I have owned a built both of these cars. 4 years ago, I gave it up and moved onto BMW. I am honestly more impressed with their "out the box" platform. Though modding bmw's heavily becomes a challenge because the ecu isn't as open source. But bolt-on vs bolt-on without changing the turbo or injector size. My 435iX (AWD) hit 410whp/460wtq. Love these cars because the community is so big. But once you start doing mods per gain and money spent. I have to give it to BMW.

Why cant everyone just love the two cars? Both have major pros and cons. Neither are perfect.
Wafa Mohidin because Subie drivers tend to be cunts. Not all of them but it's not a coincidence. I have been dailying a itr and with snow and ice on the road they just won't fuck off, light after light of revving and smirking. Evo guys are low key, nothing to prove.
Really they are both good platforms, so just get whatever your drawn to more. I have an STI and I admit that mod per mod the evo makes more power and does feel more "raw" of a car.
Knowing that one might ask, well why did I buy the STI? Well simply I was more drawn to the STI with its looks, branding, flat motor, exhaust note that has some character to it etc. Also for me making a power house wasn't my intention ,if it were I would've went with a different platform like a mustang GT and threw on boltons and a supercharger. I was looking for a fun 4 door turbo car. I also wanted some car comforts such as a "decent interior, fold down rear seats, bigger gas tank etc, which the STI offers but not the evo.

I'm an sti guy and would like to see the race repeated on gavel or snow with some corners in the mix as these cars were intended for that use. Something about the Subaru is more "all year round" than the evo. Also, if I wanted an awd street monster I would go with a R32 gtr.

To be honest stock to stock,evo is faster than sti.on looks,they are tie.but ill still take sti anyday because of that ej25 uel header rumble sound.its fun to drive than any other sports car out there.the rumbleeee,yeah the rumbleeee i said.
Martin Umaguing Evo is faster it has a much bigger stock turbo. I'm running an fp green turbo on my 06 sti 100% meth. Evos running fp greens or similar sized turbos will not walk away from me like that. Stock STI pistons will eventually crack after 400whp depending on how you drive it.
carey milson im contented with the stock 305hp on sti and all stock as posible.its gonna be a daily not a side car to beat up and abuse.if the evo even have a stock 500hp but doesnt have the rumble sound like the sti.i will still chose sti because of the sound.for me its a massager in my ear and lungs everytime i hear it.

I have personally walked a few EVOs around my way in my '15 STI. That being said, I'm a car enthusiast, so I love things about a lot of cars and don't get caught up in the "rivalry" thing so much. I like my STI more than my C63 AMG in ways, but I still like the EVO and would probably have one too

Evos almost punk on sti's. Subarus are quick in the beggining but they get pretty slow if your still flooring it..

The sti turbo needs to be bigger. That kinda sound means u low on boast not getting enough air in the turbo to spool properly, up the board and race again.

Had a cammed/tbe Evo 8 RS and now a '15 Sti stage 3'd(just a full fuel system/downpipe/cai) the 4G/4B dual scroll off the Ex manifold turbo will ALWAYS spool and get away from a single scroll, 5 feet of exhaust piping EJ. Thats where subarus have to drop $$ to get spooling. EWG bandaid helps but doesnt fix slow. That hawkeye has the coveted 1yr only gear ratios but lacks the newer '15+ steering(which is 95% evo steering...almost but not as good STILL after all these years) ....THE few things that Scoob kills Evo are the turning radius for a daily(no more reversing in u-turns w Scoobs!) And folding rear seat, + stealerships are everywhere. The Evo is 10% more chassis everywhere with its aluminum rear LCA's w adjustable camber is a big win w Evo. Scoob guys have to spend 3-500 for LCA's to adjust camber. You gotta spend Porsche $$ on a subaru flat 4 to get it to run hard - rewarded in the end I guess. Its the price of owning a flat engine w miles of manifold underneath wether its UEL or EL its still miles of piping. EJs need a low mount snail like Killer Bee is perfecting at moment and the FA20 has from factory.
A true car enthusiast will respect any build, doesn’t matter whether if Subaru’s are good or evos are better, they both are really awesome cars

Sober The Joker Nah. People carelessly mod their evos improperly and THAT causes issues. Professionally tuned with tasteful mods, evos last like any other car with proper maintenance. And Evos are beautiful :) To each their own, my friend.

I own a 2006 WRX STI & a 2015 EVO Final Edition. I honestly can say with or without bolt ons the EVO is still the winner on looks & power. The EVO cost less to make more power even with bolt ons & a proper tune on stock turbo. BTW... a 2006 WRX STI is still more powerful than the newer STI's. I own both cars so yeah I'm speaking from experience.
What kind of turbo are on both cars? and Just saying forged internals doesn't really say much. I personally love both platforms and one day I will own an evo 9 and put it into my collection.

I have a subie, I almost got an Evo but too rough for daily and being a family and active guy, I throw my bike on top, fold seats back and pack aton of stuff for travel. Sure you won't have as much fun like that in Evo. Otherwise power wise, Evo is better but I chose Subaru for adventure reasons plus the sound.....oohh my oh my. By the way, with Subarus, they come with hundreds of friends than any other brand out there

I bought the 17 limited STI in June and i dont like the drone from the factory performance exhaust so I'm looking for any ideas on a set up that is mostly drone free inside but still loud outside. It's my second STI and i notice sometimes it seems when you want to hit it the car is like I'm not in the mood and seems to be lacking the HP. I dont remember my Ecli[pse GST ever having that issue. I also remember it was smooth all the way to 7500 RPM. That 4g63 was a very good motor.

Evos are badass. I own a 2006 sti and 2011 hatchback sti. In my opinion Evo Xs and new STI are ugly as shit. I get wet when I see Evo 8/9s.
I've owned evo 2/5rs/tme/8gsr/8mr/9gsr but id never own a X in my opinion they are Heavy an no longer handle raw like an Evo i also don't like the any Sti after the Hatch gc8/bugeye are my fav have owned an would own again :)

I own a subie, I wouldn't want a evo. But I really love them, however I cannot forgive mistu for the sheer laziness and complacency in the Design. And as a car guy and can confirm that no car is better or faster, there is a subie out there faster than this Evo and so on and so fourth. All love tho, good job on the vid!

Bro I would love to get an evo but they always have problems which I don’t want for my first car as a 16 year old. That’s y I would rather get an sti because they are reliable. But idk I always feel like the interior is horrible in the evo (looks outdated but isn’t a big deal).

It's because he didn't put a bigger turbo on it. The Evo will always beat the STI on a stock turbo because of the absolutely low ceiling of the stock turbo on the STI. With the Evo you'll hit over 400whp on stock turbo where the STI you'd be lucky to it 370whp.

@@whatiwant8898 lol, I'm 43. I probably had a evo before you could drive. I had a 2005 STI, 2007 STI and a 2017 WRX. I'm not afraid to drive. I live in southern florida. Racing every night. When I was racing in the streets, they made it a felony, that was early 2000's. Sti vs evo comes down to the better drive.
