... he's not terribly handy either but we know a lot of very handy people so they'll be ok with a fixer upper. I love your videos! Keep themcoming and keep up the great work ❤🇨🇦

So sorry for the loss of your father. I can relate because my sister and I also helped take care of our father in Feb 2021 when he had brain cancer until he passed in Jan of 2022. We had lost our mother in 2013 so we were his caretakers and also taking him to appts. etc. Our younger brother lived with him but my sister and I did the bulk of the care along with hospice that came in 1 hour a day 5 days a week. I don't regret one moment in that year and wouldn't change a thing, but I know your pain and it still hurts because we were close to my dad, which makes it harder. Be proud that you were able to help him in his time of need and stay strong. Love both your channels.🙏

Bless you and your family, it is not easy but there is a peace in knowing they aren't suffering. In approximately 5 years, I survived cancer, took care of my mom until she died, my husband died unexpectedly, my dad passed away last September and have lost 3 pets in 4 months. Love every moment that you have and cherish it. I am blessed to still have 2 wonderful children, my in-laws, and my friends who have been a great support. I also watched a lot of your videos which brought a smile to my face and experimentation in the kitchen. Thank you because although you are dealing with your grief your videos helped to ease mine a little.

I was the same way about going to the hospital/medical center my doctor was in after my husband passed away at that hospital. Even driving past it brought back so many heavy feelings. Hi from the uk, love getting to know you both in real life, similar situation for me too, it went on way longer and both parents passed within 6 months of each other, it takes some adjusting when you put your life on hold for a long period, finding myself again slowly, it takes time. You are, if not intentionally, funny on keto twins, so do keep it up, but I do like this deeper dive into reality, and yes neighbours aren’t fun ( from a couple who purposely lives in the back of beyond), 1/3 acre but no neighbours, heaven!
